Dude Anbernic invented the method of same or very slight change to the internals paired with 5-6 different display sizes / resolutions, different housings / buttons / sticks. What Retroid does is basically model refresher sometimes done a bit to aggressively
You gotta be kidding buddy 😂 Corpo do this to continue the trend and ramp the sells of the better “old” one that you’re currently promoting 😂 They don’t intend the “newer 2024” revision to sell well neither to produce more than 1000 units. Welcome to the marketing world my little tinny friend. Shall pet you hard till you growl. They got you hard in this vid if you didn’t got paid for making this vid…
Mate, what are you on about. ? 😂 I am certain they produce more than 1000 units. Did you watch the whole video, I mention my thoughts on why it came to fruition.
This is gonna sound weird but this handheld reminds me of a downgraded Powkiddy Magicx UX10. They're the same price and the UX10 has analogue sticks. I wonder which one is better at the price point. 🤔
A bit late but for anyone wondering, I believe the new 2024 RG35XX has GarlicOS built-in. So, you can switch between the the stock OS and Garlic. You just have to go into the settings and change it. As a retro handheld, I couldn't care less if the device has built-in wi-fi or bluetooth. I'm mainly going to be playing GB Advance games on it anyways. So, I much prefer the 2024 RG35XX
I got the cheaper one on purpose because I didn’t want to spend more money. I play Pokémon only pretty much. So the shoulder buttons don’t mean much 😂 but I can understand why some people would be urked by this. Dumb business practices ruin everything
I find the RG35XX H to be a great addition to my collection, as I don't enjoy playing vertical retro handhelds with back triggers beyond the 8-bit era.
They made it to get rid of everything they had lying around, ie. the shoulder buttons and the stickers. Anbernic is notorious for doing things like this with chipsets and screens when not only do better ones exist, but they have them in their other devices already.
Great to see you making a video Brandon !! Anbernic is making way too many handhelds. I have given up on trying to keep up. No need to keep giving them, and Retroid, money.
The 35xx H has a dumb name but i freakin love that thing. $42 on aliexpress after some frusterating ordering steps (the site is in a new language every time i use it). It was worth it tho its a great little handheld.
The thing is, I love the old shell better for the gray version. They colored in the bezels gray to match the rest of the body and it makes it look like it has zero bezels. I hate how on the new ones they don’t color in the bezel so you have this big black border going around the screen.
@ExhaustedHobbit nah the guy is right. the rg353 series is just flat out better in every aspect than the rg35xx series, including price. ive seen rg353v's as low as around 70-80$ which really isnt much more than a xx plus
The RG35XX-H is great. The Miyoo Mini Plus is great. The vertical RG35 product line however, seems redundant... because the MM+ exists. Original, Plus, and 2024 model are all more expensive ways to get a worse experience.
I hate that the US and Canada don’t have free trade. Most stores that sell this won’t ship to Toronto and the ones that do are selling the normal model for 50 and the plus model for 105. I might just save up for an AnaloguePocket. I’ve seen some posts about the cheaper model failing. The d pad and shoulder buttons seem to break. At least the AnaloguePocket looks like it has Apple level build quality. That way I won’t feel bad about this thing breaking on me and being thrown in the ocean where it chokes out a turtle.
I accidentally bought this thinking it was the original 35xx, thinking that i could have fun modding custom firmwares, but to my surprise, nothing works, even min.ui. now im stuck with anbernic's firmware
i agree. soo much unneeded revisions and tiny "upgrades" that just make no sence. i got my ol rg353 and its gonna be more than good enough for quite a dang good while at this rate..
Came here after seeing the differences in their Indonesian shop. I understand why. Maybe in the US but for Indonesia the differences do stand on their own and the price as well
I like the personality you normally bring with your videos, and though I understand there’s really nothing to get excited about with this device, I do feel like this video was lacking in that regard. I also feel like this review was a little late to the punch - other reviewers got their videos out almost two weeks before. I’m really rooting for you and your brand and I think it would go a long way for your TH-cam game to be among the first to get out reviews for these handhelds!
Hi all in totally new to this retro devices. With so many so the market its minefield. Id like the play n64/ps1 games and everything below. HELP. Looked at anbernic, retro pocket and a mishi or something lol?
Hello there and welcome to the world of retro emulators! Personally, if you're looking for N64/PS1 and below, I would start off with the Anbernic 353V. It has a vertical Game Boy style form factor, it's got analogue sticks which make N64, Dreamcast and certain PS1 games feel much better, it's quite pocketable in size and it's got a 480p screen which is perfect for fifth gen consoles. It also runs both Linux and Android which means you can get familiar with both and see which you prefer. It's also got a great D-pad which makes earlier systems feel awesome too. The Miyoo Mini is great, but doesn't have an analogue stick (making it more suited for SNES and below) and the Retroid Pocket line of systems are awesome but a little bit more expensive than the Anbernic 353V and are potentially a little bit overkill for PS1 and N64 games. However, if you did want to commit to a more expensive device which can handle a lot of PS2/GameCube stuff and upscale PS1/N64 titles, then the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro is probably the way to go. Sorry for the long winded answer there, I just wanted to make sure you knew what options were available! Good luck with your search!
Hi thank you so much for your reply, its much appreciated. Whats the main difference between Rg35xx plus and the 535v? I'm not sure if the analog sticks would bother me as appose to just having a dpad.
The differences between the RG35xx Plus and the 353V are actually quite minor in terms of performance. The 353V is a bit more powerful and has Android which makes it slightly more versatile, but if you're purely playing games and not tinkering too much, the only real differences are that the 353V has analogue sticks but the RG35xx Plus looks a bit more visually pleasing in terms of it's shell. So really, if you're not too concerned with analogue sticks, the dual operating system or the tiny bit of extra power, the RG35xx might be a better choice. It's a lot cheaper too which is a nice bonus!
I love it, i orderd a RG35XX for 34 euro shipped, then recieved the RG35XX 2024 version, basicly got the plus version for price of a a reduced priced RgG35XX! I dont need WIFI or Bluetooth anwyays and MUos is great!!!
Business. Simple. They had to clear out that extra inventory somehow.
Anbernic are worse than Retroid with the constant iterations.
Dude Anbernic invented the method of same or very slight change to the internals paired with 5-6 different display sizes / resolutions, different housings / buttons / sticks.
What Retroid does is basically model refresher sometimes done a bit to aggressively
I absolutely agree. I don't know how to rationalise the 2024 version. It's pretty confusing. Awesome video as always🔥🔥
Retroid almost never does iterations.
i got the rg35xx for 33 dollars so i think its a good deal
You gotta be kidding buddy 😂

