I have a 2006 RX400h. I easily programmed it by the following: 1. This is only will work if you have a programmed key already and want an extra key. 2.Cut your key to the original one. I did it at ACE and cost me $4. 3. Turn on your car with the original key for 30 seconds, turn it off, and then immediately insert the new key and turn it on. Let it in there for a minute and that is it!! Note: I also did the same method for my wife’s car, Chevy Malibu 2013, and it worked :)

Could you please post the procedures for programming a used key fob for 2009 es350. I am currently have 1 original key and 1 key from other lexus to be add on to the s350. Thank you.
If you want to reprogram the Smart Key that is belong to the different vehicle " is already programmed" you HAVE TO reset all current key and re-program them again include of the master key that you have, My understanding is the Lexus have a copy of your key code in the file that it can be recover with your car VIN number, if you reset the master key then the code will change and their code become useless. Then even Lexus can not make a key for you if you lose all your key and they have to change the whole immobilizer module.
So we if we run out of key spots, or all spots taken, in the car, then it is not recommended to erase and reprogram all keys which will change your key code? No other good option I assume.

Yes, every-time that you program the FOB it must be virgin to be able to accept programming. so you have to send your fob out to get virginized. look for it in eBay that they doing so.
When you try to use already programmed smart key on your vehicle you need to use erasure option and you need to have valid " security subscription to TIS in order to get the seed number to obtain the passcode to complete erasure procedure. As I said doing so will cause change on your master key code and if your are in remote location and lose your key calling to LEXUS will not help you since they store the original code in their system not the new one that you will obtain after erasure and re-registration of all your keys.

Good video. Thx I haven't done smart key yet. Do I always need to see VIN # after entering car info? My last programming had failed connection issue during key registration and I don't remember see VIN# came up - which can indicate bad connection. Good point to keep new key fobs away at least 4-5 feet which sometimes I forgot and can cause issues during key programming. Does engine have to be on running when connecting to vehicle, or just turn the key to ON position only? After putting a master key and turning a master key on, does 'connect to vehicle' successfully indicate 100% working connection to ECU and other computers? Great Video , I have a 2017 nx 200t ,Do you think you can reactivate the FOB remote wireless key start with this software. The FOB becomes deactivated after the one year Lexus Enform trial ends. I never liked there app "Very Expensive" and slow but liked to use my FOB to remote start from inside my house in winter.
DO NOT try to reset your immobilizer to use a used key. Let a locksmith do it. Adding a key is fine using this method and you must buy a virgin key off ebay but resetting an immobilizer is a no-no. I just did that and after getting the passcode and waiting 16 minutes as it takes to reset the immobilizer it said reset failed and had to tow it to the dealer spend $500 at the dealer. No locksmith could program it after what I did with this software to reset it. Something that a locksmith could have done for me for $100.

Hi Mark, I HAVE A 2007 es350. I have one original key and I bought a used one on ebay to program. I read some reviews saying not to erase the keys as the tech stream might give a error of failure to erase. After that you have to be towed to the dealer. Your thoughts.
If you bought a used key fob "already programmed once" you have to erase the key to virgin mode to doing so you can use some of Ebay service they charge you $20 to make your used key virgin again, then--> since you have your original key you can follow my video procedure and program the virgin key, no need to reset the immobilizer and running through headache of hauling the car to dealer.( you do resetting immobilizer when you do not have any key) you had two options: Buying brand new key never program or do as you did buy used one, now you have to erase the program off of it that fob that can not be done with equipment that I did show in video.

Because if the FOB is already programmed (not virgin) you can not reprogram it to your desire transmit frequency code ( different car). FOB can be program once for reprogramming you need to clear the chip 1st(virgin it)

I do not know about you but I can not reset the used FOB myself I use EBay services for already programmed FOB to doing so it need specials tools, if the FOB is not new or not reset to virgin mode you can not re-program it.

So let me get this straight..... I can send the used key fob to someone on eBay. They will erase it, then send it back to me. I can then reset it to work with the one that I am using now? Again since you already have one key you do not need to reset the immobilizer (not your fob) the fob that you bought is used one it need to be reset to virgin and the software that you have as I shown in youtube can not program FOB to virgin that is the reason that you have to find someone in Ebay that have a correct equipment and able to reset your FOB to virgin or Brand new, People that they lost both key they need to reset their mobilizer and program all the key that they want it is lengthily procedure and if you mess it up your car will end up in dealership. So buy a brandnew fob or send your fob out be virginize, if you do not have any key then you can use your software to reset the seed on mobilizer that is longer and I am not recommending it to you, and yes when they erasing the FOB is just like new one. I done it many times. is nothing to do where it is erase( location) I just think you do not have FOB eraser program, that is not part of the OBD2 software that you have.

Someone with the right equipment that can read and write using RF to the key (from my research those devices are close to $2000) can basically remove the pairing information from the key. That puts the key back to "virgin" status as it would no longer work with the original car that it was first paired to.

That works on the one with the key inserting to turn on, newwer models don't have that.

Yes, the same principle apply to the credit card smart key as well, since they have the same chip in different packages.

Mercedes is like that too. They prefer you add a key not erase all memory. Then their master file is useless for any future owner with emergency.

Nice insight. But why do used keys need to be same ffc and board #, and be virgin, if it only transmit a signal and ECU picks up signal to use?

Ebay make sure is brand-new or restore to virgin, also make sure to buy the same Fob number as you currently have.
