on goon you dont permabrig; because players can respawn as a new char a few minutes after death on rp, execution is encouraged there, and on classic it’s not like people even consider brigging at all for traitors
permabrigging is very cringe on all codebases though, as there is quite literally nothing to do

This made me almost want a "Counterintelligence mistake" gamemode where CentCom sends out a credible tip that lists most of the traitors, but also some of the normal crew, and the normal crew listed gets the objectives of "escape alive and not in custody", "don't be marked "wanted"" and "bring your original PDA, headset and implants", to clear their name.
Some real "reasonable man in unreasonable situation" stuff.

@@burgernthemomrailer The sec doesn't know that all of the listed are traitors, so the traitors are welcome to explain they are the mistake.
But it's still bad unless there is an objective for the crew (and most importantly sec) to not have the mistaken traitors arrested or executed at the end of the round. (Which would be painful to implement).
I think it could work in a different (HRP even MRP but crucially, low bwoink, world) with a nice balance of loud and roleplaying traitors, but this is not a perfect world so yes it's fucked.
This is a good idea. It maes the objective for sec become "tread carefully and properly investigate", because if they execute or detain the wrong person they will lose, and their behaviors are scrutinized. By having the admins and later, the broader server aware of who the fake traitor is, it creates a legitimate dis-incentive for murder-happy sec because this one person will be monitored and the actions of sec in relation to them judged. And as a result it teaches sec how to be more cautious and how to judge situations properly, as a sort of live fire training.

I think Space Law should really just the a thing in all instances, and players taking command roles should be held to higher standards. Great video however, definitely a heart racing playthrough.

Seeing how sec acts in your videos makes me realize why most people still just play SS13 instead. Until there's a 'killer server' for SS14 that really understands how roles should work, people are just going to prefer servers that are either more lenient, like Goon, or servers where the mechanics have more depth and there's a higher skill ceiling, like /tg/Terry.
In goon I can steal stuff and make monkey teleporter and noone bats an eye, but the moment I do something fun in SS14 I get curb stomped

@@Vinzaf Considering that, besides the welderbomb, he didn't harm anybody, and he didn't have any (*syndicate) contraband on him, he should have been just a few minutes in the brig, at most. Why the hell should someone have to spend their entire round in perma (or be executed if they break out, apparently) for committing a crime that didn't kill anyone but themselves? That's not fun for anybody; you're just making the game boring AND giving your server a bad rep for people who are just incompetent and not actually malicious/antag.

Yep I threw an open soda can so it spilled soda on the floor and cap slipped on it, thats a good way to flee if you don't have a banana peel or a soap. Just make sure to open the soda can

SS14 has an issue of power tripping admins and heads, honestly the only bad part of my experience.
