Home Inn is just a regular budget hotel chain in China. Naturally, like any hotel, it offers both inexpensive budget rooms and more expensive premium rooms. The premium rooms come with better amenities and more spacious environments. If you want to save money and choose a budget room, don't expect too much!

15:08 If you stick with hotels in this price and yes pretty sure they are in the same quality. Better choose chained hotel brands (Manxin, Atour, Quanji etc.) and avoid travel in China's public holiday coz all things are wayyyyyyyy more expensive everywhere in China.

Manxin is a standard chain hotel brands operated by Huazhu Group. So if you book other hotels brands owned by Huazhu(e.g. Ji, Orange Crystal, Mercure, Manxin, Xiyue) and are opened recent years, you might get similar experience. It runs many hotels in all the Chinese cities.

There are lots luxary hotels beside this one, one I can remember would be W-hotel, all their service would be better especially the buffet, but those could cost more than $150 per night. Anything below $40 would be conside enonomy hotels.

The first call you received was to remind you that a robot was delivering fruit to you, and to open the door to receive the fruit. You didn't understand, so the front desk staff asked the cleaning lady to come and remind you in person. Domestic tourists in China know this rule. You act like an amateur, but don't Dutch hotels have this service yet?

You're little bit picky and when you see the surroundings that are clean and tidy, you can imagine about the hotel. China doesn't do anything to look cosmetically good.