Been a while since I've seen him make a video. Been too long, hope he hangs around more.
3:13 did they really put the Anbernic label on upside down?
Anbernic QA in a nutshell.
Yup
Loving my Handheld History book here in Australia. Can't wait for the new one if it's got plenty of game gear and lynx articles!
Nawww thanks for the support!
I'm so glad I'm not the only one confused by this. 😂
Just get the Plus!
Or the h
@@lovelivefestival Or that!
Yup!
Its simple...14 bucks is 14 bucks. To some that may seem like a trivial amount, but to others, every little bit helps.
2024 is now being sold for *less* than the RG35XX. 45$ vs 50$
Stores that ship to Toronto are selling the new one for 105 and the old old for 50 lol.

They probably had a bunch of old stock they used to create this "new" device. Makes more money to sell these than to sell the individual parts.
I find the RG35XX H to be a great addition to my collection, as I don't enjoy playing vertical retro handhelds with back triggers beyond the 8-bit era.
I assume they want to get rid of their old parts?
Likely
'vejazzle' i see you 😳
They made it to get rid of everything they had lying around, ie. the shoulder buttons and the stickers. Anbernic is notorious for doing things like this with chipsets and screens when not only do better ones exist, but they have them in their other devices already.
Maybe make Plus 2024 version this year? Just year upgarde? I dunno xD I have og RG35XX cause iam buying month before came plus version. Sad xD
Great to see you making a video Brandon !! Anbernic is making way too many handhelds. I have given up on trying to keep up. No need to keep giving them, and Retroid, money.

My take?
In china 20$ extra expense is like... 80$ for us?
Or maybe they have to get rid of the old shells and parts?

Counter argument: the Plus doesn’t come in clear purple
I think a better name for the device is RG35XX Minus
Haha so true!
Brown Donald White Richard Allen Laura
Theres a reason to pick a RG 353P instead.
Two wildly different prices, but sure, if you say so.

Thank you for the guide. One of the major reasons for the built-in wifi is for the Pokemon Trading which is awsome!

Business logistics, they're phasing out the old chipset and utilizing the existing chipset stock from the Plus.
Came here after seeing the differences in their Indonesian shop. I understand why. Maybe in the US but for Indonesia the differences do stand on their own and the price as well
I had the original, it broke just a month ago lol
Ooosh
For $64, you can get the best RG35 there is and get a handheld that's almost as good as the $39 R36S.
I agree with everything except for stock os, they did a pretty decent job with the h700 devices compared to the past.
I played GTA but the animation is choppy even the audio is muffled at times does anyone know what shud i do?
👍👍™️
The lack of music is a bit awkward
Noted.

How does the chip/performance compare to the RG353M?
Great video mate but would be helpful if you could put up other pricing currencies as not every country uses dollars!
Sure thing.
Anberic is horrible 😂
Expensive is bad.
