Called them cannons but they're pretty obviously beam emitters, so Overload it is. If they were true cannons, I'd go with Rapid Fire at that close range instead of possibly wasting energy with random missed shots using Scatter Volley. Just for fun, throw in Tac Team and the Anchored and Point Blank Shot starship traits. And don't forget the DOFF that gives the bonus against Elachi. :D
This species origins are largely unknown. They were first encountered by the Earth starship Enterprise in September 2151, when an Elachi ship hounded them for several days before being driven off. Amongst the Romulans, there were stories of miners that operated past the Eridan Belt who discovered alien beacons of unknown origins. Furthermore, they encountered alien beings that moved past their outposts magnetic barriers and scan the miners before disappearing. However, little was known of these mysterious aliens except that the beacons left behind referred to them as the Elachi. Despite a Romulan presence on such worlds, the creators of the beacons never appeared and the encounters with the creatures were dismissed as paranoia. Colonel Hakeev of the Tal Shiar forged an alliance with the Elachi to further his plans following the destruction of Romulus in 2387. In January 2409 the Elachi began to systematically attack independent Romulan colony worlds including Virinat, Crateris, and Delta Corvi. The colonies themselves were destroyed, and the inhabitants abducted for then-unknown reasons. The attacks were assisted by the Tal Shiar, including Hakeev who personally oversaw the destruction of Virinat aboard his flagship, I.R.W. Khnial. ( “Virinat, Invaded”, “Crossroads at Crateris”, “Cloak and Dagger”) The Elachi also assisted the Tal Shiar in their efforts to thwart the fledgling Romulan Republic, concealing warbirds in the Khitomer System and helping Hakeev develop new indoctrination methods to boost "recruitment" at bases such as Installation 18. They also attacked Republic bases such as Rh'Ihho Station and the Tephrei System. ( “Turning Point”, “Installation 18”, “Abducted”, “Last Stand”) Midway through the year, an RRF officer posing as a Tal Shiar agent learned from Taris that the Elachi were a servitor race of the Iconians, an ancient race planning to invade the Milky Way after hiding in the Andromeda Galaxy for 200,000 years. The Elachi served as the Iconians' proxies in Romulan space, working to undermine the Republic and prevent unified resistance when the invasion came. ( “Revelation”, “Taris”) Weeks later, a warbird crew managed to capture a S'golth Escort (nicknamed Target Alpha) and use it to infiltrate Station Alpha, the Elachi base of operations, in subspace. There they discovered the purpose of the abductions: the Elachi were using the captives as breeding stock to create more soldiers. The crew managed to destroy the station, and shortly after thwarted a vengeful assault on New Romulus with the help of a Republic/Starfleet/KDF fleet. The surviving Elachi retreated back into subspace, beaten for now. ( “Turnabout”, “Devil's Choice”) Following the accidental reactivation of the Iconian gateway network later that year, another Elachi invasion force emerged from subspace in the Jouret System to take control of a gateway located there. The Elachi were repulsed by another joint fleet. ( “Sphere of Influence”) In 2410, another Elachi base was located in subspace, this time accessed from the Delta Quadrant. An away team led by the crew of the R.R.W. Lleiset boarded the station and recovered a number of humanoid captives, as well as Empress Sela (who had been captured by the Iconians the previous year). The station was eventually taken by the Republic and held for study. ( “What's Left Behind”)
This time traveling D'deridex class Warbird is really pulling a fast one on the Enterprise, flying at them backwards and partially decloaked with only the dorsal spine, shuttlebay and "wingroots" visible. Crazy Romulans!
After they said range 1000m….there was so much delay…they would have passed right by each other…unless both ships slowed to manoeuvring speed. On the plus side….This scene held genuine tension, built expertly to a climax…a bit like the old Sub vs Destroyer Naval movies of the fifties. They don’t make ‘em like that anymore, despite all the modern hi tech production…so this was nice to see done well.
why I love Captain Archer and ST Enterprise. the lack of proper shielding and technology enjoyed by Starfleet of later years, he did so much with so little.

