It was, 'I Put A Spell On You' she was 9yrs. and 2 months old when she recorded this song. Angelina was three years old when she said she was going to be a Super Star international singer. Her grandmother Mery Zamani introduced her to the Jazz greats. Angelina fell in love with Billie Holiday. She later said if there had not been a Billie there wouldn't have been an Angelina.

Absolutely phenomenal performance from Angelina, the first two little girls in the video are Angelina’s cousins her managers children, the eldest girl is Angelina’s sister Juliette, production input from Angelina’s Grandma who is also a talented artist and poet, the pianist is two times Grammy Award winner Rob Christie the musical director of Republic Records who Angelina signed with at the age of 14 years old, Angelina is paying tribute to Elvis with her black outfit and her red guitar 🎸 and Pricilla Presley hair style, Cover of a Cover as the original artist Mark James who wrote and recorded Suspicious Minds didn’t achieve with his original, then Elvis covered the song and it was a hit, great reaction thanks 🙏

yeah he took the original and turned into a bit of up tempo rock/pop. The lyrics are not a happy story so the tempo didn't really fit. Mark James the writer and first to record did it slower. Angelina's is my preferred version as well. th-cam.com/video/mFP0EP-Oi2I/w-d-xo.html

Absolutely what I expected. She made this her own song and she did it beautifully. I noticed Juliet sitting there she is going to be as beautiful as Angelina one day.
Elvis' version is great, and it still is one of my favorites. but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own.
When I first heard this song I loved it and put it at #3 on my playlist (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.), about midday I moved it up to #1. The main thing that changed my mind was the power in her voice. I'm not talking about loudness I'm talking about the power she has regardless of how loud or soft she sings. This is a quality that I haven't heard from anyone in my 83 years. This voice has become so unique that it is totally unmatched.
Her phrasing in the last bridge is great. And she got Elvis’s ‘Oh Yea’ at the end of the song.
The pianist is Rob Christie (3 Grammys), he is the head of the Republic Record department that is responsible for Angelina and other singers.
The two small kids are her uncle Mike's kids, and the older girl is Angelina's sister.
If you haven’t already reacted to her latest studio version of Whitney Houston's version you should - here’s the link - th-cam.com/video/iX0g99jN26U/w-d-xo.html

Her first US Album is expected to be released this year (2023) after she finishes High School. Angelina's rabbit hole. You guys hear that all the time. When someone first enters the rabbit hole they're not sure what to expect but they enter willingly because of all the intrigue. They might imagine it to be a very cozy place but once down there you discover Angelina's world is massive and her world is bright with rays of light pouring energy over everything and everyone. It's not a time to think about anything. Feeling the love in the moment is everything. When it's time to reenter our world we do so with Angelina's love tucked away nicely in our heart and our friends and family look at us strangely wondering why we seem to be so 'different'. They will come around to understand. Lots of people have so many things on their mind they don't spend time to appreciate beauty when they see it. As if it is a distraction. They will come around. "Hmmm, is that Angelina Jordan's rabbit hole over there? Okay, I think I'll take a moment out of my busy day and take a look at what is going on." And we reply, "Hello, brother (sister), Welcome to the wonderful world of Angelina Jordan!"

Yeah! She’s something special, isn’t she? Power & Pure Velvet Perfection! This vocal arrangement was all Angelina, I have no doubt in collaboration with a stellar team including Rob Christie & Mery Zamani her Grandmother. She is a Master Storyteller. The video is shot in the same Antique Store that she did 'My Funny Valentine' on Valentine’s Day. I believe it is in LA near her home. I believe the girls in the video represent Angelina's Journey from infancy to present through the classics of music history. Thus the Antique store, She grew up studying and performing these classics. That is Rob Christie on piano. Sister Juliette and a couple of Uncle Michael's Babies. I think that makes them cousins not nieces. Full Black Leather Bodysuit, the guitar from his concert in 68 and the hair a homage to Priscilla Presley. Yeah! She can bring tears to your eyes.
I base my interpretation on my knowledge of Angelina's journey from an 18 month old little girl singing a "classic" of music history 'I Will Always Love You' . She has been listening to these classics on repeat on YOUTube since then under the guidance and inspiration of her Grandmother Mery Zamani.
She has been performing these classics since her first time in studio at 6 yrs old.. She has continued this journey through her 1st introduction to the world with her "Classic'" 'Gloomy Sunday’ and following with her many performances at her many Jazz Festivals, TV performances, Concerts, and charity events, studio recordings and practice sessions at home accompanied or not. The location in the Antique store represents these classics (like the furniture) of another era. To me she portrays wonder at all these classics surrounding her. as she has travelled this road. Her tribute to Elvis is at her present age, today, each stage represented by her cousins and sister and ending with Angelina herself on the couch still admiring all this history surrounding her. The beautiful rendition of the song, and other tributes are in the leather outfit, Guitar and hair a tribute to Priscilla. Just my interpretation but it makes the most sense to me. ♥👣👸🏻

