This is the only video I found that actually shows a genius way of fixing this. All other vids I've seen have you replacing the entire cable Assembly.. this guy saved me a bunch of money and hassles! Thanks bro 👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks for the video. All the vendors state that the Dorman 926-111 kit will not fit my 2007 F-250 superduty extended cab, but it fit my truck just fine, and was very easy to install.
Thank you Sir, very clear words and good camera angles. My 2004 F250 right small door bottom latch fails, ordered 8 tips for complete repair. Your vid is very helpful.
You absolute genius! I need to get my rear doors open, and I didn't even think about taking the latches loose instead of trying to get the frickin cables to do the work while the doors are shut!
Thank God I watched this video first and it saved me a lot of time and money . This is the only video that directs you to the dorman repair kit that worked like a charm
i've watched a few of these now - this one is the BEST.... had some bad camera work early on but, super camera work for within the panel locking attachment. for my needs, 2008 ford super duty - THIS ONE helped the most. especially about the remove the top lock bracket first - to open the door. thanks
Excellent Video none of the others showed how to repair the actual cable end with the repair kit and thanks for making the effort to get your camera inside the door and showing how to seat the upper cable in the U shaped saddle, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!! One more thing I found out is that you have to replace the cones on BOTH ends of each cable this requires 2 X- 926-111 kits which gives you 8 ends to replace with new metal ones, When you remove the top latch I suggest you use a string to lower the latch inside the door to an area where you can work on it.
I am getting ready to do this exact job and had watched another video but the guy was outside after dark with lights. Love the view that you gave iside the door, very helpfull.
Each end of both cables needs an aluminum cone, with that odd one (round with a flat side) going to the top lock mechanism. Make sure that the plastic cable (with the metal core) “bottoms out” near the end of the aluminum cone - not somewhere in the middle - just like you stated. Those plastic holders with the yellow catches can also be released with a small, 5/16” socket (with a lot a wiggling) or, more easily, with small to medium needle nose pliers squeezing the two “ears” & pushing the holder free. Your way works better for people either larger fingers. Very good video !
@@OurCabinInThewoods welp did it today.. both doors were inop. Couldn't do it the way you did as I have NO access to that top bracket. Didn't help that m in Tampa area and it's blasting hot... 2 A/C break, 1 jump in pool break, and I'm done... then a long pool break!!!
Ok this was 2 years ago - but do you remember what size the torx bolts were? Thought that they were size 40 - however I managed to strip both torx heads.
Good info and great cam work! I bet this is why my fUrd doors won't open. Damn, i miss the 60s/70s cars when things were simpler. Almost every problem we have now, you have to watch a damn video to fix it!!
OK, thanks. Just purchased the 4 chrome cable stops. Three of the 4 were round at the top and the fourth was not. Should it have been 2 round and 2 not round?
OK, I run into a problem. As can seen from the attached picture they sell the cable stops in a package. There are 3 large diameter stops and 1 modified. See picture. Which 2 go to which door? Thanks in advance 3:40
Aaah Doors! I did a van conversion and removing panels is like a reverse engineering project. It's pretty amazing how they make and put some of those components together. Good job.
@OurCabinInThewoods we watched your video thougherly and started attacking our door as per your directions and our problem is as exactly as you said. We've ordered the parts and will get it sorted. It's hard to get help here in Australia for F Trucks, so glad we found your video. We will be following you and be in contact for more tips as they arise. Happy Monday to you all.
@@OurCabinInThewoods No worries. Turns out it is T40. I have the exact same problem where both the top and bottom holders are broken! It's like your video was made just for me!! LOL. I'll be doing the other door too as a preemptive strike. Again, thanks for making it easy to follow and understand.
Having the same problem, but, rear doors won’t open, I might just get two boxes of the Doorman clips and do both sides of the cable on both doors so I won’t have to deal with it anymore
I was thinking when you said you was doing to replace the one cable why not replace both ...then you said the other was broker ,at least you don't have to go back in there . I always l ike your videos, even tho I won't be don't any of what you do on your channel I still enjoying it
I tried to put Amazon link to the parts! TH-cam deleted them...oh well. I'm excited as I have two trucks with these problems! Hopefully I can figure it out. Parts were like $6 for 4 of the pieces needed. 56% lower than normal! Got two packs coming! Thanks again

Front seat not the problem , its the back bench as it does not move . I picked up a 14 inch 90 degree pic that I believe will work. Thanks for the reply.
The second cable end piece you put on is in the wrong place and will eventually fall off. I'm not sure how it stayed there in the first place. The kit came with 4 pcs. if you had replaced all 4 like you should have you would know exactly where the odd shaped one went.
Just what I needed! Got a 2000 f 250 I’m fixing up and the back door won’t open. I tried to do the work while in the back seat and just no way while it’s over 100 degrees! Going to go get the kit to do it right.
Difficult photography that doesn't always show what is being talked about. Overall, a pretty well done video. I can use it when I have to. The doors on my 2001 350 are getting stodgy, so I will do it before it becomes a harder fix to do than if I wait until later. Thanks for your help with this annoying problem.
Please don't take this as I am trying to be a know-it-all. I watched your video a few times actually. and at 13:33 seconds you discover that one of them is shaped differently than the rest. So I went and did some looking for the parts because I have the same trouble with my 2004. and I found that odd part you should have used on the other end of the cable up by the bottom of the top latch. If you click on this link.i.ebayimg.com/images/g/qdgAAOSw9NdXtK7x/s-l1600.jpg . You will see that end was made to be used on the bottom of the top latch. It is cut that way because it's the only way you can get it into the bottom of the top latch is to have those sides cut off.I am glad I watched your video because I am a big guy like you.I was going to try and remove all the trim from the inside of the door while standing outside of the truck.
