Strange how these car review channels never mention dogs. My dog travels with me everywhere in the car, even more often than my wife. That third row seating is fine for dogs (and kids).
My dog travels in the booth, which is fine in this car. It even has the option of a luggage dividing net which saves out a dog rack and is easier to remove.
Good evening Sir. I do like this car, and your advice on this car is spot on, and this car is added to my shopping list. EQB 250+ I like it and yes I like the EV9 perfect for going back to Scotland and sleeping in the back however its to big and this might put me off it iv been in one however look out for the EV5 and iv had a e mail from Peugeot on the new E-5008 haven't looked at there e mail yet as im watching your brilliant review. thanks keep up the good work take it easy 👍
I test drove one: the rear seat space I found really unimpressive - the floor is high and seats are low so I had my knees pointing upwards. I think for anyone over 5'5" it would be very uncomfortable in the back on long journeys. And, of course, only 2 "real" seats with a half-seat betweem them rather than 3 individual seats. The rest of it seemed fine, if unexceptional.
Brilliant car. I was allowed to drive it for 2 weeks - it really catched me. A lot of space, but compact from an external view, handy in city environment, practical everywhere. I love it!
I used to drive an MG4. However, my wife has mobility issues and needs to use a wheelchair. She found getting in and out of the MG4 increasingly difficult and one of the rear seats had to be folded down in order to fit her wheelchair in. We therefore narrowed our search for a new car down to the EQB and the BMW iX3. Whilst I liked the EQB the BMW had the edge and we took delivery of a new BMW iX3 M Sport Pro last Saturday.
Great review, very comprehensive. I quite like the EQB styling and looks great quality. However as a company car driver, it’s unfortunately hugely expensive to lease - try 50% more than a high spec Enyaq that’s not far off the entry level EQB on list price and even more than that against an ID Buzz. Pity, Merc’s used to be good value as a company car due to the slow depreciation, but I guess those days are gone 😢
The price of success perhaps? The more volume-oriented they become, the faster the depreciation. That’s the issue with the big German brands chasing sales figures.
The issue was I had left my phone in Cinematic mode and it focussed on me, not the dash. Error now noticed and will ensure not repeated going forward. Apologies.
Ordered my EQB 350 4MATIC Premium Plus. Unfortunately, Merc advised they cannot add the Driving Assistance Pack to the Premium Plus model. Some issues they have. Also, I have not purchased the car, it is part of the salary sacrifice scheme at work. £498 per month. Includes, fully comp insurance, yearly service, tyre replacements, curtesy car, roadside assistance, accident management and road tax. Would never buy it outright ridiculously priced. Arrives in July. Excited.
What provider is this please? My firm uses Octopus and the prices are way higher than this and have been for some time. Or did you get a limited time/stock deal?
@@joshjames829 Tusker. Fleet company who manages my firms EV car leases. Not a stock car.. Fully spec'd to my requirements. Mind you, I did order end of Feb, so prices have changed since then
It’s the fact that I had left the phone in Cinematic mode, something I now check before doing the interior. Apologies, lesson learned and will double check whenever I now do videos.
As with all of these EVs built on combustion platforms, they just aren’t as good as they should be due to the compromised packaging. I’m not convinced by tiny 3rd row seats either, put in seats and adult can use for short journeys or don’t bother
Thanks for the good test. Some comment. Seven-seater? Just forget about it. Unusable back row. And three in the middle row? You won’t be able to do that with child seats. So only suitable for a very select family composition and application. If you have a family with five children, buy a decent suv or a minivan. And if it’s not electric, then not. This car is not sufficient and is therefore too expensive.
If you’re using car seats then the back row is perfect, this is perfect if you have kids under 6ft ish, if you regularly need to transport adults forget about it this isn’t for you.
Thought about an ev but still overpriced for what you get as the cost of living compared to hybrid cars especially servicing costs looked at a few evs not a lot of difference between servicing
I’d go with the BMW. I like the Mercedes, but the BMW drives better. Although as I am now driving an iX2 for the next few months, I may feel differently after that!! Ha ha!!
15:20 Maybe tell your camera guy to go easy on the bokeh effect, and maybe focus on the dash instead when presenting it, instead of that blurry mess. It's not a bloody tik tok video...
So, there is no camera guy, just me with an iPhone. The issue is I didn’t change it out of Cinematic mode when I moved inside (something I now check as a matter of course). Apologies for the oversight and I’ll make sure I don’t do it again!
No apology needed! I actively encourage feedback on the reviews as it helps me understand what you guys who are watching think of them and where I might be going wrong slightly.
I’m sure it could, but we don’t do that. We go into more detail and give more information for a more thorough, buyer-centric review. There are a lot of channels that do 20 minute car reviews, so we need to be different and stand out a bit more, hence why we do longer videos. Thank you for watching however and giving your feedback. Every comment is appreciated and relevant to us.
Sorry you feel that way. My point is very few UK based media channels give kms. Same as we use miles in performance figures (mph) and £Sterling in our pricing section. We can’t give every stat for every market I’m afraid. We do respect our international audience, but as I said, we can’t give every scenario and hopefully most people can convert using their own resources. Sorry that you feel that is a reason to leave us.
So, first of all, thank you for your comment. It’s very much appreciated. So allow me a few minutes to try and explain why our videos are so long. When we moved AutoEV from being a printed magazine to a TH-cam channel, the automotive review landscape was crowded with big names such as Carwow, Electrifying, Drive Electric, etc. Many of those channels have big personalities presenting on them too, so how could we stand out? What would separate AutoEV from these others? We decided to go into more detail, focus more on what might be important to actual car buyers and give a more in-depth review. Especially in an era where online purchasing is becoming much more accepted and carried out. If we could give more information and be the last review someone watches before buying, it would stand us apart. So we went against the norm and went long….. Now we know it will cost us views and subscribers, but it’s now become our standard of you like. Many manufacturers like the fact we are a bit different and deliver this level of detail to prospective customers. Anyway, I felt it deserved a response explaining why we do this longer review. I hope that helps you understand why we do it, but appreciate it won’t be appealing to everyone. I do hope you stay with us and watch more, but if not, thank you for taking the time to watch and put your view across. Every comment is read and considered, so thank you for the support. Bryan.
I hear you, but our reviews are aimed at car buyers and therefore include a lot of detail. We often get asked why they are so long, and that’s why. We need to stand apart from the competition as our media space is very crowded, and we do so by being much more in depth with more detail and information. I hope you understand, but thank you for taking the time to comment.
Looks as others have said, It's overpriced for a car that is nothing better looking than a MG, Mercedes have to do better, my carpark at work is full of them, not impressed. You need to build a EV from the ground up.
It’s not just the exterior. The level of quality, the ergonomics, the way everything is thought out and works perfectly in a Mercedes, is what the price is about. You can’t get that cheap, not even from China.
The best review of the EQB facelift model on all of TH-cam.
Thank you. Very kind of you to say so.
Yes agree

