That scene where the leader of Omashu's rebellion states Mei's baby brother will grow up to be a killer is short yet so important. The hatred against the Fire Nation is so big that most of them now believe that anyone from the Fire Nation is automatically bad, even those who haven't actually done anything wrong. This is why I love Avatar. It doesn't care that it might be a topic too complex for some kids to understand, it goes for it.
I just watched your Arcane reaction, then found out you were in the middle of Avatar. So excited for you to see the rest. It truly is such a beautiful show, and you've just scratched the surface. I watched it when I was young, but it's maybe the most impactful, beautiful, and lesson teaching shows I have ever watched in my life. Looking forward to see you all enjoy the rest.
I like to think the reason Ty Lee joined Azula was for the protection of her fellow circus performers. As we have seen and will see she can hold her own but the other performers, animals, and audience members would have been at Azula's mercy so she relented knowing that Azula would not relent. She would have continuosly raised the stakes til someone was hurt or worse and the other circus performers turned on Ty Lee. Mai of course has her own reasons...
Also the fact that Ty Lee herself is being bullied, and has always been by Azula. She knows it deep down, but she hasn't found the courage to challenge Azula yet.
It's so ironic to hear Ty Lee saying the universe called a little louder, considering she did have a pretty big role to play on the universe of avatar even being a minor character
I love her too! She's a great complex character that is super capable and intelligent compared to most of the other antagonists in not only this show but a lot of shows overall. She's also a little funny lol

Iirc next is Avatar Day, the Blind Bandit, Zuko Alone and the Chase. 2x5 is my least favourite ep followed buy my fave ep of the series.
