The CGI in Marvel movies absolutely requires the hundreds of people in the credits. The CGI in EEAAO definitely looks like it only had 7 (albeit incredibly talented) VFX artists working on it. There's a lot of good stuff but also quite a few moments that could've used more polish. Closest thing they have to 'the message' is that they have two lesbian relationships in the movie. The first being crated into the story and is 'one' of the things going on in the opening act that is making mother and daughter estranged from eachother. The other is played more for laughs, as it's in the surreal verse (Hotdogs for fingers). In both instances, it's not the focus, it's just going on. Which sadly a lot of modern writers don't seem to understand.

While I don't live in the States, the depiction of the frantic, work-driven attitude portrayed by our local superstar Michelle Yeoh absolutely nailed the Asian family experience.

The franchise literally starred a Black guy and a Chinese guy.
2 non-white people from cultures that couldn't be further apart from each other but who we as the audience loved to root for as a brotherly duo and see them kick-ass and save the day,
not because there was some social message about how some tokenized non-white characters are brave, bold and flawless and who can do no wrong that the movie was trying to preach to the viewers,
but because they simply focused on making a fun movie that everyone could enjoy even now.

What happened instead is, I watched this wild, super (or over?) imaginative, rollicking sci-fi epic across the multiverse.
I got one of the most enjoyable martial arts movies of the year.
I busted a gut through this over the top, hilarious, at times cringe inducing and other times slapstick comedy.
I experienced this heart rending drama about unrequited love, romance and a collapsing marriage.
I felt the intense hurt, misery, comfort and the love that a parent/child relationship can generate.

Oh, absolutely. Part of the reason I hate STD so much is it initially appeared to have great promise, albeit of a 'different' type of Star Trek to the 80s-00s; but that version was clapped out by 2005 anyway and in need of an overhaul. So despite the fact that the Klingons suddenly looked like Mordor Orcs and floated around in big tubs of brass I was prepared to take a leap. Sadly it was off a cliff as the show quickly devolved into garbage and wasted those of the cast who have acting talent.

I am glad he did not give up because this movie is a phenomenal gem and probably the best film ive seen in the last 5 years, and maybe the best in terms of having replay value. They did right casting Michelle Yeoh; she’s been around a long time, and has range. Older characters can be more interesting and often are when they’re written correctly, because they’ve lived longer and have experienced more. Plus, there are cultural influences outside of the typical Western ideology at play in this movie. That makes a big difference. It’s the same reason why people are leaning towards anime and Korean films. No social or political agenda; just an interesting story with relatable characters and a chance to escape from reality for a few hours.
