ABSTRACT
There's something good you can say about every programming language. But that's no fun. Instead, let's take the worst features of all the languages we know, and put them together to create an abomination with the worst syntax, the worst semantics, the worst foot-guns and the worst runtime behaviour in recorded history.
Let's make a language so bad it would make people run screaming to Visual Basic for Applications.

Thank you so much! This is probably the funniest programming related bit of media I've ever seen! :D
Many thanks for this video!
This talk is a pearl of wonderful nonsense.
This talk is the Sam Raimi Spiderman of the Rendle Cinematic Universe ^^
Tough crowd
It is JavaScript?! 👀
This is fun 😂
horrible talk...
Horrible commenter...
@@Cheggers-pq1pn The talk is basically whining from the wanna-be perfectionist. Yes, obviously the programming languages are not ideal, yes, there are a few bad decisions made. the water is wet... AND? I guess you will create your own perfect language where LITERALLY EVERYTHING will be perfect and there won't be any bad decisions made at all, RIGHT?????? IMO a lot of stuff is in the culture/experience/education/good taste/best practices. Are C++ macros a manifestation of hell? YES, OBVIOUSLY. Why? Because many people did that and they regret doing so. AND what is the lesson? Don't use the feature! Have the coding standards, have a conversation with the team etc, make them read the books like "clean code"/"effective java"/your own choice, make your own life better, all is in your hands! Are nulls in Java bad? Yes, obviously! And what is the lesson? read the "effective java"/etc and never return null from your methods! Is it tedious/you need some discipline? Yes, obviously! Can you NOT use Java for your project? It depends - talk to your boss, migrate to Kotlin if you want it so bad, surely in Kotlin there are ABSOLUTELY NO bad design choices, RIGHT?
@@Cheggers-pq1pn TLDR - critique is ok, but actionable suggestions and reasonable actions for improvement are much much better. The talk looks like "everything sucks, it is because the programming languages that we are using suck!". Ok, AND? The difference between a critic and the whales like IBM/Oracle/SAP is that they built at least SOMETHING, and they have billions, and I truly wish you all the luck to create your own ideal programming language, make it top 1 in TIOBE with 50% lead, get the backing of Google and Apple and fully disrupt the market!
@@TaranovskiAlex Wow, you've completely missed the point - this is about having fun together and not a strict critique of all the languages.
