£5000 is a bit much for a weeks fishing , thats a boat trailer and outboard Oo admittedly an old one , but i have seen 23 foot wilson flyers go for that .

I have looked at your local area and I can see a lot of sandy beaches and sand accessible from piers. There should be flatfish right on your doorstep. I would target them using worm baits and small thin strips of fish, fished on the bottom. Hope this was helpful, tight lines brother.

So far i have no experience of freshwater in Norway other than some small sea trout in a river but the many lakes look great for pike, perch and trout so I'll be bringing my float tube over.
I've fished a fair bit in my time on Norway visits and for sea fishing at least in Rogaland, it only seems to be immigrants that fish, and not locals. Is fishing not seen as a fun activity in Norway for locals, or are they more snobby about what kind of fishing they do?

Sea fishing for me was terrible in UK this year but amazing in the week i had in Norway.
Norway can be just bad home, sometimes. I driven all the way to Bødo, in the winter. For 2 weeks fishing and all I caught, was a hagfish😬
