After watching your break 75 with Charlie Hull I was glued to my first ever women's golf tournament and was blown away by the skill and professionalism. So impressive! Thank you for inspiring me to watch. On another note: most golfers do not get the opportunity to try out lots of different brands of clubs on the course and rely on purchases based on someone like you giving a decent review and then sticking with them. If they're not the best looking on the course in two years time, so what.
Excellent podcast as always. Keep them coming.

Sadly that’s one of the problems these days, demo club is a 7 iron or similar. Problem is sheer cost can you imagine making say three irons available for 80% of the sets you see in a decently stocked shop. Even if they have a driving range struggle to get to use more than one iron

Titleist, overall quality of everything is amazing. Footjoy, scotty cameron, vokey, stadry bags, amazing irons, woods are incredible in particular the tsr 3.

    • @jazzyjay4595

Titleist is the most over hyped brand ever. Their irons aren’t even close to Srixon, Mizuno, or Miura and feel like a frying pan. Their woods are nothing close to taylorMade or Callaway woods. Their wedges are alright, I wish they felt softer like Cleveland’s. The putter is trash. Worst performing putters on putting simulators. And saying “oh well everyone on tour uses them” comparing a $400 putter to a circle T is like comparing a stock Ford Fiesta to the car Ken Block used to jump over buses with. The only thing they do great is a golf ball

@@aidangriffiths5075 I work with this equipment everyday. That’s like telling a mechanic that he’s wrong by calling range rover’s garbage. I got to test the t series months ago and everyone at this fitting day all complained about the same stuff with the irons. They feel like a trash can lid and don’t go anywhere.
The putters are so inconsistent in build quality it’s insane. Swing weights are always off. Lie angle off. Lofts all over the place. Lengths inconsistent. That may not matter to your 12+ handicaps but that’s a big deal in my space of the golf world. Stop listening to these social media influencers that shoot 85 from 6500 yards and can’t tell you black from white on the real ins and outs golf tech and fitting

Went to the ladies open on the Friday and what was most impressive was their long clubs into greens so accurate its unreal, as the men's golf is all drivers and wedges the ladies game is arguably more impressive how they get it round so low.

Has often been said pro ladies play like the majority of male amateurs regarding length. Although some women becoming big hitters now. As a result of their their shot length they are very good to study their course management. As most male pro’s hit shirt clubs into green it’s a totally different ball game for them

I've re-watched that Dan Grieve video at least 5 more times. So much information to absorb. To me, it still remains one of Rick's best TH-cam videos ever. I did buy the book too. My struggle is trying not to mix Dan's releases together. For example, I'll try to do release 1, then end up putting in some release 3 steps etc.

For the guy whose friends are ruining his time on the course, I'd say def play rounds on your own! I prefer golf that way though most people wouldn't like it. I'm not out there for the drinking and shenanigans and cranking music from my wireless speaker, etc. I'm in a league, so I'm around that often enough but I prefer to focus on golf when I'm golfing. For rounds on my own, I play one ball against the other so I end up getting twice the practice and it's truly quality time. But, yeah, friends and uncomfortable groups can suck the life right out of the blessed/cursed game.

Luckily most guys I’ve met playing golf have been good, and one lad who I played with just starting his golf journey I gave him tips on etiquette and where we exited greens for next tee shot etc. beginners typically play a bit slower as takes them a bit longer to set up as it’s not so natural for them. But soon sped up a touch b

Have the courage to talk with your friend about your concerns. If they aren't bothered by it thats ok. Try signing up for a few smaller Net tournaments and meet some people. It's ok if people don't take the sport as serious as most of us. Sad that they aren't learning the proper edict and course management but unless you're comfortable addressing that move on. Look up STATE skills from Crucial Conversations. Could give you a format to try that will help with this and dozens of harder conversations. In the end you'll feel better and strengthen relationships with the people you love in your circle. Keep swinging!

One way to possibly address the email is to have your friend bring 2 others instead of just 1. Then those two can hang and you and your friend can still be in a cart together. It can work if you’re in a golf cart anyway. A little less effective if you’re all walking

Does the club have to look nice because it gives you the feeling of still being a pro golfer? Like I have to use an iron that looks like this because I'm supposed to be good enough to use irons that look like this. Do you think maybe a game improvement iron might help since you're struggling at the moment?

Level par for the round is very different from parring the hole. Making epic eagles, hole and ones and many double bogeys would keep it interesting. Personally torn between the two options but leaning towards shooting par every time.

Titleist for almost everything, only grey area is driver but even that is close to or the top with the new version.
The irons, wedges, and putter are simply the best around, then there's the ball, and on top of that I think the release schedule is also the best, love that it's not every year, actually makes you want them more, and because of the way they do it, it is actually a tough choice between the new ones and getting a deal on the prior version.
    Ya it's just simply Titleist...

So many great brands and designs. After 40 years of mediocre golf, working in golf, working in club shops, courses, selling, making, using, etc: If I had to pick one brand: Ping (There in my backyard almost literally, irons, driver, putter excellence, and they will be around till ww3 ends us (and won't be bought by investment companies in the meantime a la: Quicksilver/Dunlop/Cleveland/Srixon/SRI/Sumitomo), One new ish brand: PXG. ..... And as a bag: Driver: PXG. Fairway woods: Tour Edge. Hybrids: Taylormade. Irons: Ping. Wedges: Vokeys (Forged). Putter: Ping If I had to pick one shaft brand: True Temper (TT/Rifle/HZRD) If I could mix shafts: Nippon/True Temper Ball: Prov1x.

    • @ben1ben2ben1
      @ben1ben2ben1 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

No one is jumping to LIV. The Saudis started LIV to force their way into a merge with the PGA. They got that now. They have no need for LIV anymore and if it does stick around they won't be offering crazy big contracts to PGA players anymore

I've recent called out one of my gold partners for his slow play,.. he became upset, but acknowledged his slow play stating its routine, I explain its ok to have a routine just speed it up, as I'm not the only one that gets frustrated wity his slow play. Some people need to be told they are frustrating the people around them.

The PGA Tour needs to standardize and all Players should be playing the same ball. There is no need for 30 balls on Tour.

    • @breakinggates

Different balls work better for different people. You shouldn't regulate a feel item

    • @MOE-db8oc

Standardizing on one manufacturer’s ball to me would mean that balls would stop getting better for us. With no competition for being the tournament winners ball of choice, no money would be put towards making them better and ultimately hurts the average player.

Ladies golf has been exciting great athletes. As to equipment so many great companies all making great equipment so I’d say you look at the company that is strong in every field from ball to driver and that would be Titleist, Taylormade and Callaway. They produce, balls, putters, irons, wedges, hybrids, fairway woods and drivers. Ping also great but not involved in ball manufacturing. Plenty good at irons so has to be the big three.
