Everything matches and I can combine pieces that I’ve had for years, even decades. We could avoid a lot of waste if more people knew which colors work for them.
What about people who have : - warm hue, light value, muted chroma - warm hue, dark value, bright chroma - cool hue, light value, bright chroma - cool hue, dark value, muted chroma
adding on, if you have a neutral undertone (i have no obvious yellow or pink, and my veins are purple, blue, and green), if you can determine the other two, then you can still find your season. i'm neutral undertone, but because i have very little contrast in the coloring (pale, light eyes, and even with my natural brown hair it's not a stark contrast to those two, you can check by making your pictures black and white to check hue) and i am muted so all my features tend to sort of blend into each other, i know i'm a summer.
But soft autumns aren't muted too? I'm in a similar situation: temperature is clearly not my first feature, and my contrast is medium (dark, but not black, hair + fair, but not porcelain white, skin). I could call myself soft *iguess* but I'm struggling between autumn and summer

I have a friend that studied color theory in college, she’s helped me tremendously! I have a light, light warm undertone, green looking veins, dark hair and green eyes. I was told that I’m an autumn. I used all warm makeup exclusively and autumn clothing, but I kept searching for something but I didn’t know what. My friend told me try cool colors , makeup and clothing ( but always use my correct foundation for my skintone) which I did. Wow! What a difference! She said doing this will give me a more dramatic look. By using the opposite colors was the contrast I needed . Staying in the autumn pallet was a more natural look and doing the opposite was the dramatic look I had been looking for! Same for my clothing ! I wear silver jewelry too!
Exactly. Contrast is not a bad thing. I'm a dark autumn, but will wear pastels I "shouldn't" wear because they contrast my skin and hair. I can't do muted colors as they wash me out, but if it's a clear cool pastel my skin looks more golden tan and my hair looks even darker and richer.
@@PandoraBear357 All of them have some pastels as an option, though... I used to stay away from pastels but realized that if I find exactly the right one it works really nicely. I'm a winter.
Yes! I'm a true autumn with warm skin, medium to dark warm brown hair and green eyes. I look good in warmer colors but the drama of cooler toned makeup and silver jewelry looks great too. I'm all for wearing colors that are in your season and "flatter" you but I don't stick to that. I say wear what you like whether it's part of your palette or not

There is also neutral tones which means you’re closer to the edges of the diagram, versus being a “true” season. Like I am warm, dark, and bright, which means I’m in autumn, but a little closer to winter.

Advice for someone with warm/neutral undertones, dark & high contrast features, and a bright chroma? Very clearly bright (highly saturated), and dark (dark brown eyes), and barely warm undertones are enhanced by natural red hair and loads of very warm freckles. But there is no colour season for this! Can you be a mix of two? It's either a dark autumn or a bright spring or both?
This information changed my life 💜 I’m a bright spring, but my closest mostly comprised of trendy muted and dark colors with black, which did absolutely nothing for me. I was frustrated and underwhelmed with my wardrobe before, but now that I know my season and spectrum I feel so much more beautiful and confident in my clothes. Thank you!!! 🥳
Fantastic explanations and visuals. I've always struggled to self-identify because I have pale skin, freckles, black/brown eyes, auburn/red hair, and a combination of vein colors in my arms but easy pink flush in my cheeks. Most often, people have said I'm an Autumn because of the auburn hair, but I've also sometimes been told I'm Summer or even Spring. I paused the video around 4:45, reviewed your descriptions of warm hue, dark value, muted chroma, then felt really excited when you said that combination is Fall... Your color swatch at 6:30 also matches like 90% of my wardrobe, and now I understand why I keep gravitating to those pieces! Thank you very much for your help!!
