Love your fish room!! Such an amazing tour!! Though the background music seemed to drown you out from time to time. Thank you for all that you do for the hobby!
Great footage of an awesome fish room! Thanks for sharing your journey into the hobby with us Jason and Joanna! Loving all the shelldwellers, and the val/crypts/anubias/hornwort in your cichlid tanks!
Firstly, this is an astounding fish room with probably the most impressive specimens on TH-cam! Secondly, where do you get some of your more unique fish? Are most of them shipped to you, or do you happen to live by an amazing supplier?
We are lucky because we have three really good fish clubs by us - GCCA, Greenwater Aquarist Society and the Chicago Live Bearer Society - almost all my fish comes from them.
Seriously enough about your tanks already!!!!! Let’s talk about what beard products you use, because that’s something I envy!!!!! Ok real talk. Have a good day and love the videos!!!
I currently live in a 1 bedroom apt. Only have 3 aquariums. I’ve had up to 20 tanks at a time in the past when I was breeding Aulonocara. You sure are giving me an itch for more!! Lol
Wow. Great variety. I'm not a fan of live bearers but love how you do such a great job mixing and matching fish and plants. I see you're a big fan of the sponge filter. Is this because you have so many tanks or because you believe in them that much? Thanks again for taking time to share! 👏👏👏 🐠
When I put guppies in with my cherry shrimp I have populations of both explode it’s really cool to see the life. I would recommend mut guppies instead of fancy I had no luck with them. Thanks for the awesome video.
Awesome fish room! Was wondering what brand fake plants you got in your tanks? I have a hard time finding stuff that doesn't look super fake. The Plants in the tank at 5:29 look very nice!
Hi Jason and Joanna. Red, yellow, orange and white fish of all sorts are usually my favorite. What is the name of the orangeish/ yellowish fish in the 150?
Great fish room and great advice! Just getting an Eheim Jaeger heater and finding it very difficult to get a heater guard that fits it because of the increased diameter. Do you find fish are smart enough to avoid getting burnt in your tanks. This would include in particular plecos.? Thank you v much for any advice.
@PRIMETIME AQUATICS. Good morning. I have a 55 gallon planted aquarium. With Amazon swords, Pogo Octopus, Java Ferns, Crypts, Dwarf chain swords, two lillies that are actively flowering, And some Anubias nana petite. I’m running a Fluval Fresh Plant at Bentley Pascoe settings and two Hyger lights as well. I have them running for approximately 12 hours with no algae on plants. Only glass algae for algae eaters. My question is if I wanted to switch to Kessil lights how many lights would I need and what model wattage of Kessil should I buy? And how high off the tank should I suspend them? Thank u for all u do. Love your channel
Thanks for watching! I did a video on freshwater Kessil lights that may be helpful. You would need two of them and I would suspend them about 4-5” above the top of the tank.
Nice collection. I am not a rookie, but you seem like an expert on Africans. if you want 6-7 inches africans in my 175 gallon. AND you want the females to look as good or almost as good as the males. what would you pick? And I am talking Malawi right now. Amazing colors. Thanks in advance. Best Regards

If I don’t. and they eat from the surface, they end up gulping air and then seem to struggle breathing until they can expel the bubbles. Have you found similar and any other tips?
Hi Jason Need your advice I have. 5 Geophagus surinamensis and brasilineis in my tank and I am planning to purchase sterbai Cory doras and green Corydoras. With your experience can they stay together in the tank.Pls share your advice on this
Excellent video quality and very interesting fishroom. I like that you mix species from different areas of the world. Question? Do you vacuum your sand and gravel? If so, how often? Thank you
Thanks for all you do your my favorite TH-camr. One question. With a sponge filter all you need is the filter all the attachments and just a air pump. Thanks
I like the tank w/ the rusty cichlids. I'm not typically nuts about the usual blue and yellow overstocked african cichlid look. The White Knight Ahli and Rusties go a long way to making it more interesting.
Great job Jason. I have quick question. Are the wire racks you use free standing or are they anchored into the wall? Also are you using mats under the tanks? I’m setting up a couple of 20Ls.
Good questions - They are free standing. I cut out plywood for the bottoms of each of the shelves and all the rimless tanks have mats under them as well.
Great Video! How do you remember what fish you have in each tank? Do you just write it down? I feel like it would be very difficult to remember what each and every fish looks like and is called!
Hello, I have a question on the dark gravel used for common small freshwater/tropical fish (like bettas, platys, tetras, corydoras). I see many reviews saying that fish died due to the toxic dark color painted on the gravel - paint comes off. Could you please provide some links to the DARK colored gravel (not sand) that you get for your tanks? I really want to know which dark/black/blue colored (not white/brown) gravel is good? I saw so many online but reviews say bad things like fish dying , and the water is dark even after rinsing, and the gravel stones lose their color / turn white after a while / paint comes off / chips off from the stones... Loved your fish room. My 5 year old and I embarked on the aquarium hobby in July and we got some guppies. Little did we know that they were pregnant. 2 days later we had fish having babies and needed more tanks. Anyway we have enjoy our 3 fluval tanks, they are only 55gallon, but enough for us. We have two girl tanks and one boy tank. But we need help. Our boy tank has worms. I think these have come in from Cherry shrimp we have bought. I like you blogs and when oh have excess finds we may join your membership as funds are tight now with brexit in the UK and a lockdown, but in the future we love to join until then will you advise us. I don't want to poison all my daughter beautiful boy guppies. We even have a blue and orange one. The worms are small I hope to hear from you
Sorry haven't finished, the worms are small and float in the water around the filter and on their glass of the aquarium at the front by the substrate. I clean this tank every day. Intake out old food and put in new. I have left a little brown algae at the bottom on the substrate, should I remove this now? Please help
Good question - they most likely are either detritus worms or planaria. Usually, with good tank maintenance (as it sounds like you are doing) they don't overpopulate and often "go away". The guppies may decide to eat them too. If they are planaria they can be detrimental to shrimp. Without adding de-working meds the best way to get rid of them is good tank maintenance. I haven't found them to be dangerous to fish. Good luck with the baby guppies!
@@PrimeTimeAquatics would you recommend medicating the tank to get rid of them? Also do you think I got them from baby bribe shrimp or from a shrimp? I'd like to prevent it for the future and appreciate your advice

I wonder if you could feed your bigger fish red worms that are sold in bait shops? Might be a good protein food once in a while.
I hesitate to do that only because I don't want to introduce disease.
Do you do a cool down period for your Balzanii?
Interestly, that tank is right in front of our basement window and a couple times a year it cools down a little bit.