Shroomies is the name of the species in this episode 🙂 A bipedal species, from an unknown star system. This species and their technology were unknown even to the Vulcan database. They chased Enterprise NX-01 in September 2151, and did not respond to hails. Then they returned several other times, causing significant damage. During one attack, this species activated a dampening field, while two of its crew boarded Enterprise. They were fired at by Captain Archer, but a phase-pistol he carried had no effect and they soon left. (ENT: "Silent Enemy")

Some more info about the species in this episode and excuse me for repeating about them 🙁 Apocrypha See also: "Shroomie" starship The Star Trek: Enterprise novel A Choice of Futures interprets the Shroomies as the mute inhabitants of Gamma Vertis IV mentioned in the Star Trek: The Original Series third season episode "The Empath". They are referred to as Mutes and Vertians. Star Trek Online identifies this species as the "Elachi" - they play a large role in the storyline for Romulan Republic players, carrying out abductions and attacks on the Romulans. Later, during the "Iconian War" storyline, they are shown to be allied with the Iconians as a "servitor" species alongside the solanogen-based lifeforms encountered in TNG: "Schisms" (identified in-game as the "Solanae"). In the "Awakening" storyline, players learn that the Elachi are native to the mycelial network. Players work alongside friendly Elachi, JahSepp, and a holographic recreation of Astromycologist Paul Stamets to prevent time-displaced House of Mo'Kai forces from using the network to power a superweapon.

0:43 - 0:55 That alien starship is a Shroomie/Elachi/Kovalaan warship. It's a really cool ship. I've made this ship out of LEGO's. History: In September 2151, this vessel of an unknown species destroyed the subspace relays Echo One and Echo Two. It also attacked the United Earth vessel Enterprise NX-01 twice. The third time it attempted to do so, Enterprise was ready for it and, using their newly installed phase cannons, damaged the alien vessel to such an extent that it fled the scene at high impulse. It was never seen again. Technology and Armament's: As a 22nd century starship, this vessel was highly advanced in a technological regard, possessing strong shields and technology that prevented invasive scans from other vessels. It utilized a powerful energy weapon that fired green, crescent-shaped pulses. It had a crew of at least fifteen individuals, and carried at least one shuttlecraft. It also had the ability to emit a powerful dampening field, which could effectively disable an NX-class starship. Background information: In the script for "Silent Enemy", this craft was described as "sleek and dark, so dark, in fact, that it's difficult to make out against the blackness of space." The CGI model of the alien ship and its shuttle was made by Brandon MacDougall. See Drex Files. [4](X) [5](X) Early design sketches of the ship can be found at John Eaves' personal blog. [6] The Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 1, p. 441) identified this type of vessel as a Kovaalan starship. In Star Trek Online, a larger, 25th century version of this vessel exists and is identified as a S'golth-class escort. Their owners are called the Elachi. The Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 1, p. 441) conjecturally identified this species as the Kovaalans "based on the fact that the alien ship in "E²" was a digital reuse of the digital model in "Silent Enemy"."

Good old Beam Overload 3
I prefer fire at will, also, their cannons so scatter volley 3 would be best
Called them cannons but they're pretty obviously beam emitters, so Overload it is. If they were true cannons, I'd go with Rapid Fire at that close range instead of possibly wasting energy with random missed shots using Scatter Volley.
Just for fun, throw in Tac Team and the Anchored and Point Blank Shot starship traits. And don't forget the DOFF that gives the bonus against Elachi. :D
Add a little high yield 3 for the coup de grace
Thank god it was an Elachi S’Golth and not a Sheeshar!!!!
Startrek online gamer :D
Beam overload, critical hit, CritDx4
Beam overload with bonus Aux to Sif w.o. draining aux.
Against the Elachi to boot!
BOIII, with THYI.
I thought it was [CrtDx3] [Over]? :D Or maybe [Dmgx3] [Over]?
or just Beams Fire at will and Torpedo spread for dealing with the Mirror Universe.
Khnial. ( “Virinat, Invaded”, “Crossroads at Crateris”, “Cloak and Dagger”)
The Elachi also assisted the Tal Shiar in their efforts to thwart the fledgling Romulan Republic, concealing warbirds in the Khitomer System and helping Hakeev develop new indoctrination methods to boost "recruitment" at bases such as Installation 18. They also attacked Republic bases such as Rh'Ihho Station and the Tephrei System. ( “Turning Point”, “Installation 18”, “Abducted”, “Last Stand”)
Midway through the year, an RRF officer posing as a Tal Shiar agent learned from Taris that the Elachi were a servitor race of the Iconians, an ancient race planning to invade the Milky Way after hiding in the Andromeda Galaxy for 200,000 years. The Elachi served as the Iconians' proxies in Romulan space, working to undermine the Republic and prevent unified resistance when the invasion came. ( “Revelation”, “Taris”)
Weeks later, a warbird crew managed to capture a S'golth Escort (nicknamed Target Alpha) and use it to infiltrate Station Alpha, the Elachi base of operations, in subspace. ( “Turnabout”, “Devil's Choice”)
Following the accidental reactivation of the Iconian gateway network later that year, another Elachi invasion force emerged from subspace in the Jouret System to take control of a gateway located there. The Elachi were repulsed by another joint fleet. ( “Sphere of Influence”)
In 2410, another Elachi base was located in subspace, this time accessed from the Delta Quadrant. An away team led by the crew of the R.R.W. Lleiset boarded the station and recovered a number of humanoid captives, as well as Empress Sela (who had been captured by the Iconians the previous year). The station was eventually taken by the Republic and held for study. ( “What's Left Behind”)
Elachi shit bags!