I have green veins but sliver compliments my skin tone better than gold. I went with winter for myself, my hue was warm, my value was dark and my chroma was bright. Not knowing this I have always dressed as a winter. I’ve always gravitated to the rich colors. Great information. Thanks 😊

I have been trying to find a way to figure out how to type myself, and this video made it SO EASY. I've been looking at so many videos and this has been the best one! Thank you
This was really popular in the 80s, and my Mom and I went to “have our colors done.” When the lady asked what my favorite colors were…I listed off red, black, bright purple, royal blue…it was the 80s! She was like, “uh huh” and then I was appalled when I found out that I was a “Fall” and I was going to look best in orange and brown…However, I do definitely look better in warm toned clothing, and can still wear pinks, purples and reds…I just look for the warmer shades of them, and they are flattering. I can pull off yellow! And, I look like death in light blue, grey, and really light pastels…totally washed out, makes my skin look sick. So, I say, wear what colors you like, and I’ll wear black and navy blue, I love them! But, I know that some things are more flattering, but, I choose based on what I like generally.
Very informative!! I wasn't sure of my color palette, but it turns out that the colors I naturally gravitated towards were correct, but I definitely needed to step up my clothing choices.
I totally agree with you. knowing your season can save lots of money and frustration. I am a winter, and I always wear my winter palate and get tons of compliments. I have seen many people who spent tons of money, only to look terrible.
Hi, if you're a POC, you can be an autumn or spring. If bright suits you better = spring. If muted = autumn. Can you wear pumpkin orange, olive green & mustard yellow? If yes = autumn.
Dark, cool and bright here! I thought I was a winter but an expert at a Benetton shop seasoned me as a summer! According to her, when I wear strong, Winterisch colors, the first thing you notice is the color first and then my face. On the other hand , I just saved to buy a sage knitwear that fits lovely on me... Also the Grey shades seem a winning match with me!
I think this video is very well done! In fact, it's the best video I have seen on this topic. But I am still having problems figuring out my color season. And also, for each season there are colors I look great in and colors I don't. So, I just buy what I feel looks best on me lol
Hi, from your picture & description, you may be a light spring or soft autumn. Can you wear soft (light) versions of pumpkin orange, olive green & mustard yellow? If yes, you're a soft autumn. If no, then light spring.
Could anyone possibly help me? 😅 I’m still a little confused on how to pin point my skin tone/ features because I’m mixed and I feel like I could categorize myself in multiple seasons. Please excuse my ignorance 😭
not sure if I'm spring or fall - Ive always been confused by this. I tend to wear olives, browns and navy always looks good vs black. Pastels make me look dead, and a lot of the spring colors don't work for me, until you hit jewel tones. So what season is Marion Cottilard, cuz I was told for a long time, we look like sisters, except eye color.
This is the most helpful season color palette video on the Internet. I have tried to figure out what I am for the past like two years, but I could never figure it out. You broke it down so well. Finally, I can feel confident, knowing I’m a dark winter. Which is funny, because half of my closet is cool shades of blue, green and black.
I'm a jewel-tone kind of girl: no subtle pastels for me. I have those blue/purple veins and much prefer silver/white gold/platinum to yellow gold. Even as I've aged (gray hair and more sallow skin), I stick to blue-based reds and steer clear of anything beige.
You may either be bright winter (if leaning toward cool) or bright spring (if more warm). They're sister palettes - beside each other on the season wheel & can borrow colors from each other.
These variables aren't always absolute. For example, my sister has gold undertones but is an obvious winter, hands down, no exception. One way, aside from the silver vs gold jewelry test, is to examine yourself against some of the colors that are distinctly the season in question without overlapping with other seasons. My picks: Winter; electric blue, jet black, and pure white. Summer; cool berry colors, light lemon yellow, cadet blue (like the crayon)and lavender. Autumn; mustard yellow, warm rust, and forest green. Spring; peach, peachy tan, and berry colors that have a warm tint. More often than not, when you hold up "your color" against your face you'll know because they POP like other colors don't. To get a better idea of what you're looking for, look up the contrasting photos in "Color Me Beautiful" by Carole Jackson.
