I have found that if I decide on my outfit the night before and put it out, including jewelry, make up and hair, I can look more put together. Doing it in the morning leads to missing pieces and looking like I rushed.
I have actually been investing in neutral basics recently. All the ones I used to have got donated once having kids meant they didn’t fit anymore. That, along with decluttering the chaff in my closet has really been bringing my style together more cohesively. The pieces I love have more opportunities to shine now that I’m elevating my basic pieces. Good tips in this video :)
Hooray for a neutral palette!! I love to add a pop of color on my lips and accessories. I started investing in classic pieces a few years back and I'm glad I did. Just one piece at a time and it will save money in the long run. Thank you again for your video Kim. xo xo
Great video Kim! You are so right about doing one’s hair before leaving the house! I’ll think mine looks good while I’m getting ready at home, but than catch my reflection when I’m out and realize it looks scraggy🙈.
Great tips, Kim, thank you. I so wish I were better at doing my hair. It takes me at least an hour and a half to curl it with an iron, and it never looks that great. During this pandemic, I have never once done it. My hair is weird, wavy underneath but straight and straw-like in the top layers (past highlighting damage, but I recently stopped doing them). Do you, or anyone in our friendly community, have any recommendations for a hot wave-styling brush? I think it might be faster and easier.
Great tips. That confidence tip is very inspiring. I will start doing that. Everything is good until I walk out the door. And then ..... something is not right! I will remember that tip.
This is a really good video not just for style but for confidence, loving self and feeling good. Thank you and Way to go!!!!! I love your inclusive positive attitude!!!
I always had good sneakers throughout school but started to stray once college and real life hit. This summer I finally bought some Saucony and Nike sneakers after a few years of cheaper on clearance shoes and they've 100% been a life changer!! They weren't exactly cheap but my feet feel waayyy better. And there is ALWAYS a sale going on somewhere if you have the patience to search around. Now I'm on the hunt for comfy black boots/booties. The way I see it we spend most of our lives on our feet and in our beds so shoes and mattresses are worth saving up and investing in.
i have to say I am very much a wash and wear woman. after listening to this session/ tips i actually blew dry my hair not completely straight ( I have soft curls ) but tamed it a bit more. Damn you are right i looked a lot more pulled together. As a 55yo woman who has launched her own sales/consulting biz i need to look like an owner not someone schlepping sample cases. fyi I am schlepping the sample cases :-) tks for the tips i look forward to your weekly youtubes.
I don’t have a celebrity I wanna look like! Recently retired and I love fashion but it’s hard to nail a look that’s relaxed and classy. Always do my hair and can u do a video for lifestyle change and how to start over! Thanks
Try Eileen Fisher she’s a favorite of mine. Her pieces are timeless, very relaxed and stylish. I can’t afford her line unless I buy on sale, and that’s still a bit pricey. Give it a go and see what you think..
Letting my hair air dry - guilty as charged. I’m always in a hurry, so I end up convincing myself that it pretty much looks the same no matter what I do and it’s healthier for my hair. Maybe that’s true, but my inner voice says, ugh my hair looks so lifeless and boring and I don’t feel my best. The real issue here...allow myself more time because ultimately I will feel better about myself for the rest of the day. 🥰
Hey girl hey, Paula from EDMONTON here. Two questions hoping you have time for, where did you get the black cowboy style bootees you were wearing in the H&M video? Also what would you recommend for a coat for business meetings in Vancouver next week? Looks like rain every day, and I don’t thinkA trenchcoat will be warm enough. Binge- watching all your past videos, thanks for all the work you do for us.
GrayTaylor Hey Paula!! Booties are from Chloe and I got them at Holt Renfrew Vancouver:) Hmmm you won’t really need a raincoat because you will probably be mostly inside. I will wear a leather jacket or my Sentaler coat. Xoxoxo
I just recently cut my hair and let my natural hair color grow out so I will embrace the head scarves on dry shampoo days... I am actually wearing the same outfit today (with camel) 😍
Pap Pyone it actually did look decent on the video but in person when I do that it’s really scruffy at the ends. It just takes two minutes to flat iron the tips! Xoxoxo
Love this video. Can someone with silver hair still do the neutral pallete of camel, black n white? Having trouble looking washed out as I am pale as well lol but love my silver sparkle
What shoes would you recommend for office that are also comfortable and don’t kill your feet? I find it so hard to find something appropriate to wear with skirt and dresses that is good for my feet and looks good
Hah! My hair looks sh.t, I’m having a hair crisis! Much of it has to do with the older lady wears shorter hair thing lately and I’ve always worn extremely short hair to maybe the jawline and suddenly I’m getting older and I don’t want to suddenly look my age! So I’m having hair paralysis! And my hair is getting longer but also more unkept. Think there is honestly just one thing to do. I need a new hair stylist!
Thanks so much for watching!! Remember to subscribe so you don’t miss the extra tips and trick I post! Xoxoxo
Kim XO Hi Kim, can you share a link to your fabulous camel coat please? Btw I think you’re great! Such great tips. I’ve learned so much from you.

Lynn Aiken that’s such a great idea, a lot less stress and you can walk out feeling good :) xoxoxo

Love it. Easy to
Implement
All those tips are right on point!!! Thanks for the energy you put in your videos Kim, love them!!!
Question for you Kim: Would you also consider gray & brown neutral colors along with the camel, black & white?
Great tips, Kim, thank you. I so wish I were better at doing my hair. It takes me at least an hour and a half to curl it with an iron, and it never looks that great. Thank you - absolutely love this content and you mentioned Mel Robbins my favourite you tuber 💕 from Liverpool UK
Sharon Mckeown I love Mel! Sending love back to you in the UK!! I’m hoping to get back over there for fashion week this year!
Such a lovely video as always! Hugs from Calgary
whats better, white canvas sneakers like converse, or white leather (or faux) sneakers?
I think white leather as it might be easier to keep clean than white fabric 🤔
What shoes would you recommend for office that are also comfortable and don’t kill your feet? I find it so hard to find something appropriate to wear with skirt and dresses that is good for my feet and looks good
Kitten heel pump (it's a low heel but slender) with an almond toe that is not a platform. Looks great for the office, but comfy too!
Do you know of a good source for larger size stylish footwear? I'm an 11 and have daughters who are 12's. Cute shoes and boots often stop at 10.
U didn’t link the 34 basics shoes video. I tried looking on your Chanel and it’s not organized very well to find it. I couldn’t even find it there. 😢
"Your hair is part of your outfit too." True! This is often forgotten
👍
2020, the year of pjs.
Ha!
Kim is right, no matter how good an outfit is, it won't look as polished if you don't style your hair.
Hah! My hair looks sh.t, I’m having a hair crisis! Lol!! Get a new one and motive yourself to pull it together 🥰😘
hi 😁
I'm super guilty of letting my hair air dry!! I will totally try and break that habit. Great video Kim 😘
Holly Roemer you can still let it air dry! You just need to quickly run a straightener through the bottom to finish it! Xoxoxo
I actually prefer air dry hair. Flat ironing kills it, curls look funny, blow drying it makes it big and frizzy and putting it up is not an option! 😅
I don’t look good in white ...😢
Off white? Grey? What colour do you look good in?
Pink and green !
Hi, thank you for your tips, but.................I noticed you wearing black under your white blouse. Oopppps!
