- Mount & Blade: Warband is a brilliant game released in 2010 by TaleWorlds Entertainment, with the release of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, it's easy to overlook this gem. With an incredible amount of content than the vast majority of games released 11 years later, it still holds it's own against top level triple A games.

I think what makes warband's end game so satisfying is the sheer amount of time and effort you have to put in to even get to the end game, and if you can reach that, it's it feels so worth it because of the amount of details put in the game world, npcs don't feel like braindead 3d models walking around, especially the lords, they have personality, political views, enemies, friends etc. And boy, i still remember the very first time i got a fief, it was dumar, and i absolutely spoiled it, i frequently checked for quests, and when the village was on very good terms with me, they even gave me actual soldiers when i recruited from them, it's those little things that makes warband great
You made me feel nostalgic, It's a cool game 🥰
mannn fr and that you feel that you have a real unique story. for example I had a companion Borcha who stuck alongside me thru thick n thin from when I was peasant to when I was a marshal in the khergit empire to a lord of my own faction. I rewarded him and another companion, my marshal lezliat a feif and they became lords. Well, things took a major down turn when all the factions team up against me and we were losing a lot. Borcha betrayed me and joined another faction, still hurts to this day. So after my faction dissolved I rejoined the khergits and worked my way back up to marshal and immediately went on a manhunt to find Borcha. Found him, obliterated him, and took him prisoner 😂

I just got this game a few weeks ago on sale, absolutely love it!
From my experience, I've never seen Swadia do to well, they always get curb stomped by every other Faction until they are nothing more than a few unconnected enclaves with a handful of castles and maybe a city.
I have 500 hours and saw swadia do good for the first time, nords seemed to have taken the flak instead

Still play it often , load fast , good for a quick play while something is cooking or on a slow night
I don't know why exactly, but I also prefer Warband, although I believe that Bannerlord does all things you mentioned.
I think i now why it's because Bannerlord they just made a technical upgrade, building their own engine which is quite good the amount of units in battle is quite incredible; but they forget all the good points of Warband. There's also a lot of micromagement in Bannerlord in gestion end in battles and a lot of battles... as fun as they are that become boring. Bannerlord need a better population and economic system.
Yeah i found this game by accident, dl immeadiately😍 and loving l. after 4 or 5 days of playing im reaching lvl 20.. hopefully i could conquer calradia one day😂😂

i think its funny when i go through my playthrough my camera is at the opposite position like with the dessert being on the bottom of the map
I remember playing warband back then in 2014 or 13 was it when it was free for 2 days, i love it, i later on got with fire and sword for free, i did liked it but the online is well kinda dead tbh, and yeah the battles are really hard thanks to the fucking guns, i plan on buying warband along with the dlcs maybe tomorrow’s or next month
I am a console player ps4 and I still find my self play warband over more recent games I just love this game and I am not a big fan of bannerlord

Yes mate I'm a huge fan of the duelling system in this mod especially, I hope they implement this feature into the vanilla version of Bannerlord!

At first i Highly disagreed with you saying warband is suppirior UNTIL, i rememberd that waband-mount and blade is like 10-20 usd BUT HOWEVER bannerlord is like 50 usd so Im glad we can agree warband is better
Haha I’m glad to hear! I’m sure once Bannerlord has been completely polished and comes out of early access it will be able to compete however I’m not sure if it will be able to offer the same level of charm and authenticity Warband has!

Bannerlord is the 'son of Warband' - different but not going to be better for a good few years and may turn out to be a git, albeit most newer players will prefer it - it was very much aiming for a broader audience. generic AF. I say this with over 4k hours in Bannerlord - 3k in the beta. Warband I have on console - so not a mod in sight but it's still got so much more going for it *for a particular kind of player. - most importantly for me, it's an actual sandbox, Bannerlord puts us as the Chosen One, something I dislike in games that aren't about the Heroes. Sarranid who? ya been listening to Ultra Nate lately or summet fella? ate, no arté. (mostly banter - from a slightly triggered foreigner after having English beaten in to him in Essex. Essex ffs!!). Solo, all day solo. All the loot, all the xp. lol loving the way we take things personally in this - Tulag you Arkit fæcking tw@! lol Ragnar - remember his brethren visited the Brits with 'The Great Heathen Army' - he's using those Rus tactics. Only the front line gets an axe lol the spears in the third row are there to keep the front line moving forward. God I love the anti-meta of this game, brute forcing it to behave. Businesses are for additional storage, hoard that TP baby! See I can't argue with a guy who also enjoys trolling the leaders with Claimants.

Warband is excellent, but I would say a pretty simple game. Yes, it is fun to play and that's what matters the most. But sometimes you want to have fun with more features. Tactics (especially formations) are limited, bots behaviour becomes super predictable at tournaments making them an easy money source, not the challenge, especially as you level up. Yes, there are mods, a lot of mods actually, but I mean that's not the base game.
Adventure is about engaging new, I know it's not easy to make a ton of content for players, but still this game feels like a grind at some points. But what makes this game special for me - even grind can be enjoyable. Every little win is enjoyable (except for tournaments which feel boring now tbh).
M&B warband is definitely not a masterpiece, but it seems that game don't need to be a masterpiece to enjoy it and have fun.

Started playing but now It crashed and causes my pc to bsod, anyone got this issue or is it just me ?
its your PC over heating from running too hard.. which means you don't have enough Random Access Memory to run the game and whatever background programs are running.
A Bad PC fan or a failing Hard drive at the worse case scenario could also cause it.
My Own BSOD was from the fan on the hard drive failing and the hard drive power board burning itself out from the heat.