I’m Japanese and these personal color analysis is pretty popular here. Went to a professional and I figured I was a clear winter! I love muted colors though haha what is Kristen Stewart and Dakota Johnson’s personal color?
@ana - if you're a POC, it's possible to be a dark haired spring. Watch the draping vid of Xixiplease (spring) & ASMR Twix (summer) = both dark haired ladies, Jannat Ara for Dark Autumn, Hyeri Vlog for True Winter.
is there a palette for someone who's dark. cool, and muted? I'm Asian Chinese and I have really fair skin that seems white under the sun, but my features do not contrast starkly. They are more muted. My hair and eyebrow color is extremely dark. So I don't really know what to make of this
Hi, if you're Chinese, you may be a winter. Fan Bing Bing is a winter, I think. She looks great in jewel tones & fuschia. However, there are dark haired springs/ summers too. The vloggers: ASMR Twix is a summer, while Xixiplease is a spring - watch their draping vids. Hyeri Vlog is a winter. Best way to know is via draping. If you know that you're cool, you're either a winter or a summer. Do pastels look better on you (summer) or bright jewel tones (winter)?
The more videos I watch on this, the more confused I am. I am very fair with dark auburn hair and greenish grey eyes which makes me think autumn. But my veins are extremely blue and yellow gold looks awful on me. Maybe soft autumn? Dark teal (more blue than green) is the most flattering color on me I've found so far.
While this is a great guide I do believe there are always going to be some people who fall somewhere between cool and warm. I hope you will get some good feed back on your special color needs!
This sounds like me too. I can’t wear orange or yellow but I have (naturally) auburn/brown hair and green/blue eyes. I thought that everything less the hair (blue veins and undertone) made me a light summer and not autumn or spring despite the hair. Autumn colours make me look unwell.
Same! The more I try at this, the more confused I get. My skin is yellow and pink, my veins blue, but sometimes they appear green. My best guess is neutral undertone to cool, with warm skin shade. Is this even a thing? I dunno lol!
@@mermaidcoveclothesandnails I think you have described olive skin, I had this frustration recently, I searched youtube for "cool undertone warm skin" and olive popped up, check Audrey Coyne Olive skin vid
My undertone is neutral as I can see both green and purple veins on my skin. I’m olive-skinned with dark hair, eyes and eyebrows. I’m not sure that I am a winter or Autumn??
This is the best video about color analysis, so clear and applicable! Of course that this item has more details if someone wants to analyses deeper and tends to study it as its occupation... Thank you, I enjoyed this video , and I m going to come back to it many times I guess 🤗
I find that my favourite colours to wear don't seem to appear on any of the palettes! My eyes are blue but my natural hair is a mid brown (tho coloured copper). I look better in gold jewellery but my skin is more cool/neutral. I find colour theory quite alienating, and can't find which season would in theory suit me! What I do know is that beige, light grey, tan, millennial pink colours next to my face do me no favours - anything washed out is not my friend. Hot aqua, schiaparelli pink, soft neon orange/yellows look great. I'm always v happy in a warm tomatoey red. I gravitate toward warm/saturated shades, but also muted greens, deep lilacs, cobalt blue seem to work well too. Eh, I don't know. I find "this is your type" categorising very tricky to find my place in (see also: kibbe body types!)
What about women who have gone naturally silver and slate hair (grey) and have warmth in skin tone dark eyes…..so frustrating trying to figure this out.
Hi, if you're of Chinese ancestry (based on your name), you can be a winter. Fan Bing Bing is a winter. However, you may also be a spring. Watch the draping vid of Xixiplease (Korean) - she turned out to be spring = warm, dark, bright. If you're cool, watch the vid of Hyeri Vlog (a winter).
All my life I tried to figure out what my color was but I still don't know. I am Mediterranean and tan easily, I do see a yellow/olive tone but my skin has gotten lighter since I have been avoiding the sun 😎. I can't figure out what are the best colors for me. I think that gold jewelry looks better on my skin.
