If I had a Daughter I would pray that she would be just like you young lady. Your love of and the incredible enthusiasm you exude for your family's Ag operation is commendable! Kate, you and others like you are the future of Farming! I know your Dad can be hard on you sometimes, but I'm sure you recognize that he loves you and that he is mostly just being mindful of your safety and well being. He has such a incredible wealth of diverse knowledge that he knows you must learn and from what I can see, he is not only a great father, but a amazing teacher as well. Take in all the knowledge that he gives you Kate, because most of what he is teaching you cannot be learned in any classroom, and as such it makes the learning experience incredibly valuable. I obviously do not personally know either you or your Father, but I believe I know the type of man that he is... He's the man who values family and traditions above all else. He regards honesty, respect and loyalty as core values. He believes in working hard and smart to achieve his goals. He prides himself on finding the best solution for any given challenge, treating others with trust, respect and honesty and expects the same in return...But most of all, as your Father, he is the man who will always give you exactly what you need to know to be successful in life, so that when he feels that you are ready, you will possess the necessary skills, knowledge and confidence required for you to oversee and manage the successful multi generational Farming operation that his Father before him worked so hard to create, which will one day be yours. I pray that you will always be proud of who you are, where you come from and for the incredible things that you will accomplish in your time Kate and I hope that you will continue documenting your evolution into the exemplary Farmer that I see you becoming! May God always bless you and your family.
This comment is reaching so dam hard, her old man is a horrible teacher, i couldve easily taught her everything without being an ass the entire time, step 1 make sure she understands what she is doing at home in a non stress situation before sending her out on the dam freeway, my god wouldve i been pissed if he was talking to me like that, if you call that good teaching you are one dumb motherf***er
Guys, what's with all the negative comments, we were all there once. Farming is a tough game to be in so shouldn't we be commending her for wanting to carry on the family business, I'd be as proud as punch if she was my little girl. Keep it up Kate, it'll all just click into place one day, wish there was more like you here in the UK x
She wouldn’t be allowed near a truck in the uk or anywhere else in Europe’ imagine if she lost control of that truck and wiped your family out ! You would be proud of her !
Kate, you've got the best attitude. When your Dad got in panic mode, (can't blame him. Rolling backwards is not good) you got back in the saddle afterward and finished the job. Well done!
You are very mature not reacting to your dad with any hostility when he gets anxious, there are so many women that dont get that we get excited when things need to happen…subscribed!
Just too cute ! The enthusiasm, the honesty, the willingness to let her learning, and her nervous instructor(dad) be on the video. She puts herself in a very vulnerable spot yet she is so honest with us. I so appreciate the honesty!!! Just a note from a medically-retired truck owner-operator; your seat was not adjusted properly for your size. Some time in a less stressful area, such as the farm fields, to/from the yard/shop. And you have enough respect for your father to thank him after a seemingly nerve-wracking driving assignment. Good for you young lady, you are adorable ! Your Dad is a treasure, especially the last couple minutes to “buck you up” with some earned confidence compliments ! That is a good instructor, little nervous, but good !
Thank you for your wonderful and kind words!!! Yes you are totally correct and we found out the seat was broken and wouldn't move forward. My dad had it repaired!
Awesome job. A tip from a 30+ year veteran of the trucking industry. Slide your seat farther forward. You shouldn't have to shift your body position to depress the clutch to the floor. If it doesn't go far enough forward for you, put a cushion behind your back.
No worries, I was a 27 year old adult when I learned how to drive a big rig. Nice job, this is why my wife teaches my kids how to drive. Glad to see you sticking it out with old Pops teaching you. Keep up the great work.
Keep it up Kate! You can do it girl! I admire your courage to try something so intimidating. The look of success on your face when you got the clutch right was priceless. Good job teaching dad! That's the way I learned with my dad too. I was driving a semi with a 75 foot dump trailer when I was just 15 years old. Thanks for bringing back some cherished memories with my dad too. I look forward to watching some more of your videos! I grew up farming too so be safe and have a blessed day!
I think younger people learn much better when the person teaching them isn't stressed out and impatient. I had flashbacks of when my farther taught me how to drive lol.
Hug your dad, Kate. He was so patient with minimal yelling. At my age 70 my husband still becomes inpatient when i make farming booboos. Love you are educating general public about the source of their food & the work it takes to reach the table.
Kate, you should sit in that truck with-out starting the motor and slide the seat forward until you can comfortably extend your legs to get full travel on the clutch & brake pedals. Your lower back should remain against the seat-back while doing so. When you get that right, you will feel much more in control & confident.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing, you're sitting on the edge of the seat and you're stretching too much to press the clutch. Lol you shouldn't have to put your elbow on the backrest to push yourself more forward. As far as the clutch issue, hold the brake and slowly release the clutch, you'll feel the truck start tugging then you release the brake and it'll roll forward, won't roll back on ya. You can get a ticket for the truck rolling back like that
Your dad is super patient and teaching you real life skills. Real "teach a man to fish and he can feed himself for a lifetime" skills. You're VERY lucky to have him.
Patient? Really? Super patient? I wish I had you as a friend ! The best teachers talk less not more. We usually know when we need to work on something.

