Did a bit of research and found some good info. The owner was born in 1933. I know his name etc. I've found blog from 2008, when the owner would have been 75, when a couple of people were complaining about extortionate prices, and he was abrupt and rude. He seemed to also get confused when someone was asking for a badge and they went round in circles for days. I would say he got too old and senile, maybe ending up in a home. Companies House only shows him and someone older as registered. Probably abandoned for around ten years or so.

Almost certainly another victim of the Volkswagen takeover of Skoda. When that happened, a lot of the traditional old, independent Skoda dealerships lost their franchises overnight, regardless of what their contract situation was with Skoda UK, and the franchises all went to VAG UK's favoured dealers. It was absolutely criminal, and probably illegal, but none of the independents had the money to take the case to court, so they got away with it, apart from a very small slap on the wrist from the SMMT...
Sad seeing what looked a thriving business in such a state. I cant see the folks living nearby over looking that day in day out liking it in that state much.
Had a Wolseley 1500 once, part owned it with a friend got it back on the road, he drove it once and it frightened him to death. Got it going again and it was hilarious, quite fast with it's twin SUs (I changed the single one for twins before someone corrects me).

Wow if I’m not mistaken that’s Cranes near me. Geoff Crane was a very nice person and many years ago (nearly 30 ) gave a Skoda Estelle to get to work in they still have a caravan sales place up the road. He shut up shop a long time ago and would of left all that there in case it was needed he was the main Skoda dealer around that area great that old place
Not only are sites like this an extreme waste, they are also a serious environmental hazard and it should be forbidden by law to reach this stage of decay... Maybe the owner died, maybe he got sick, maybe there are no relatives and so on and so on, but there really is no excuse for letting it get to this point of decay. Some of the buildings are about to collapse and we clearly saw lots of aerosol cans in there. Probably lots of oil as well, not to mention any hazardous fluids still left in the cars and lawnmowers. Once the buildings collapse, there will be no way to recover aerosols, oil drums etc. in a safe way and there will be serious contamination issues to deal with. No property anywhere is "unowned", no matter what circumstances, there's always a person, company or even a state in charge somewhere in case the owner died and had no living heirs. Whoever holds that position of ownership/charge/custody needs to get their act together and do something.
