However, as the appointment spurred controversy and allegations of nepotism, the mayor shifted gears and instead tapped his brother to become executive director of mayoral security, a City Hall official said Wednesday."

More dangerous than ever since this fool came in.
This wasn't an interview. It was a campaign video. How embarrassing.
I thought the exact same thing. Anderson addressed many of the elephants in the room, but he also threw him a lot of softball questions while verbally fellating him. I was surprised he was able to keep his shirt clean.
Mayor is a joke
Bring back bail now
He looks promising. I mean, the last mayor was awful.
Yet New Yorkers voted for the last mayor twice. Not smart people.
He's just as bad.

Cool. Glad you like him. After all why wouldn’t you, he’s not a Democrat he’s a con man, but to a conservative he says all the right things. Democrats need to wake up and he should never be elected as a Democrat ever again

LMAO, people are back on the train because they can't afford gas.
excellent story
This guy is a BUM. He's done nothing for the city. He talks about swag, but if you talk to old-time cops in the city, they all say he wasn't a real cop but instead had a cushy job within the department. He is yet another politician in the city who is afraid of tough love because he knows the tough love will overwhelmingly come down on the side of blacks and minorities. It's sad what has happened to the city. It will never come back. Sure Manhattan and parts of gentrified Brooklyn and Queens will always be Disneyland, but if you do not have tough policing and decent standards in the public schools, the heart and soul of the city will leave. The heart and soul of the city are middle-class working people in the outer boroughs. They are leaving in droves. The city ain't ever coming back because if you enforce tough policing, there will be riots and racism will be the call of the day. It's over.
Excellent Interview
What made it excellent??? All he did was talk about himself. It's funny how he said his mother told him to switch parties. People of color are conditioned to believe the demonrats are for us when they only think about themselves. Eric Adams is a puppet and because he is black, we believe he is for us. It's been 5 months now and he hasn't done itsh! New York has gotten worst!
Yeah all talk
I just threw up in my mouth watching this.
Worst mayor ever fot NYC
Can’t wait for 2025 to vote him out
Despite mayor Adams ineptitude, can he possibly be any worse than DeBlasio was ?
Homeless cruelty is nit the answer. I am sorry I do not have confidence in this guy!
He needs to act quickly and stop gun violence
That won’t happen in NY. It’s impossible
NYC has a black version of DeBlasio
Lol true
Only 24 % of New Yorkers turned out to vote 😂 Nothing will change, but the city won’t die. It will just become more and more haves and have nots.
This mayor knows nothing about Policing!!!!!!
The hypocrites release there own hypocrisy. Pray for these people in charge who don’t have the ability or the knowledge of telling the truth. Amen

Yes, please do stay in Florida. Yet millions of people visit NYC yearly and even move here.
Politicians are not regular people. They are in the Elite class. But we never see Elite work. They deserve to be criticized when the job isn't getting done. Their elite seat means they must get the job done period
I'd respect Eric Adams more if his response to every single failure of the NYPD, which already receives more funding than most other countries' militaries, wasn't that the police need more money. For what, more tanks?
Why work hard to protect the public if they get released without bail. Why sign up for 3 hours of paperwork for nothing. Without the fear of consequences society itself crumbles, due to bad decisions New York is a shadow of it's former self.
And yet you left out the DAs and judges that are letting these thugs walk the street after their arrest. Don't let that little fact get in your way.

i enjoyed how he appointed his brother, who has not been an officer in 26 years to a high ranking NYPD position and three days later withdrew due to cries of nepotism. Specifically, "Bernard Adams, who hasn’t served in law enforcement since retiring as a New York Police Department sergeant in 2006, was first supposed to get a deputy commissioner of governmental affairs job in the department, a powerful post that comes with a $240,000 salary and policy-making authority, as reported by the New York Daily News last week.
However, as the appointment spurred controversy and allegations of nepotism, the mayor shifted gears and instead tapped his brother to become executive director of mayoral security, a City Hall official said Wednesday."
Bloomberg appointed one of his daughters who had no experience whatsoever for her high-ranking position. There she stayed for 12 years too. He is not the first nor will he be the last to appoint friends and family members to cushy jobs.
Yes, because he needed the security to fight White supremacy. Adams words, not mine.
@@mrmrso228 - Perhaps you should stay on topic when answering a post.
@@mepulley7913 Perhaps you don't understand what Mayor Swagger said about appointing his brother and White supremacy so I'll quote it for you:
“Let me be clear on this: My brother is qualified for the position. Number one, he will be in charge of my security, which is extremely important to me at a time when we see an increase in white supremacy and hate crimes,” the Big Apple’s second black mayor said on “State of the Union” with Jake Tapper, when pressed about nepotism and ethics concerns over the appointment.
“I have to take my security in a very serious way.”

Mayor Adams have a lot to do. For starters he should deal with the senseless violence in nyc, have all building Super and Landlords make sure they waterhole the sidewalks with water in front of residential buildings, make people pay fines for not curbing their dogs, and clean up nyc from all the garbage, litter, and bloody crime.

Eric Adams is caught between a rock and a hard place he is a major US city arguing the major US city and everything is not perfect he has big problems and big problems take time to fix. Unemployment, education, housing all take time to fix. You can’t just wave a magic wand and say kada housing for the homeless. Sad to say most of those things he won’t even be able to fix it really takes a federal effort to address these issues as a mayor what he can do is shine a spotlight on things he can set an example for those who aspire to work in government or take political positions he can also inspire citizens of the city he represents. Sad to say those other things he hopes to fix those are chronological issues they don’t just repair themselves overnight. Issues with police brutality corruption I mean come on look at what he had to say when someone pointed out you have a corrupt figure on your payroll the best you can say is we’ve all made mistakes I won’t tolerate it if he does it under my administration. That speaks volumes when some of the best people you can find to do the job have some corrupt history. Even if what they did was unintentional they should’ve known better you might even think you should be able to find better candidates but it’s so hard.
So sad to see what he’s become could of become such a great story