I’m warm and light but I can’t tell if I’m muted. There is a contrast in my skin between my face and my lips. My eyes are lighter, but I still feel like they stand out a bit
Hi. My suggestion to know your contrast: take a selfie, no makeup on. If your hair is dyed, use a pic of your natural hair. Switch the filter to B/W or grey. You have high contrast if there's huge diff in your hair & skin (like Ann Hathaway) or small diff (like Gigi Hadid when she's golden/ dark blonde). If you're low contrast plus your other features, you may be a soft autumn. Otherwise, true autumn. Check if pumpkin orange, mustard yellow & olive green look good on you. If yes = autumn. If no = probably spring.
Hi there! I’m warm, dark, and bright but I didn’t see how that would fit into the color wheel. 🙈 I may be getting a little mixed up with my olive skin, too… Any thoughts? 😊
Trust your instincts. Everybody doesn't fit in like that. There are autumn's with cold blue eyes and winters with platinum blond hair. If you're dark, warm and bright, it means that you're a spring on the border of a winter. You probably look great in bright coral tones, both on the orange and on the pink side, turquoise, canary yellow and peach. Neons would work well on you. You would be able to pull off a Klein blue as well.
When I had my colours done professionally years ago the lady mentioned that some people are a bit of two different seasons. They might be able to wear some from winter but also some from spring, in my case I am best in the autumn colours but there are also a few from both spring (greens and yellows) and winter (blues) that look good on me, just not as good as the pure autumnal colours do. I don't wear much from winter but I do wear the greens and yellows from spring in summer although I try to wear them away from my face.
@@AveCaesar2025 I agree. From the professional in-person draping vids that I've seen, the analyst gives you your main season (example true autumn), which are your best colors and a secondary season (example light spring) which you can borrow colors from.
Great content! Could you please make some videos about specific outfits for light spring and light summer types? Something about capsule wardrobe - clothes and accessories.
Your dominant and secondary tonal directions (Deep, Light, Soft, Bright, Warm, Cool) can shift as your hair colour changes, as the natural level of contrast and brightness within your hair, skin and eyes alters. However, this is unlikely to be a dramatic shift, and one or two of your three tonal directions are likely to remain the same; similarly to seasonal analysis, you will shift within a range, and are unlikely to have a complete change of palette! But thanks for pointing this out. I’ll make sure to include a segment in future videos!
I need a bit of help with mine I think. I’m neutral toned, can wear both gold and silver and always have to have a neutral foundation. I have bright green eyes and hair that’s a reddish medium brown. Every test I do throws me out as either a spring or autumn but never consistent results. Any help would be appreciated 🙈
Hi. It depends on your contrast. If you have high contrast = spring; low contrast = autumn. Take a selfie (no makeup), switch to B/W or grey filter. You'll know if your contrast is high or low. Another analyst said that you'll know you're an a if you can wear pumpkin orange & olive green (and mustard yellow). If you can't wear those colors = spring.
Im always so confused if i lean more towards cool or warm toned. i have purple, green, and blue veins and i have a mix of yellow and pink undertones. unsure if im a dark winter or dark autumn
@@concepthree i definitely do tan a bit in the summer but in the winter im more neutral. my hair is dark brown almost black (but turns more noticibly brown in summer) and my eyes are the same color. always been told i look good in dark reds, navys, and greens which are dark winter colors. But its strange bc I also have some warm tones as well but I guess it depends on what time of year it is. which is why im unsure is im a cool neutral or warm neutral.

Thank you so much 😀
I have been trying to find a way to figure out how to type myself, and this video made it SO EASY.
Your way of explaining made it easier to understand!! Thank you!
I totally agree with you. knowing your season can save lots of money and frustration. I am a winter, and I always wear my winter palate and get tons of compliments. I have seen many people who spent tons of money, only to look terrible.
I have a warm hue, dark value, and bright chroma, so dose that mean I should look good in spring, fall, and winter?
Hi, if you're a POC, you can be an autumn or spring. If bright suits you better = spring. If muted = autumn. Can you wear pumpkin orange, olive green & mustard yellow? If yes = autumn.