Give your dad a big hug for teaching you. It takes time. Everyone has to learn. If u never stalled a vehicle u wasn’t learning. I kind of was gritting my teeth when you started to roll back
Thank you so much for your great and encouraging words!!!!! I agree that I have to do things wrong to learn. Sometimes it is hard to remember that though!! LOL My dad was sort of freaking out when I rolled back!!! LOL

I think you did a great job, Kate! Way better than I could’ve done and I’m 50 years old. Those lessons from your dad are absolutely invaluable. Good luck & I wish you the best in all of your future endeavors! 💖🌷
Ok, so obviously this young lady is attractive and all. What I enjoy about her is her enthusiasm and work ethic. I love the spirit she exudes. She enjoys life like a kid opening their most anticipated gift. It's also interesting seeing the big machines and all that goes into such a vital industry. Thanks for sharing this content. I'm also impressed by her ability to handle herself in high stress situations. Overall, she's pretty badass.
Kate you are an awesome Young Lady...! 💪👍 You are an Inspiration to watch and wish you only the very best Kate... Your Dad should be very proud of such a Daughter... 🙏☝️🌬️🐑🕊️
You're so blessed to have a great dad that takes the time to teach you so much! It's refreshing to see you jumping into the seat to try new things out while keeping a positive attitude and still smiling during stressful times.
it's so good to see you and your dad together. it's like your dad has seen everything a 1000 times so nothing surprises him, he's very cool calm and collected, and you are always really excited because you're seeing and doing new things for the first time every 5 minutes.
LOL!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for your hilarious and kind words!!!!!!!!!!!! I just love the "you are always really excited because you're seeing and doing new things for the first time every 5 minutes." hahahahaha
Your having a hard time with the clutch because your seat needs to go forward some more so your back is against the seat, you have nothing to push against when your pressing the clutch. You probably have the seat as far forward as it would go, It must have been very uncomfortable to drive such a long distance with nothing to rest your back against, so hats off to you
Hey hey mighty good job young lady I remember the first time I drove one of those automatic kind of things I didn't know what the letters meant for I was racing driving or being confused there's an old man I'll stick with the 13-speed 18 speeds for the good old-fashioned 5. And 4
@@KatesAg Practice makes perfect! Learn to start that rig on a small incline with no trailer, then with an empty trailer, then with a full one. You eat an elephant one bite at a time....
You did a great Job driving and unloading this Truck, Everyone has to start somewhere, And you are far away from being a BEGINNER. Keep up the good work and keep the great disposition that you have, Your Old Man is a Winner.
I find that women are often there own worst enemy, convincing themselves that they can't do a "man's job". However, you Kate, are an inspiration. Your bubbly nature, positive attitude and "can do" approach, all combine to make you a great role model for young ladies everywhere. Also, you exhibit great respect for your environment and the people in it. You made a few mistakes driving that freightshaker, but mistakes are how you learn. Even the best drivers did not get there without making mistakes (your Dad included, I'll wager).
Dads will be Dads, We are and can be pains in the ass when it comes to teaching. Your doing a great job under pressure, your staying focused. You’ll make mistakes but we all do but that’s how you learn. Stay in Beast Mode, you’ll be fine👍💪🇺🇸
