And thus goes dumbest controversy in the history of cricket. None of the Australians deserved the amount of flack they got for this regulation stumping. These goons should probably have a word with Bairstow for being too pudding-brained to not to stay in his crease.
Had that happened on any of the first 5 deliveries of the Over I’d be 100% thats out, but on the final delivery over the over when Johnny leaves a ball wide of off stump and is not attempting a run, it’s the over and thats where the ‘not in the spirit of the game’ comes in.
England can’t defeat Australia regardless of weather Pat Cummins with draw that appeal or not they still couldn’t defeat Australia at home. I’m not sure what the controversy was about. I can actually understand both sides pov at this point from aus pov bairstow already walked out of his crease like that few times before that nd as eng pov that while playing a match bairstow probably didn't even know u had to wait for the umpire to call it a over before going out of ur crease that's the last thing that would cross ur mind playing ashes
And thus goes dumbest controversy in the history of cricket.
None of the Australians deserved the amount of flack they got for this regulation stumping. These goons should probably have a word with Bairstow for being too pudding-brained to not to stay in his crease.
Ben stokes talking about spirit of cricket after what he did in 2019 Bruh
They threw flak at Cummins and Aussies and here they are winning back to back ICC trophies😂
Everyone ignores the fact bairstow literally attempted the exact same thing in the innings prior. The only difference was he missed 😂. What a peanut
Someone please remind Behen Stokes how they won the 2019 WC Final 😂
Had that happened on any of the first 5 deliveries of the Over I’d be 100% thats out, but on the final delivery over the over when Johnny leaves a ball wide of off stump and is not attempting a run, it’s the over and thats where the ‘not in the spirit of the game’ comes in.
ump didnt call over
Ball wasn't dead.
Isn't the same spirit holds true for England who won 2019 icci wc by virtue of rules of boundaries no means fair they should have graciously shared
England can’t defeat Australia regardless of weather Pat Cummins with draw that appeal or not they still couldn’t defeat Australia at home. I’m not sure what the controversy was about. It was within the laws of the game I think England just find things to complain about instead focusing on their cricket ability in comparison to Australia
2:00 anyone notice the finger
Yes.
Ben stokes being himself
What about the spirit on 2019 wc final??😂
Did I miss the footage in this video of Bairstow trying the same thing earlier in the test? Don't be fooled, many of the English who played that day have said it was fair, including their captain.
Bairstow was a habitual offender. Seen him wander out of his crease many a times before this incident.
By that logic 2019 CWC winners are the New Zealand not England
Where was spirit of cricket in 2019 final
Look who is talking about spirit ofgame😅😅
None of the englishmen talked about spirit of game that night of 2019 final
Stokes I would like win match like this but he has already done in 2019 WC 2019..
Uzzie says it all if it is in laws of cricket, and that is, then the spirit of the game is upheld. Don’t like it then change the law.
Is there any spirit of cricket in the world cup 2019 ?
What about 2019 wc final
When you can get someone out like that and its in the rules, then there should be no argument!! Cricket us not played for spirit of cricket!! Anyway, England were bowling 6 bouncers in an over during this ASHES and umpires never gave no ball 😂😂
Its just absurd so how is stumping not in the spirit of cricket its the same thing happened in Bairstow's case batsman play sweep shots foot is out unintentionally in this case Bairstow was out the line but again in both cases its wrong decisions taken by the batsman but wicketkeepers are doing their job so its brilliant sense of mind
Alec Stewart's stumping of Lara, is far more against the 'spirit' of the game....but Piers and other English players must have forgotten about that .... Both stumping's are within the rules of the game ... And Piers himself admitted on one of his shows that " The English players have done some things in the past that don't stack up very well"........
Bairstow did the same thing in a county game back in 2014. He waited 2-3 sec for the batsman to lift his foot, then stumped him. Carey took less than 1 sec to throw the ball.
@@kiz5562 Lol...Its funny how they forget they have done the same/similar actions themself :D :D Even former English greats have said, the Aussie played within the rules of the game....i guess the rules only apply, when it suits one side :D :D
Man, give those 4 runs back to NZ
Brits can’t argue that he was out. If he’s wondering out of his crease then it’s out. England need to stop crying, anyways you weren’t going to win
My take on spirit if cricket is basically they use spirit of cricket for defending the batsman/bowler for example it wasn't Bairstow's fault
Well done Aussie 👌🏻😈...IF IT'S IN LAWS , IT'S FAIR.....
If it's against the spirit of cricket, it should be against the laws of cricket.
but it isn't, and therefore it is well within the spirit of cricket.
Broad smashing one from Ashton Agar and not walking?
Man the avg should have a chant”same old Brit’s always whining same old Brit’s just starts cribbing”
Now Cummins showing levels to ecb 🤐🤫🤫🤫🤫
Dear kids where was your spirit of game when Ben Stokes dropped the catch in this Ashes? He knew he dropped the catch but he still took the review. Where was that spirit of game when starc took the catch but you gave not out ??
Yeah that starc 'drop' was proper rubbish. What else is he supposed to do, get injured by not protecting himself from falling with his hands?
Where is the documentary for this?
They didn’t get the name whinging poms for being outstanding citizens