And Hakeev deserved more than he got,the ratfuck bastard!
A wonderful touch if you play as a Romulan, you get to pull the trigger on him rather than Obisek.
It’s too...bright in here.
@motrhead 69 One can only fantasize, my friend.
Yeah. That's a 30 second modification.
Just let me get the jumper cables out of the trunk of my shuttle craft.
flnthrn2 it’s not as simple as flipping a switch 🤣

Starfleets first encounter with the elachi
Looking at the presentation picture - YOU DO NOT SHOOT at Moya like that ! That's criminal
I miss this show!
As do I.
I miss Jolene Blaylock in a dress.
This is one of the best episodes of Enterprise, minus the Reed's Birthday backstory!
Really? That one was the best? Its terrible
This was the best of all of the modern star trek series. It always felt much more real and grittier than the others.
The beagle sniffed them out and heard them coming two systems away!
I am always in when it comes to space and science fiction. I need to look for more channels like this, but I'm lazy. Much respect.
No problem, CBS have a great little thing here.
I get to have a scene from ENT that i like and they get money from it.
Aliens: 😂 we will seize your vessel
Luitenant Reed and Trip: Hold my beer!
Binged watched the entire series...good shows....
Too bad it ends after 4th season.
@Steve Riddle Same here too.
Infinitely better than std aids will ever be.
Muhammad. Why Did it end in season 4th
You say it!
@@jdbarr769 Grow up, kid.
In Trek its usually the torpedoes that had the punch but in Enterprise they sucked ass until the photons.
One of my favorite episodes...now I feel like some pineapple.
why I love Captain Archer and ST Enterprise. the lack of proper shielding and technology enjoyed by Starfleet of later years, he did so much with so little.
Loved Trip saying that they could install the phase cannons on their own instead of heading back to McKinley Station. If they ever did, it would just be a. Wash and Wax! They recalled waxed that alien ship!
I really liked The Enterprise. Nice to see this again. Thanks
Elachi S'goth Heavy Escort. STO FTW.
After viewing the episode back then, I was curious about the unknown ship. So I'm still disappointed that they didn't do more with that unknown race.
They did in Star Trek Online, they are called Elachi, and they have Spore Drive Tech...
@@Takanuva18 non canon bs
@@RetrievingSearain lmao...its Canon and the ship is called an S'gloth escort. Star Trek Online is canon and is the last pillar of the old franchise. It contains all the original actors as their own characters and contains everything Canon-related. Theyre also in collab with pretty much all the shows.
@@felixdesjardins4030 I was referring to Discovery. So unless the spore drive existed prior to its inception, it's non canon bs.
@@felixdesjardins4030 Dude. Star Trek Online is NOT canon. Stop being ridiculous. ONLY ON-SCREEN MATERIAL IS CONSIDERED CANON BY PARAMOUNT AND CBS. But yes, you are correct. They are called the Elachi and they were thought to have been a servitor race to the Iconians.
I actually really like this episode,it's not great but it certainly kept me interested
The shroomie's cut and pasted "You are defenseless" threat was trolly and hilarious. I'd like to think the Elachi have a sense of humor about these things.
This music score could not have been more perfect. At 2:20 it really makes it feel like nautical warfare; order, wait, think, repeat.
Shouldn't torpedos have already been locked and loaded?
Nah, makes the ship nose heavy . . .
you cant have armed torpedoes in the tubes all the time
There's so young at that age they don't think they need weapons so they are unprepared when they do, they learn
@@lyndonlucier791 This is true. They are never always armed. At best, they are ready to be quickly armed and loaded which these were. It only took about 5 seconds to get them locked and loaded.
nope, kind of like how no one ever has a shell chambered in a movie. They always need to have the "Chic Chic" noise so everyone understands there is now a shotgun there.
If anything that attack should have made them head back to Jupiter station faster. They need to report what they found and hand over all data from the engagement.
They can do that through subspace dude.
At very least I'd have summoned re I forcements even a couple of those escort earth ships would evened the odds their. As for a vulcan warship well they would turn tail and run.
IMHO, of all ST Captains Archer is the most intense and hard-nosed, even with all his "golly gee whiz space sure is cool!' moments.
Space the final frontier, these are the 11-pm to 7-am voyages of the Enterprise's Night Crew and it's continuing mission is to PARTAYYYY!!
One of the best ST episodes, ever!
And of course the Elachi forgot about their power draining weapons from the last time.
