Nice video, a little light in the weight guess, if you have access to a scale it would be interesting to see. A Superformance is most likely 2400-2500 pounds mine is a Hurricane cobra is 2510 with a full tank of gas.

Thanks to a settlement between Hillbank and Shelby in (I believe) 2010 (or a few years earlier), Superformance replicas are 'blessed' as authorized Shelby cars. So, kinda, sorta, Superformance Cobras are 'real' Shelbys.

I didn’t realize that.. I’ve worked on a factory 5, and A unique motor cars kit.. they are only as good as the builders skill.. so in both cases they were a far cry from the superformance overall quality.

The Superformance deal was a money only deal. They look a lot like a Cobra, they are not as accurate as a continuation car from Shelby American, kirkham, ERA or Hurricane etc. when you look at body shape, roll bar etc, but very nice cars for sure.

Ford bought the rights to Shellby American in 1967 and they bought the rights to use the Shellby name. Shellby had nothing to do with a Shellby Mustang by 1968.