Hii
I'm having bright - chroma
Dark value and warm hue so i am little bit confused that in which season i came
Thank you. You have helped me understand this , better than anyone else have been able to.
You’re so welcome!
What is the season for warm, dark and birght? I just got confused
Nice!
I think this video is very well done! In fact, it's the best video I have seen on this topic. But I am still having problems figuring out my color season. And also, for each season there are colors I look great in and colors I don't. So, I just buy what I feel looks best on me lol
Such an insightful video. I love your videos because you show example through out the video
I’m glad it was insightful! 😊
what if I am muted, light but warm?
Hi, from your picture & description, you may be a light spring or soft autumn. Can you wear soft (light) versions of pumpkin orange, olive green & mustard yellow? If yes, you're a soft autumn. If no, then light spring.
What season is Warm hue dark value bright chroma ?
Could anyone possibly help me? 😅 I’m still a little confused on how to pin point my skin tone/ features because I’m mixed and I feel like I could categorize myself in multiple seasons. Please excuse my ignorance 😭
not sure if I'm spring or fall - Ive always been confused by this. I tend to wear olives, browns and navy always looks good vs black. Pastels make me look dead, and a lot of the spring colors don't work for me, until you hit jewel tones. So what season is Marion Cottilard, cuz I was told for a long time, we look like sisters, except eye color.
I’m warm, dark and bright, I didn’t see that as a combo, am I missing something 😞
This was more helpful then all of the websites I looked at tysm
This is the most helpful season color palette video on the Internet. I have tried to figure out what I am for the past like two years, but I could never figure it out. You broke it down so well. Finally, I can feel confident, knowing I’m a dark winter. Which is funny, because half of my closet is cool shades of blue, green and black.
Excellent visuals. Well done thanks for sharing.
I'm a warm Spring!!!
I see no one asking this but what do you do if you’re skin tone is neutral?
I'm a jewel-tone kind of girl: no subtle pastels for me. I have those blue/purple veins and much prefer silver/white gold/platinum to yellow gold. Even as I've aged (gray hair and more sallow skin), I stick to blue-based reds and steer clear of anything beige.
Hello, I think I'm warm, light, and muted, what is that? I didn't find it in your wheel
Hi, from your picture & description, you may be a soft autumn.
I have a neutral-warm hue, dark value and bright chroma. I AM Confused. U give rlly a great tips but i still cant figure out.
The best breakdown and explanation
Thank you 😊
I'm confused between clear spring and deep autumn but great content, very helpful 👍
I’m Japanese and these personal color analysis is pretty popular here. Went to a professional and I figured I was a clear winter! I love muted colors though haha what is Kristen Stewart and Dakota Johnson’s personal color?
They are Cool Summer :)
I have a warm hue, dark value and bright chroma is that even possible ? Where do i belong ? Winter or spring season ?
What about women who have gone naturally silver and slate hair (grey) and have warmth in skin tone dark eyes…..so frustrating trying to figure this out.
tysm!! i get confused w/ all the other videos this one rlly helepd
what if I'm cool-toned, light value, and bright chroma?
What if you have a warm hue dark value and bright?
Bright Spring possibly
Then you’re a bright spring! The three options In the spring region can vary from bright to light depending on whether the value is dark or light 🙂
Thanls for saving me from asking. I got the same concern. Now it is clear to me, i am a bright spring as well 😊
I don’t fit into any categories, maybe autumn? What if I’m warm, dark and bright?
Hi, if you're of Chinese ancestry (based on your name), you can be a winter. Fan Bing Bing is a winter. However, you may also be a spring. Watch the draping vid of Xixiplease (Korean) - she turned out to be spring = warm, dark, bright. If you're cool, watch the vid of Hyeri Vlog (a winter).