Wow Kate! Just happened to come across this video. Geez! You triumphed that long ago in the semi. Doubt if you will see this comment but anyhow...well done Kate on so much progression at such a young age. Oh! And of course thanks to Dad. :) :)
Driving truck is a learning process so don't feel bad if you don't know something and always remember if you don't know ...... ask questions . Everybody had to start learning at some point . I can say the problems you had with this truck were not your fault . I drove truck for 21 years before becoming disabled and I could see that the seat is back way too far to where your dad even had problems reaching the clutch . I don't know if it's possible but I think it would be a big help to you if that seat could be moved forward . It's extremely hard to clutch when you can't reach the pedals properly . If you can't move the seat maybe you could find something to put behind your back to hold you more forward on the seat . Another thing that would help with clutching is to use a truck that you have to clutch while shifting and just practice going thru the first 3 or 4 gears then stop and repeat . This will help build up the muscles in your left leg and that will also get you better at using the clutch as well as getting you used to shifting when driving other trucks . Hope these suggestions help .
Yes, I've noticed in two different videos, one where you're driving this semi ...and the other the Freightliner, your seat has always been too far back for you to easily work the clutch. In the videos, you always are twisting your body just to push in the clutch, you need better control over this reaction. The suggestion in previous comment of maybe a seat cushion back to help keep you more forward on the seat should make working the clutch much easier. I get you're learning a tremendous amount, but having easy control over the clutch & brake is a necessity. (Reminds me when I first learned to drive the old Ford tractor when 8yrs old. I was so light I had to pull against the steering wheel to push the clutch in. Fortunately, I was heavy enough to make the brake work. -hehe) Best wishes for your continued education on driving these heavy rigs. Safe travels.
I give her dad credit in teaching her, but I respect her for trying to drive a 18 wheeler truck with a load not too many people would even try especially at her age. I went to school after retiring and went over the road for a few years not a easy task. Respect to the truck drivers bringing our goods to all the stores and farmers.
Thank you so much for your kindness! I agree that truck driving is not easy and we should really appreciate truckers because they have a difficult job and they have to deal with crazy drivers and keep everyone safe!!!!
Wow you are only 16 years old and you're driving a great big truck and doing a pretty decent job. Most girls your age are just trying to figure out how to drive a car. Listening to your dad brings back some memories for me and some of them aren't all that great. People don't realize farm kids out of necessity have to learn to do things at a very young age. I did like the comments your dad made. He said most people go to school to learn how to drive a truck so I think he was really complimenting you.
I love how you showed your Dad mentoring you during your video! You have great confidence and very attentive to your Dads direction! You have driven better than most, and probably all new guys here in Canada that have been driving for a year or more on your second trip!
Hello from Montana!! Thank you for your wonderful and kind words!!!! You made my day!!! It is really a big learning curve to drive fully loaded semi-trucks!! LOL

