We have not had a nice looking currency note since the 1928 series.Even the fractional notes are mini works of art.Our currency today looks like monopoly money.A lot of world currency is not even made of paper anymore.
It would be awesome if the govt released some of these designs on today's money, with security features like they did with the Mirgan and Peace dollars. Same size as today's money but with throwback designs.
I have purchased several coins from your shop. happy with all of them enjoyed seeing the currency so I’ve never seen myself so I appreciate the video. Thank you.
Right! IMOA, our current currency in boring; bills like those shown today and Civil War era bills are beautiful, not mention most other countries in the world. I have currency from 163 countries and it’s all spectacular.
Whatever black eagles you do not submit to grading, please list on website! Almost bought one from antique shop yesterday but vendor wanted 2x retail for one that was all chewed up 😅
The big $20 Gold certificate and the educational notes are my favourites. Theres just too many to comment on but there was so many I enjoyed looking at. Thanks for sharing, and I hope you do well on this lot.
Thanks for sharing Daniel. I agree on the Summit County note. I've seen some of them but many I have not. Wished we had some of that nice currency now a days !
Wow some great currency purchases Daniel...I don't see them up on the website for purchase. I am very interested in the $5 porthole and $5 Indian Chief notes. Lets make a deal!!!
As a paper currency collector,it was cool to watch this.I have quite a few of those you shown. The BEP didn't start until 1862,so ABNCo printed a lot of notes,as well as US stamps. The Educational,Chief, Bison, and the Porthole notes are quite in demand. The last note, Tombstone note, features Thomas Hendricks,Grover Cleveland's VP only for a few months before passing away. For those interested, the book, Paper Money of the US,by Arthur and Ira Friedberg,is an excellent source of info.
Thanks for sharing Daniel. I have some old ones that I cherish. I have been to Boston years ago I got around to other cities too. Beautiful, interesting and fun so much to see there. Hope you're having a great weekend. ☺
So many neat notes. Buffalo notes are really outstanding. About a dozen notes remain from our family bank that closed in 1932. Never should have been closed. Two of the hand signed by great grandfather and great great uncle of the 2nd charter brown backs have survived, 1A and 1D from the first plate , as well as less than a dozen of the newer notes. Of the 12,500 chartered banks I guess nearly 5,800 were closed which of course makes them very rare as the currency was traded in and destroyed when banks closed. There are no known bills for some banks. Truly one of a kind in many cases. Sadly, I have to believe that notes 1B and 1C were lost to a fire in January of 1921.
Those educational notes are sweet looking, definitely one on the ole bucket list. It's a shame that our modern currency has lost the artistry of these old notes. World notes are also enjoyable to collect, loads of interesting subjects from animals to scumbag dictators.
History is at the top of my list of favorite things, but I have to wonder about future prices on historical items. I think GEN X is the last generation that cares about history enough to spend money to own some of it. Gen y and z are too busy staring at their iphones telling the world what they are wearing, eating and feeling every 5 minutes to care about people that lived in the past. So will gen X be able to sell their historical items to a self absorbed gen z at a higher price than we paid for them. Thats the question.
No, it depends on the dictionary definition not your or my opinion on what several means. It's more than 2 and less than many, so $300 to $500 and that is their value in the condition shown in this video.

The Educational Notes are a dream for me to own. They are so beautiful.

So cool being able to tell how excited you are about showing us the $. Makes us excited for you, too.
I have purchased several coins from your shop. happy with all of them enjoyed seeing the currency so I’ve never seen myself so I appreciate the video. Thank you.
Always amazes me how beautiful our currency used to be, thank you for sharing! I wouldn't be in a hurry to sell them either.😄

@@brianhagler4490 Agreed, even the coins were more like art. It was defiantly a different era!
I agree
So nice, I have some but none like you wow.

A few years ago I actually got a 1928 red seal note back in change. It's not worth a whole lot but still very cool to get it back in change.
Nice find.
What a beautiful bill. Thanks for sharing.
I really enjoyed this video on older currency, especially, fractional notes. Thank you, bookmarked!

I am glad you enjoyed these!

I do too!

Thanks and good resources that I own myself.
Do you have any fractional currency bills for sale?
Really nice collection of notes!
The 1891 treasury $2 note isn't a star note, all of the serial numbers end with a star, looks vf35+ nice expensive note
Yeah, had a brain fart as I was going through these. It's on it's way to PMG.
Do you have any currency from North Carolina?
No, sorry, I don't.
Wow what an amazing collection. Great video.
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF OUR CURRENCY WAS FANCY TODAY LIKE IT WAS MANY YEARS AGO!!!!
Just the history...thinking about those times and the wild west makes me smile! 😀🤠
Me too! Love the history behind it!
Very cool stuff! 😎
I always like seeing when the denominations have the "wrong" president on them like Washington on the $2 or Jackson on the $10.
Always cool!
Adds or donations but not both pick one
You're good at what you do. I don't bother with anyone else. I appreciate your knowledge.😊
I appreciate that
Wow! I gasped and groaned. Thanks.
This was fun to watch.
Very nice....I want a couple of those for my stash....just to admire. THANKS Daniel....great video
nice notes.

Awesome video. My oldest is an 1899 $2. Silver cert. Just started getting into notes the last year or so. Really fun to collect
Afraid to ask the price on the georgia
It's a nice note and I would be at $250 shipped, my email is portsmouthcoinshop@gmail.com if you're interested.
Thanks for sharing! I'm not super familiar with currency, but it was still cool to see it all.
Those are some really nice notes. I'll bet they could tell some amazing stories, if they could talk. Thanks for sharing, Daniel. 👍
On the educational notes and one of the black eagles, in the serial number there are crows feet. I know that's what it's called but what do they mean?

I feel like finding a Bison for only "several" hundred dollars is extremely rare. Depends on your definition of "several", though.

@@CoinHELPufair enough and if that’s what you’re selling them for that’s a very good price for a type collector.
@@jbohanon2 I should be more clear, one of them I sent off, the other was a lower grade and condition.
That was was when our money was worth something 😂
i'm rare and old to basically one of the kin lol
The GOP has discussed putting Trump on a $500 and he’s not even dead yet.
