- John Mobley one of the most underrated linebackers to ever touch the field. Mobley was drafted in the first round of the 1996 NFL Draft by the Broncos after a college football career in Kutztown University. Mobley's best season was in 1997 when he had 132 tackles and four sacks and was an All-Pro that season. Mobley missed most of the 1999 season because of an injury.Mobley suffered a bruised spinal column during the 2003 season after he collided with his teammate Kelly Herndon in a game against the Baltimore Ravens,and the injury was severe enough that the Broncos cut him before the 2004 season in order to allow him time for recovery.In Super Bowl XXXII, Mobley deflected a Brett Favre pass on 4th and 6 from the 31-yard-line with just over 30 seconds left in the game. The deflection sealed a 31-24 victory for the Broncos.During his career, Mobley played in 105 career games, starting 102 of them, including two Super Bowls, during which he made 608 career tackles, 10.5 quarterback sacks, and five interceptions for 45 yards and a touchdown.He is the cousin of former NBA player Cuttino Mobley.

I do not believe that Mobley ever made a Pro Bowl . Not as big of a snub as Simon Fletcher, but still big enough. He should have had a couple of Hawaii trips.
Got to meet John in 2014 at a charity golf outing he hosted in memory of his Dad. He stayed at the 9th green and met everyone and got to talk with us. Signed two hats and a jersey for me. Also met Al Wilson and Terrell Davis at the dinner. He thanked everyone for supporting Lees Legacy, the charity he started in memory of his Dad.

In 2002 I worked at the King Soopers on Hampden and Monaco. 2 separate times John Mobley came into store with DL Lionel Dalton.
I’m fairly certain that they were coming from a workout nearby and stopping in store right after. Both were very low key and polite & Both seemed shorter than I thought they’d be ( due to TV making people “larger than life” prob ).
Also Mobley looked like Mr Universe standing next to Dalton who looked like ( not an insult ) a real life version of the Kool Aid Man ... HUGE from side to side.
Idk if they came in regularly and I only saw them twice? Or if Mobley couldn’t get Dalton to the Gym a 3rd time?
Also Regulars at the time were Billy Thompson and Tom Graham. Wouldn’t have known BT was who he was but he wore a jersey once due to coming from a signing. TG was very talkative about his son Dan along with his own “playing days” ... so not easy to miss.
Also a regular at that store ... the actress who played the housekeeper ( Alice?) on The Brady Bunch , I guess she always lived in that area & o think she may have also passed away in the same general timeframe but not 100% sure.
*edit* she didn’t pass away until 2014 , so I must have heard it later and just made the out of order connection. I was only at that particular store in 2001/02.