Awesome your doing this at 16 you are so far ahead of people your own age your going to be successful your dad is a great dad to teach you everything in the business i wish you the best of success you are a smart young lady
I drive trucks here in Australia . Don't worry I would be like your dad 😁. I laughed when he said get out and you kept your cool . He just wants you to do it right and not get hurt as trucks are not a toy . Turn right Kate RIGHT 😂😂. Very impressive driving I think well done . A lot of people would have edited the getting admonished parts out
Well done and keep on doing. You'll get better with time. It's great to see your dad teaching you so carefully. It looks like you needed to get the seat forward by a bout 6 or 7 inches , because you clearly had no hip and back support when you were operating the clutch. Without that support (something to push against) you will not gain the fine motor control needed to make that clutch behave they way you want it to. Even your dad looked to be too far from the clutch, but that may just be the camera angle. Good luck and keep on truckin'.
Great job driving I am impressed at your age how accomplished you are and your positive attitude, Dad may fuss at you but it's delivered with love great videos keep it up.
Thank you so much for your kind words and wonderful encouragement!! I'm very grateful my dad will take the time to teach me! I'm probably driving him crazy!!! LOL
Greetings 👍, I can give you some advice, the seat is very far away, you should move the seat forward, so that your leg is closer to the clutch, the driving position should be comfortable, to have control of the clutch, the pedals of the trucks They are hard because they are rods, the most modern ones are softer. excellent work, in life you learn like this,
Good to see you aren’t afraid to leave those learning curve moments in the video. We all make little mistakes while learning. Most would edit it out and claim they were perfect. It takes time to learn new skills. So, good on you willing to learn new skills!
Thank you for your wonderful comment and kind words!! I have a lot of learning to do and I make a lot of mistakes. I think that it is important to show that everyone makes mistakes and you just have to try to better the next time!!! I'm really trying hard so my dad's hair doesn't turn white! LOL
I thought the same. I thought is was nice to see Kate show some "not so pleasant moments" but learning moments. And awesome on her part to comment on your positive thoughts. From a farmer in Ontario Canada.

Never moved grain before I’ve always moved bulk liquids. The auto shift tractor I’m assigned to is a P.O.J. (Piece of junk) I have to fight the shift patterns every time I drive and am glad there is a button for manual shifting. Keep up the good work. 👍
auto and auto-shift is terrible for accelerating and decelerating. But cruising they are great. (From an extra space perspective). but I always prefer manuals.

I think you did a great job, Kate! Way better than I could’ve done and I’m 50 years old.
Those lessons from your dad are absolutely invaluable. Good luck & I wish you the best in all of your future endeavors! 💖🌷
Thank you for your wonderful kindness and great encouragement!!!! You made my day!
Thank you for your huge compliment and wonderful kindness!!!!!
Kate you are an awesome Young Lady...! 💪👍
You are an Inspiration to watch and wish you only the very best Kate...

This young lady is so sweet, so smart, so skilled, what an angel.
Hanging there DAD you're doing great dad stuff.
Thank you for your great and kind comment!!!
You're so blessed to have a great dad that takes the time to teach you so much! It's refreshing to see you jumping into the seat to try new things out while keeping a positive attitude and still smiling during stressful times.
Thank you for your kind words and great encouragement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it's so good to see you and your dad together. it's like your dad has seen everything a 1000 times so nothing surprises him, he's very cool calm and collected, and you are always really excited because you're seeing and doing new things for the first time every 5 minutes.
LOL!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for your hilarious and kind words!!!!!!!!!!!! I just love the "you are always really excited because you're seeing and doing new things for the first time every 5 minutes." hahahahaha
One of the most adorable, endearing, and enjoyable person on TH-cam. May God continue to bless your dear family and you. ❤️👍❤️
Great job Kate you will soon be out on your own, wise words from your dad he's a excellent mentor, stay safe and keep smiling.
Thank you so much for your kindness!!!!!!!!!!!! I totally agree with you that dad is a great mentor and I'm lucky to have him!!
Your having a hard time with the clutch because your seat needs to go forward some more so your back is against the seat, you have nothing to push against when your pressing the clutch. You probably have the seat as far forward as it would go, It must have been very uncomfortable to drive such a long distance with nothing to rest your back against, so hats off to you
Thank you for your great advice, kindness and great encouragement!
@@KatesAg get a seat cushion for back support
I was thinking the same thing.
Hmm! It's automatic this is the problem! #SMH
Hey hey mighty good job young lady I remember the first time I drove one of those automatic kind of things I didn't know what the letters meant for I was racing driving or being confused there's an old man I'll stick with the 13-speed 18 speeds for the good old-fashioned 5. And 4

