    Are you running Full Size ASICS at Home? How is that working out for you? Any special setup you had to do?

    I have a similar dry cooler and it's pretty annoying for the neighbors and it is oriented toward their house like you had suggested.

    Fascinating video. Loved it!! One odd thing I took away from it... you buried your downspouts but have an overflow installed. Shoot, I should have done that with my buried downspouts. It has been fine, but a key "just in case" feature as I have had one time where the sump outlet which is connected to 2 down spouts was plugged. And yes, would be great to have the radiator hidden, but it would trap the warm outlet air and might cause a higher air temp on the input side. Putting it over by bushes might not be as pretty but will be easier to perform any maintenance and should be better for temps unless... is that area in full sun any part of the day? That might make the area between the sheds better as it will be in shade the entire day. Maybe Fog Hashing has recommendations. Also, how weather proof is the unit? Is it made of steel so if animals get on it and scratch off the paint will it rust? Anyway (had to put that in there or you would think someone else wrote it LOL), great video!! Can't wait to see the install.

      Woah, Long Message! So all the downspouts in my neighborhood are underground. This was new to me when I moved in. Kind of Nice honestly. As for the placement of the Dry Cooler, that area is in the Shade most of the day. The area there between my neighbors and me, stays shaded most of the day, the way the homes are positioned. Good thoughts and feedback though, keeping it out of the sun all day. This will be a fun project, looking forward to it ... famous last words.

    I would see how loud it is at 100% fan and if the hoses aren’t long enough you can go to a hose making company for hydraulic lines.

  • @andrewmartino6144
    @andrewmartino6144 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Those hoses are actually Hydraulic hoses. They will never get damaged... trust me lol. At work I had to cut one that was only a 3/8" hose and had to use a saws all to actually cut through it. They are very expensive hoses which shows quality. I'm sure the rest of the unit is quality and probably much more expensive than the DGX coolers.

    Did you have to get an electrician or anything to meet the power requirements for these asics?

    Put the tank in the basement mining room. You already got everything there... holes to outside, power, network, etc.

    How does the 660W compare with the air-cooling fans you will be removing?

    is this too keep the miners cool? Whats wrong with normal fans blowing air into the miners?

  • @grosboute

    Why not use one of the "dryer" vents that was for the S19 to pass the tubes and wire? No need to drill extra holes.

      @T.G1G 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My thoughts exactly. You can rig some end caps with pvc running through to make the diameter smaller for wire/hose pass through

    THM very nice unit, I tried immersion back in the day but was limited with expansion if you want to run 10-12 BTC miners and some of my mining location are in apartments, so I had to go with external fan air cooling for both overclocking and noise reduction, but yeah if you are mining in a house and only want to mine with 2-4 miners that’s an awesome ready to go option, I like it, do they have custom hose length you can order?

    • @TheHobbyistMiner
      @TheHobbyistMiner  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The kind of "all in one kit" was really appealing to me. So going to run 2 at my Place/Shed and the remainder of my ASICS at the New Shed. I did not see a Custom Length Option. I bet the right AC Guy could cut them down and adjust.

      @@TheHobbyistMinerVery sweet kit, and I do think it can take 15min to setup if you don’t have to cut any holes for the hose going outside, seems like just 4 hose connection and two power lines to connect and you are done, adding the liquid / miners that will be additional time, but man not just all in one but very simple and ready to go design.

    • @TheHobbyistMiner
      @TheHobbyistMiner  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah these things take me all day, lol. Especially with the miners and all.

    Don’t you just “LOVE” when companies print damming labels on their shipping boxes?!
    Let’s just throw this nice, big, black BTC logo on our box for all to see!
    I recall a tv company who intentionally designed their shipping boxes to look like it’s a bicycle in the box rather than a giant tv. That’s the way to do it!

    • @TheHobbyistMiner
      @TheHobbyistMiner  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      haha Right!?? The entire outside of the box is marketing.

    I wonder why they put the pump on the hot side of the oil? Would the pump not last longer if it was being cooled on the return side?

    • @DrizzyBiloxi
      @DrizzyBiloxi 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the idea is that if something happens to the coolant line, it will only drain the overflow reservoir and leaving the ASICS still coolant so it doesn’t overheat

    I'm building out my home set up in small steps, using solar deployment as I go..so right now I have 5 KS0s, 2 L3s running 75% of day. Luckily, I have a commercial wse to run my big machines.
