  • There is a whole lot going on with this poor jeep, but we are determined to make it great again. In this vid we tackle the rear section of the frame near the fuel tank.

    Had a 94 YJ with a bad frame back in the day. "repaired" it with some squared plates tacked on without much precision, drove it until it hit 170,000 and sold it in 2016 because the frame failed again. Saw it just last weekend to the guy I sold it to, over 200k on the clock now and the frame was cut up to make a sweet mudbogger. Was like seeing a child all grown up.

    I have been binging your Jeep videos like crazy. Awesome content man! I love the way you break everything down and make it easy to understand. I have a 93 YJ that is a rust bucket similar to the ones you’ve repaired. I am having it quoted by a shop here in Western NY soon, but I don’t know if they have ever used Auto Rust products before. If it isn’t looking good at this shop, then I may have to tow it over to yall!

    OMG They paid...$4800!! US! I paid $4900 CDN eight years ago for my ‘96 Cherokee. It was in excellent condition, no rust anywhere, even now, engine oil is still clear two three months after changing it. I’m putting collector plates on it next year. I was very lucky.

      Older Toyota trucks have similar issues due to Boxed frame design. Very rigid but at the cost of potential rust issues. Newer Toyota trucks like the tacoma have issues with frame coatings that is completely different.

    • @MorFabIndustries

      I usually wont touch unibody vehicles. They are very difficult to get right. What king of vehicle is it?

    • @andychapman6646
      @andychapman6646 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MorFabIndustries 98 eclipse gsx. Really it's just one rocker panel under the side skirt by the rear wheel. But the actual unibody frame rails dont have any rust but they r really weak. I tried to set it on a jack stand on frame rail and it pushed a dent into my driver floor. The rocker panel I can handle just not sure how to strengthen the rails

    • @MorFabIndustries
      @MorFabIndustries  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahhhh those DSM's are notorious for that. I've had a few myself back in the day. The only real course of action is to see if someone makes something similar to a subframe connector that you can weld in or get some 18/16gauge steel and make strengthening plates and weld those in.

    • @andychapman6646
      @andychapman6646 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MorFabIndustries I've been searching all over the internet for replacement peices like u used on the TJ but cant find any. And I dont have any place to put a parts car or I would just buy a roller. What sucks is I cant even get it on jack stands anywhere other then subframe. It's just so crazy that it's so weak even where there isnt any rust at all