Thank you for your wonderful kindness!!!
Good enthusiasm Kate.
Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!
You did a great Job driving and unloading this Truck, Everyone has to start somewhere, And you are far away from being a BEGINNER. Keep up the good work and keep the great disposition that you have, Your Old Man is a Winner.
Thank you for your wonderful kindness and terrific encouragement!!! I was only 16 and I am really learning a lot. You made my day!
Enjoy your dad - listen to what he says and you will be valuable help to him.
Keep up the good work
Thank you for your wonderful advice and kindness!!!!
I think this is great listen to your Dad. He's got the knowledge too pass along to you.
Thank you for your terrific advice and wonderful kindness Mr. Carpenter!
Thank you for your wonderful and kind words!! Women can do anything, I totally agree!!! You made my day!
Awesome that you don’t get frustrated! Learning from your father can be difficult.
Thank you for your wonderful kindness!!!
Dads will be Dads, We are and can be pains in the ass when it comes to teaching. Your doing a great job under pressure, your staying focused. You’ll make mistakes but we all do but that’s how you learn. Stay in Beast Mode, you’ll be fine👍💪🇺🇸
Thank you for your kind words and great encouragement!
Thank you for your kindness and great information. The seat needs to be repaired because someone broke it and didn't tell us.
НА ТВОИ АНГЛИЙСКИЕ ЯЗЫКИ Я НИХУЯ НЕ ПОНЯЛ.
She's still cute. And good for her learning to use that clutch.
Thank you for your wonderful kindness Mr. Chittenden!
So many women can barley drive a small car yet this girl is driving big rig. so nice to see ladies in big rigs
Thank you for your terrific comment and amazing kindness Mr. White!!!
what a proud dad and excitable daughter,Love them both!!

Hello from Missouri - You are doing a great job! I have 3 Daughters and you are a great role model for them!
Thank you for your huge compliment and amazing kindness!!! You made my day!!!! Hello from Montana!!!
Its so cute!, Typical dad and daughter interaction during a new driving experience and she's doing great!
Thank you for your kindness!
You did an excellent job driving the truck. You will only get better at it.
Thank you so much for your kind words and great encouragement!!!!
i could feel your stress and your dads frustration at the same time lol
LOL! Thank you for your great comment. It was an interesting day!!!!
I agree that truck driving is not easy and we should really appreciate truckers because they have a difficult job and they have to deal with crazy drivers and keep everyone safe!!!!
love this. Wish there was more content like this online. The world would be a better place if there was
Wow you are only 16 years old and you're driving a great big truck and doing a pretty decent job.
Thank you for your kind words and great story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cuz she's got awesome parents unlike a staggering number of kids these days
You did so good! Dad was so good explaining to you!
😲 Wow, my daughter is 18 and she hates driving! She just doesn't want to drive at all.
Doing same job on youtube your visit will give me courage thanks
Love 💕 from Dash5
I love how you showed your Dad mentoring you during your video! You have great confidence and very attentive to your Dads direction! You have driven better than most, and probably all new guys here in Canada that have been driving for a year or more on your second trip!
Thank you so much for your kind words and great encouragement!!! I really appreciate them!!!!!!

A lot of people would have edited the getting admonished parts out
Thank you for your fantastic story and wonderful kindness and great encouragement!!!!
Props for hopping in the driver's seat. Big rigs are intimidating for a newer driver.
Thank you for your terrific comment and kindness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Drive it like you own it". That was great.
hahahahaha! Thank you for your fantastic comment and wonderful kindness!
Kate, you and your dad are awsome. Have patience listen to your dad, practice, practice, practice your rolling in the big leagues.