What a glorious production, praise to everyone involved, so perfect for Angelina Jordan she rules the universe with her talent. Again, the great talent of Rob Christie playing the piano. The Cinemaphotography, a total MASTERPIECE, Excellent ART Cole McCarthy! Great touch, the cousins and sister get a cameo. Mery, you should be so proud, AJ's grandma produced this. (This red guitar is identical to the one Elvis played in his 1968 concert on TV.) Oh, the tears, and loss of breath, she is like no other in the universe. Here is a classic example of what this ethereal talent, Angelina Jordan, can achieve she takes a mundane song and turns it in to phenomenal classic. Angelina at 16 is the MASTER of her universe, she is top priority for both Stargate, and AJ's voice has been unique since she was 7 years old and now at 16, she controls us as an audience, leaving us hang on every word and phrase. She has written a number of songs.

Angelina's career so far has been mainly live performances, some TV appearances including Norway's Got Talent & AGT, and TH-cam and other social media. Her family wanted her to finish school first, which she just did. Her first Republic Records album is coming out late this year. I think that's why more people haven't heard of her yet. She had a big live appearance on the world stage earlier this year when she sang at the FIFA: The Best awards with producer/artist RedOne. Now that you have a taste of her cover style, how about listening to her original 7th Heaven, live from summer 2022? Here's a link: th-cam.com/video/_Bo88l1aFDI/w-d-xo.html

This is my 106th time experiencing this video, and each and every time it gets better. We must give credit to the support team behind this phenom. There is no one on earth that can match the talent of this STORYTELLER. AJ deconstructs a song then reconstruct it to make each individual hearing it feel it was written for them, a love letter to their comfort zone.
Melrose Gallery is the same antique store in Hollywood that she used for My Funny Valentine
AJ plays guitar, keyboard/piano, violin and flute. Don’t forget she writes music and was the youngest author in Norway to publish a book.
No loud band, no light show, no dancers, just two instruments to accompany the MAGIC that Angelina Jordan brings like no one else can.
At 7 she was killing us, at 16 she is taking us places we have never been.

Thank you for returning to Angelina. Your reactions to her performances are always worth watching.
The song was written by Mark James, an American singer/songwriter, who recorded it the year it was written. The best known version, however, was that done by Elvis Presley. It was his last No 1 song. In the Wikipedia entry of the origins of the song, Mark James is said to have remarked "That late one night, he was fooling around on his Fender guitar and using his Hammond organ pedals for a bass line and came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James's wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of."
Other singers covering this song invariably base their performance on that of Elvis, in that it is very "upbeat". Angelina took a very different path in that she read and understood the lyrics and what Mark James intended when writing them . To my mind, her rendition is much truer to the emotions of the song.
The children appearing in the video were Angelina's cousins Aurora (first) and then Athena - daughters of her uncle Michael Astar, and then her sister Juliette. I would hazard a guess that they were included to emphasise that children are very important to Angelina and her family.
Confession! I have never been a great fan of Elvis Presley, although I do like some of his earlier recordings, and I had never heard of the song "Suspicious minds" but knew that Angelina would completely take ownership of it, and she did. It was beautiful. After listening to it several times, I decided to download the lyrics to see whether she kept to the original structure. She didn't, and the song is all the better for it. For me, that she started with the Bridge of the song is very significant and, I feel, very indicative of Angelina's "up front" transparency. She was declaring that it was important that their love did not die, and then carries on to say why she feels as she does. Others first say how they feel and then, almost as an afterthought, assure their love they don't want it to end. For me, it is whether I feel the singer is genuine about the situation and wishes it could be resolved or whether the singer understands the situation but thinks the blame is on her/his partner but feels the need to assure them they don't want it to end (until somebody else comes along).

