Most important thing for the oil is that it has a high zink content. This protects the rockers and camshaft better for wear. This is what makes an oil suitable for classic cars. Well that and being mineral, but that can be another discussion.

There is so many opinions when it comes to oil for Mini's 🙂. I'm happy with my choice, I've been using the Millers oil for about 10 years now.

@@BlakesDen Miller has the high ZDDP that classics need, so an excellent choice

An experienced engineer once told me that an oil change is cheaper than an engine rebuild. Sound advice!

Maybe it was the rocker cover gasket? That was the root cause of my mysterious oil on the engine

I'm not ruling that out. I'm running a cork gasket rather than a silicone one so it maybe on its way out. Something to monitor.

A question about your front grille side mouldings do you screw them to the grille then the grille to the car?

Good question! If my memory is correct the side mouldings are screwed onto the car via a screw which goes through the grill. It is possible to remove the side mouldings whilst the grill is still attached to the car