Shroomies is the name of the species in this episode 🙂
A bipedal species, from an unknown star system.
I really miss this show.
I miss ENT too. - recently re-watched season 3 (the Xindi ark) on NETFLIX - was like watching a epic length film. Liked the characters and the stories got better as they found their feet. Would have loved to have seen the Romulan War foreshadowed more.
@@txrwauy, that's what a lot of people say _now_ , but back in the day, they all hated its guts, constantly compared it to _Battlestar Galactica_ ,and were glad to see the back of it, particularly after the final episode, *These Are The Voyages* . I _can't_ ever get how people can hate a TV show or movie (particularly Superman Returns), and then look back on it nostalgically years later hating a new version (Star Trek: Discovery and Man Of Steel being two examples.)
It lives on on Netflix and Sci fi channel. My favourite series.
They're about to be blown to bits and Malcolm is giving excuses. WTF.
Archer and crew meets the Elachi for the first time.
One of the coolest ST battles ever! Thanks for posting!
Dr who
What a way to fight a war. I can just see this 66 years ago in Korea. "Captain, there are hordes of Chinese crossing the wire in front of our trenches". "Well open the bolts of your rifles". "Very well captain, they are open". " Now listen carefully, insert a clip containing eight rounds of 30/06 armor piercing ammunition into each rifle". 'O.K. captain, the clips are in the rifles". "Now, being careful to not let the bolt smash your thumb, release the bolts". "All ready ca-- Ahhhhhhrgh.
Now to design phasers, where overloading is apart of it's normal function ;)
Need to install purpose built recoil buffers.
One of my favorite episodes.
i LOVED THIS SHOW!!!
jeez... this must be what watching TH-cam back on a 56K dial up connection must be like!
They should've made more episodes. I have binged watched it 8 times already.
ENT was robbed of 3 more great seasons
So was TOS, Maybe they could be animated...😉👍💛
One of their best episodes.
2:15 It was at that moment that the aliens knew... they had MASSIVELY fucked up.
"I have already made the Elachi starship from this episode out of Lego's! It was at first hard to build! But then it turned out easy to build!"
This would have felt more urgent and threatening if they had actually done anything but sit there, waiting for the pink meat bags to argue, question orders, then have a moment of science, more doubts, some shouting, finally 'yes, sir'...THEN push some buttons, wait for the phasers to actually fire, then wait some more for scanning, talking and the torpedo order, button pressing, loading of the tubes, torpedoes firing until they hit. Enterprise seems to be run as a democracy (for some reason) with the most 'military man' always being the first to question any ordery. Are the Aliens using Windows OS? And they dont even have the excuse of being surprised, or out-teched, or at a tactical disadvantage of any kind! ENT has some great episodes. This was not one of them.
i always assumed it was a test by some other race to make sure enterprise was ready to enter deep space as a war vessel, say the klingons or the vulcans making sure humans would survive and make a worthy space faring race to ally with or battle in the future or battle alongside against a common threat... say the romulans or some sort of undead cyborge army/navy of drones that like assimilate and encorporate other species and cultures into thier necro tech empire
I really enjoyed Enterprise. I wish they would bring something like it back again.
This show was so much better than it got credit for.
Enterprise was one of the best star trek series yet just wish they had made more 👍👍👍👍..
It was cool to show the Torpedos Loading
Ah yes, the most annoying for you'll ever have to battle in Star Trek Online.
What about the Vaadvuur or the Na'kuhl? Both space and ground.

The Star Trek: Enterprise novel A Choice of Futures interprets the Shroomies as the mute inhabitants of Gamma Vertis IV mentioned in the Star Trek: The Original Series third season episode "The Empath".
Best star trek series ever
Torpedoes should have been in the tubes ready to go! But then we wouldn't get to see them. :D :D :D
Star Fleet Battles had an overload setting for phasers.
well i mean im sure the overload wasnt in the phasers but in the main power systems they fed into thephasers, which probably had the powerlines protecter turned down for awheile to allow excess power up to a certain point through
Malcom is like, can't do it, guess they will come aboard and kill every one of us...... well, if you really want me to I guess I can try......
Archer: can you overload it again?
Travis: Maybe, but it might take out 2 decks!
Al: ohh, I don't like this Sam.. Ziggy says there's an 82.6% chance you'll blow this ship in half, and if that happens.. Travis and T'Pol will never have children!
Sam (who's leaped into Captain Archer): oh.. boy!
:-)
I don't care what anyone says, he was an excellent choice / actor for Captain of an Enterprise.
the first encounter of the Elachi
The ship looked familiar, but could not remember the name of the race.
The Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol.
Imagine TNG with the budget Enterprise had seasons 1-3. That extra 500 million could have worked wonders
