Paul Spomer hi Paul, I hate to prove you wrong but Carlos is right. anybody that has worked on these sirens including myself knows how a thunderbolt should operate. the agistat timing needs to be turned up more to like 12 or 13, and I can definitely tell it's lower than that. the blower can be wired up the proper way or it can be wired up backwards. judging by this video and my experience this blower is wired backwards which explains why it's winding down very slowly. not criticizing you in any way, just speaking from experience.
You mean...it still works??? I remember seeing that one this last may on my way to Deerwood. I saw one in Deerwood as well. I took a picture of THIS EXACT SIREN on my cell phone as a wallpaper. I wasn't aware it still worked, though. I'm guessing when this one winds down at the end of the "Attack" signal, the other one is the one in Deerwood? First this, and then, I find a Federal Signal 2T22 in Eveleth.
Couple questions: Did the sirens go on 6/17/09? I noticed yesterday when I went down to Deerwood, both the Aitkin siren and Deerwood sirens were pointing in different directions than they were a couple weeks back when I was down there. Gotta go to Deerwood on July 7th. Have to be there by 1PM, so assuming the siren in Deerwood works, I should get to hear a Thunderbolt in person. If not, I could drag my feet and stop in Aitkin a while. :)
@thunderboltlover Well, Aitkin is a very pretty town. It's an example of what a small town SHOULD be. Clean, safe, and rich with beauty. I can only imagine what Aitkin looks like in Fall...
Yeah, I've been through Aitkin. It is a nice town. I think all MN'ers should take one trip to Aitkin. Otherwise, they're depriving themselves of something grand. Chisholm on the other hand. Well, I live here, but the less I say, the better...
Yeah, I'd forgotten how far apart the two towns are. I suppose because I live in Chisholm, it felt like mere seconds between Aitkin and Deerwood because of the long trip from Chisholm to Aitkin. I wish Chisholm would fix our Sparks Withington. We just have a typical Federal Signal 2001 running now. *Yawn*
I only wish I could be in Aitkin at 1PM on the first Wednesday of a Spring/Summer month. (That is statewide, isn't it?) Our 2001 hasn't sounded in a few months. I don't know if it's because of Winter, or if it burned-out again. Seems like in 2009, it was tested in both Feb and March. It's April, and it hasn't sounded once.
BEAUTIFUL! I love the sound of that 1003, it's at the absolute perfect pitch. Fantastic job on your first siren recording!
Boi, that’s not perfect. It’s blower is running backwards.
@@deaderthandead1182 Shut up. Back then we didn't know the effects of reversed blowers
Good stuff! I bet this thing would be crazy scary sounding during a storm!
Jeez... That's the fastest I've ever seen a siren rotate...
@thunderboltlover
I wasn't aware Thunderbolts had choppers. I thought they were blower-only.
Bonemeal2 ...
The blower and rotator shuts off on each cycle. Might be a screwy Agastat.
+Carlos Aponte Its not a screwy agastat. I wired and worked on this siren with the FD. Nothing is wrong. Good observation though :)

its very hard on the blower to start and stop like that
My cabin is in Palisade and I have to go through Aitkin to get there, and I saw this thinking it was a 1000T
Cool that well loud I have tried it with my speakers on full it made every one freak out
love this siren in revered wired!
Beautiful tone
AWESOME! I love high pitched 1000T's. This is how mine is going to sound when I am done with it.
It’s actually 1003 because if I look closely, there are solenoids

Awesome video Andrew! Here's another thunderbolt at 8 RPM!
dude. crystal clear sound. it was pretty high pitched though.
This siren now does fire signal, but with a broken solenoid.
WOW THAT GOES FAST!!
I HAVENT BEEN HOME IN A LONG TIME!!!
the chopper and rotator had a few monsters before this test.

The blower is just going BRRRRRRRRRmmmMBRRRRRRRR every attack cycle I like it tho
the attack signal sounds different from the other thunderbolts.
Wow man that's awesome, exactly what I want mine to sound like!

There used to be one in Glassport, PA that sounded just like this. I'm not sure if it's still there.
engine173351 replaced by an sth 10 :(
Oh wait this is the siren that play hi lo with broken low tone solenoid
Was in town today and didn't see this one. What street?

Chisholm on the other hand. Well, I live here, but the less I say, the better...
lol its a spinnin.
during the attack mode it stops rotating.
love the sound it makes though.
Wow! A Thunderbolt set on chopper level 7 in attack! FREAKEN AWESOME!!! 6 stars if I could!
roof mount and the building like mineola thunderbolt
It's on top of the Fire Department.
thunderboltlover is it still in service
thunderboltlover yes it's still in service to this day. The latest video of this siren is it doing hi-lo but with a broken solenoid.

The siren is like that because its cold outside and it just wants to get its job over with. Duh

It is a statewide drill
That is going fast
I think that after the attack signal, I can here a EOWS 612 winding down
Just the siren itself. It’s*
Ok who put crack in the rotator?
Keaton0801 who knows
Is this still active if so someday I want to go see it!
La Crosse WI EAS I just passed it today, so yes.
La Crosse WI EAS yes, it’s still active, I go up there a lot and it’s the only one in Aitkin
And I am actually going to be in possession of this siren soon lmao
