Stranded just in time before a gasket got too hot. Phew. Thanks for the help locating the drain

    Couple suggestions.
When draining the oil, first remove oil fill cap... this will help the oil drain faster and get better flow.
When checking level after filling.... do so AFTER you get it down from the ramps.

Thanks for watching and for the suggestions! I did take the car down but didn't do a great job showing that part.

Very much appreciate this video. If you do the brake fluid or other fluid replacement on this car I’d love to see it. I have a 2006 Outback and it’s time to change the oil filter, so here I am. I have to do the transmission fluid but mine is stick shift. I think I understand how to do the brake pads but if you happen to do a video on that I’d watch it.

Those are all videos I will probably make at some point when the car needs the work. Subscribe to the channel for more Subaru content in the future. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment!! -Frosty

Amazingly different underneath to my 2006 manual Outback here in the UK. The UK version has a one-piece under-tray with two tiny access ports that give you access to nothing you could possibly be interested in so the filter change requires the under-tray to be removed (easy, but putting it back is a bit of a pain). Also, there is not much room around the filter so the right filter socket is a help. Also we get different service intervals - 6 years/60,000 miles for the timing belt for example.

I think my wifes car may be missing some of the lower belly pan you are talking about...not sure. The filter is very easy to get to on her car though. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!

Thanks for the vid! Would it flow a bit faster if you took the filler cap off too? Love the valve idea for the sump.

Thanks for watching and the question/suggestion! Yes it would flow faster, I forgot to take the cap off, normally it's the 1st thing I do. I have these valves on 2 other vehicles and it sure speeds up the process and less mess. -Frosty

How do you reset the light

My wifes car is a 2005 and it does not have a light that comes on to reset. Maybe something newer than the one in this video would but hers does not. Thank you for watching!