The fact that you’re still young and you’re driving a semi truck is powerful 😎🙌🙌🙌
Thank you for your great comment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are a good student. You will go far. Dad is an encouraging teacher. It’s a pity that seat doesn’t come forward a bit more.
Thank you for your wonderful kindness and great encouragement Mr. Reimers!
Kate, you have a wonderful Dad.
Thank you!!! I totally agree!!!
Wow. Just found this channel randomly, but I love how you show your struggles with the truck. Most people wouldn't do that. Absolute respect.
Thank you for your wonderful kindness!!! I am learning and I really do make mistakes!!! LOL
Well done, ignore some of the negative comments. We all got to learn. Take care. From the UK England.
Thank you for your amazing kindness Mr. Walker!!! Hello from Montana!
Thank you for your kind words and great advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL
You go girl!!!!!!....first time I ever seen a young lady behind the wheel of a semi......you are doing well.....from us in South Africa....👍
Thank you for your kindness and great encouragement!!!!!
Greetings 👍, I can give you some advice, the seat is very far away, you should move the seat forward, so that your leg is closer to the clutch, the driving position should be comfortable, to have control of the clutch, the pedals of the trucks They are hard because they are rods, the most modern ones are softer. excellent work, in life you learn like this,
Thank you for your wonderful kindness and great advice!
Kate your doing great. Just stay calm an don't be hard on yourself..An listen to your experienced truckers Like your DaD. It will take a little time.
Thank you for your wonderful kindness and great encouragement!
@@atwoodca She was raised right! Always thankful and courteous. Good kid. I wish more were raised that way. With the same willingness to do the hard and difficult path that almost always pays off with much more than money or things could ever do.
Thank you Kate for sharing your learning experiences. I really enjoy your videos. You are a very sweet and respectful young woman .Keep it up!!
Thank you for your huge compliment, amazing kindness and great encouragement!!!!!!!!!!!
*I salute truckers everywhere their job is essential it is the backbone of our society and more need to say THANK YOU to appreciate truckers more, so I say thank you!*
Thank you for your fantastic comment and amazing kindness!!! I agree we must thank truck drivers!!!
@@KatesAg I have a sign cardboard it reads THANK YOU TRUCKERS + FARMERS to wave when I see a rig go by, though maybe that’s unsafe, I’ll think of something else maybe

That's the most I ever seen your Dad talk. 😀
LOL!!! Thank you so much for your great comment!!! He really had a lot to say this time!!! LOL
Jee Wiz dad set that seat ahead so the girl can reach the pedals ! Then might have to adjust the steering wheel ! That would help her emencly ! Itl wouldn't hurt to be less gruff with her . It's amazing how cool headed she kept herself under the circumstances and with you grinding on her ! Especially being on video to top it off .
Thank you so much for your nice comment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like watching Kate on here she's so cute and I love the way she talks.
Kate yrou need day of just driving around empty and learning little at time , that truck with that transmission is crazy with that clutch to bad its not complete automatic but you did great , I taught truck driving for long time , God bless and bee careful your little girl yet so don't let dad yell to much 😆,

Lmao at Dad. Great Guy. Love his Honesty and Humor. Best way to learn is jump in and just do it, shes in good hands... p.s. fix that seat! Seat needs to be moved forward and you will feel 10x more comfortable.
Thank you for your kind words, great encouragement and advice!!!
Forward and down. Shouldn't have to lift your ass off the seat to push the clutch all the way in.

Never moved grain before I’ve always moved bulk liquids. The auto shift tractor I’m assigned to is a P.O.J. (Piece of junk) I have to fight the shift patterns every time I drive and am glad there is a button for manual shifting. Keep up the good work. 👍
hahaha! Thank you for your great story and wonderful kindness!!!!
auto and auto-shift is terrible for accelerating and decelerating. But cruising they are great. (From an extra space perspective). but I always prefer manuals.
