I still use the image wooden with brass top bread punches along with the image insert waggler on whip Still love it like 30 years ago Never did beat you Polly but came close a couple of times ;-)
Always been a big Polly fan from back in his Browning,Image & Future days.. I learnt so much from his canal videos made with the Original Video Company.. Still have them & watch them to this day.. in my mind,the best canal angler along with Kim Milsom.. Thanks Mark 😉🎣
I remember the days when the lads used to emulsion their bread mix. Always came back with a no bread win and covered in white paint. Total giggle.

Dead depth, fishing on the slope. If he wants to fish off the bottom, he just pulls his pole back 6inches! 👍

We used to fish the bread punch on the whip...6-8m to hand, using a small waggler setup up, catching through the water.
Are you fishing on the deck because the weather is so cold, of would you ever fish a strung out style?