So helpful!! Thank you!
super helpful, finally a video I can understand on this subject! hahaha
Ok. I have veins of both colours and most of them are more of a teal colour. I'm so confused! 😂
That probably means you’re more neutral, which is in between warm and cool
for the warm tone skin picture, im a match to row 4, #2.
Thank you for making that so simple!!!!
You're welcome!
I have cool tone with pale skin dark hair brown eyes that they are little bit lighter and I have freckles and my features I think it muted I dont know
What if you don’t fit into just one season? I don’t find all colors in one season work for me 😢
You can fall into one of the 4 main seasons and have your best colors - not all colors in the palette may look good on you.
You did a great presentation
All my life I tried to figure out what my color was but I still don't know. I am Mediterranean and tan easily, I do see a yellow/olive tone but my skin has gotten lighter since I have been avoiding the sun 😎. I can't figure out what are the best colors for me. I think that gold jewelry looks better on my skin.
The channel of Merriam Style has good vids on olive skin. You may be olive warm or cool. If gold looks better, you're probably olive warm.
Your Video was the first one, which helped me a LOT. Thank you so much!
I got Warm Light Muted. What season am I?
Probably a soft spring.
Can you tell me the colour of the lipstick you’re wearing ? Looks beautiful on you ❤️
how ariana and anne are summer while they value are dark ?
What if you are warm, dark, bright?
Hi. You're probably a bright spring.
What about warm +dark +bright
If you're a POC, you can be a dark haired spring. You may also be an autumn - needs draping to confirm (bright/ spring vs muted/ autumn).
Very well explained. Thanks 🙏.
Welcome!
@@AveCaesar2025 That's more or less like me then.
Noted!
I am so late to this party, but I’m totally interested in learning.
How does graying/silver hair fit in....if you’re an autumn for example.
I wish I could like this video at least twice !!
🥰
What about those who have a neutral undertones
I'm 54 an really enjoyed learning about the seasons and my colors but I'm not sure I got it right bright earth tones warm equals ?
Sounds like true autumn. Needs draping to confirm. Can you wear pumpkin orange, olive green & mustard yellow?
Thanks for the info. What if I am "Warm, Dark and Bright"?
Im always so confused if i lean more towards cool or warm toned. i have purple, green, and blue veins and i have a mix of yellow and pink undertones. unsure if im a dark winter or dark autumn
Do you tan easily in the sun?
@@concepthree i definitely do tan a bit in the summer but in the winter im more neutral.
my hair is dark brown almost black (but turns more noticibly brown in summer) and my eyes are the same color. always been told i look good in dark reds, navys, and greens which are dark winter colors. But its strange bc I also have some warm tones as well but I guess it depends on what time of year it is. which is why im unsure is im a cool neutral or warm neutral.
What happended with the olive and neutral understones?
What if you have a warm hue, a light colour and muted chroma then?
Thank you so much!!❤
You made this easy to understand thank you
what about cool hue light value and bright chroma?
What season would I be if I have a warm hue, light value and muted chroma? Does that fall into a soft fall? What color palatte should I use as a guide?
Hi! It’s hard to tell from your description, but I think you can definitely be categorized!
If you need further help and would like to learn more about my consultation for a seasonal color analysis please email me at concepthree@outlook.com :)
What if your undertone is neutral
Yall wt abt warm hue, dark value & brighy chroma??
Autumn and Spring can wear the same colors? Who can wear the color sage? And if warm tone wears from the cool palette, can warm color makeup or accessories help?
Hi Bella interesting concept. I am a African American woman who has been told I am consider neutral because my vain are a bluish/green and I look good in both sliver and gold. How would
I find me seasonal color analysis?
Same but I don’t know either. I would say take it as your own personal opinion.. like do you like gold or silver more? And then just go from there. I look good in both gold and silver but i love gold way more
That means that you could wear any colour really from both sides of the spectrum, i.e. cool and warm. Lucky YOU! :)
What is a warm, dark and bright person
If you're a POC, you can be a dark haired spring or an autumn. Needs draping to confirm: bright (spring) vs muted (autumn) colors.
