Why 5w-40 instead of the 5w-30 recommended by subaru? Also, you should NEVER go under the car without jack stands. You have not done this "PROPERLY" at all...
According to the owners manual in hot weather conditions it’s recommended for API classification SM (or SL):SAE viscosity No.:30, 40, 10W-50, 20W-40, 20W-50 basically the hotter temperature the higher grade required
especially the older models from the 2000s-10 most Subaru owners I know in central cal use any European standards 5W 40 oil or go with motul 8100 brand 5W 30 or 40@@Dalesdeadbug99
