The redwood forests were virtually wiped out and there is very little virgin forest left anywhere in the US. It will be hundreds of years if ever before there is anything like this again because many species are extinct in their natural state.

One question why do you put the tarps or blankets over the ends of the logs. In the US they put a substance called anchor, seal over the ends of the logs to stop them from checking. But....Being from the United States, and having worked in manufacturing most of my life, I watch these videos, and chuckle to myself, thinking "What an absolute OSHA nightmare. No hard hats, sandals, very little in the way of protective gear on and around the machinery". LOL

We've been doing this for generations and people mostly don't care about lifeguards! It won't help when we work carelessly and when an accident occurs, insurance won't help either.
What possible use is that thick slab at the end? If it's going to be a table you could make 4 slabs out of that and have 4 tables!

It doesn't look as though they are processing much, their log decks are full, ah now I see why, the operation is rather primitive. If the owners of this mill want to get those log sawn before they rot in the hot tropical sun, they should invest in an optimized where logs pass through in minutes instead hours or maybe days. I would bet there is a good overseas market for lumber from tropical trees. You have to spend a little money to make even more. You are joking of course 9330o.
PS: I don't know what type of wood that is but it sure is pretty and as wide as it is it would make some dandy paneling or massive table top.