The entire video is a nod to Elvis’s 68 Comeback special. Her hair is styled like Priscilla Presley’s was in the 60s. The black leather outfit is the same Elvis wore on the special. The piano player is dressed in red as was his band. The red guitar is a very similar to the guitar he used in one of the special’s production numbers. Her version of the song was released when the Elvis 2022 movie came out. Red and gold are the two primary colors that are in the movie poster and the opening of the movie. Angelina began covering popular Elvis song when she was younger. Off the top of my head, I remember Now or Never, Are You Lonesome Tonight, and Welcome to My World.

My interpretation of the symbolism of this music video: First, and foremost; Angelina Jordan at 16 is the epitome of a Storytelling ARTIST, and she has the ability to take us by the hand and lead us down an imaginary path that we visualize as reality. The remarkable fact is that we experience this in each of her performances. In this video we see her as a married woman in her mid to late 20s. As the video starts out, we see dishes, and it is a symbol of a home. As AJ sings the phrase “Were caught in a trap, I can’t walk out” we see 3 small children, this to me is a marriage where the children come first. If it were AJ by herself, she would not stay in a relation without trust.

Angelina’s bee hive hairstyle was an homage to Priscilla Presley because that is the hairstyle she had when Elvis embarked on his 1968 Come Back Special. Everything about this performance is about paying homage to Elvis and his ‘68 Come Back Special. As, we have to expect Angelina displayed tremendous respect to song writer, Mark James and Elvis rendition and arrangement of Mark James’ song.

FYI Elvis covered Suspicious Minds, he chose to speed it up from the way it was written. Mark James was the writer and his original was slower and more of a country version. th-cam.com/video/mFP0EP-Oi2I/w-d-xo.html

Please, this has nothing to do with Amy Winehouse. The hairstyle is from that time, and a tribute to Priscilla Presley. The setting is a tribute to Elvis’ 1968 comeback apperance. Her leather suit, the guitar and the pianist’s suit.

Elvis's cover of this song - by Mark James - was not the original... I believe Angelina's evokes the real emotion of the original better than Elvis's.

You guys are pretty funny. Having fun is the way to go.
She definitely channels Amy, among many others.
She has done 7-9 Amy covers. It would be a great marathon.
I suggest "Someone Like You" at 13, "All I Ask" at 14 and "Easy on Me" at 15 or 16.
You will find every iconic song she covers she takes to the next level.

Elvis' guitar, video produced by her grandmother, piano played by her producer at Republic Records, the youngest girl in white is the daughter of her manager/uncle and the older girl in white is her younger sister. She surrounded and protected by family. When she sings, you can feel the hurt in her voice that she is not trusted; she emotes better than anyone. You feel her songs and well as hear them. She did a cover of Amy Winehouse 'Back to Black' with Norway's Public Radio Orchestra; the video is the second take. She rewrote some of the lyrics to make them age appropriate in the car on the way to the studio. th-cam.com/video/LbXUKzOxACU/w-d-xo.html

The Hagstrom Red Guitar used in this video is a modern up to date copy of the one Elvis used in 1968.
The Hagstrom Red Guitar belonged to musician Al Casey, a member of Elvis’ backing band during the special in 1968. According to an accompanying letter from Casey, he was asked to let Elvis use the guitar by the producers, as they "thought it would look beautiful on camera and with the set."

Elvis Presley’s 1942 Martin D-18 acoustic guitar may have recently sold for $1.32 million, but fear not - another of the King’s axes, this one his cherry-red Hagstrom Viking II electric guitar, famous for its use in the legendary '68 Comeback Special, is hitting the block.