@@jamespage6628 Michael Atherton 🤡
Don’t matter what happened with Barstow doing it in county cricket and in the innings earlier he tried to do it to us
If I did that in club cricket, i'd expect to be run out/ stumped. Simple as that...
All you Poms do realise is - you lot wrote the laws & it was a legitimate dismissal. And Geoffrey when did you respect the game? You withdrew from the England side for the 1974-1975 Ashes.
Geoffrey Boycott and ethics never went together. Google his assault and battery of his girlfriend
Funny to watch out britis were crying and talking about spirit of cricket….
Where was the spirit of cricket in 2019 worldcup final against new zealand?
Why benstokes didn’t ask umpire to not give those 5 extra runs when the ball hit the stokes while running and went for 4..
Now people will say ohh that was not done deliberately.. Stoke was not aware about the ball hits him…
Still if you are talking about spirit of cricket then at that time stokes must have appealed umpires to not give them those 4 crucial runs..
Stokes, McCullum and Bairstow had to just admit they they were wrong and this "incident"would have died a death. Any they were WRONG!
ABSOLUTE CINEMA 🗣️
~same old pommies, ALWAYS WHINGING!~
Where did the Spirit of Cricket go for England when they won the WC by stealing 4 runs? Why did the England team not refuse to take those four runs?
Honor, integrity and fair play coming from Piers Morgan? PFFFFFFTTTT. He is a man who knows nothing of any of those.
As for the English newspapers, some of those headlines are from the trashiest media outlets ever to exist.
Not england talking about game spirit lol. What a joke. New zealand got robbed in 2019. Be it the boundary count in super over or the 6runs mostake by the umpires. Truth be told. And wc > ashes (only eng ppl will treat ashes more than wc and maybe few australians too).
Of course the Aussies see nothing wrong with it. Nothing has changed, even for the players coming back from bans not so long ago.
Can you show me in the rulebook where the stumping of Bairstow is outlawed?
@@walover165 No he can't.

Jonathan Agnew has form for being biased in a hatred against Australia
Johnny has done this in a domestic match, love the hypocrisy of the spirit
Nah mate what do you mean the spirit of cricket doesn't apply to the all-powerful pommies...
Make such series for Indian cricket team as well
Ahh the "spirit of cricket" is that the same as using sand paper to rough up the ball!!!!!!
Anything in Laws is not against spirit of Cricket. Well said Khawaja ❤ But Cunmins blamed Ashwin for simple Runout of serial law Violating Cheat Buttler. Now showing double standards. Your captain is a dual fox Personality
Boycott: "If Put Commins and his tayme doont know wut stundards are, then ah can't teach 'im". This from the guy convicted of bashing his former girlfriend. Juffrey and stundards are like chalk and cheese

Australia have not done anything wrong here. With them on this issue.

Reaping world cup wins, ashes victories and a general dominance in the sport? I couldn't agree more
Can't believe these Aussie cricketers defending this and talking about the spirit of cricket when they were found guilty of blatant cheating only a few years before! Bairstow was stupid, absolutely yes. If the Aussies want to win at all costs through whatever means possible, well I guess on their usual behaviour, nobody should expect anything else.
Everyone makes mistake. They apologized for it and they even were ban from the sport for 1 year. What more you want from them? Get over it and stop crying cuz this wicket was never against spirit of the game
Mike Atherton did the same thing with gravel in his pocket when he was captain, Faf Du Plessis did the same thing with a zip, Tendulkar has been accused of ball tampering. At the least cricket Australia had the b*lls to do something about it.
@tonybytheway7543 By the way, Tony, at the time of the stumping, no less than 6 former English cricket captains said they had no problem with it. Get a grip man
Yeah its not like the model citizens that are english cricketers ever tried to injure aussie batsmen through a bowling style that clearly took advantage of the rules or anything like that. Damn those cheating Aussies!!!