Have you watched our Kia EV9 review? Or the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo review? Lots of dog cameos in those ones….

I've got the 250+ AMG Line Premium Plus coming in August and I'm really excited!!
Same here!
Yep me too (November though).
Is this how long you have to wait?
September on my 350 premium plus - getting impatient already!
How is it going with the car?
Great review as usual!
Thank you.
Thanks very much for the review! I've decided to go for the 250+ premium plus. Really wish the sun roof came as standard on the lower trims.

Not for me, I got this car (well the 350) and it was the same price as a Kia Niro, or a Hyundai Kona.
@@robbiedolan340 me too, I can’t understand why it’s the same price as a Niro
@@DA9891 it's just the depreciation In value, Merc will always hold it's value more than a Kia.
We got a great lease deal on the top of the range 350. Cheaper than the ev6 and ioniq 5 that we were originally going to get.
Great video just a shame about the front interior footage is badly out of focus so would have liked to have seen the front better than was shown.

Wireless Charging starts at the AMG Premium now :/
Got mine last week, AMG exec.
Disappointed that rear air vents don’t come as standard
Thanks for glagging this up. It help me pay attention to the rear events in the 2nd row for my two kids!

Because we are a UK based channel and we use miles in the UK. The same way that pretty much every UK based motoring media does - even Top Gear.

People who need 7 seats have bigger problems than bad car design taste.

Massively annoying mouth and breathing noises. Makes the video unwatchable
