They want him to be with Sid which is ridiculous because they have zero chemistry it would be like a brother and sister kissing. That’s their relationship. They think she’s just a nonsense character. She’s not. She’s the only thing that is good in his life, the only thing that brings him joy and peace. She also has a crazy job (I know because I have the same job) yet she is still compassionate and fun. She levels him. She knows all about his crazy family and doesn’t care, most girls would run! She loves him for him. He deserves her and it doesn’t take away from the show, it enhances it. It brings depth to his character. She was literally my favorite character of season two.
@@akimboinc He drew them when he was in high school, he always loved her. It was in the fishes episode it was shown In flashbacks and brought up. She brought it up too by saying you were always drawing something.
Personally, I still want Carmy with Syd, not Claire. But I look forward to next season because I feel like we'll finally get some more background on her and why the two of them were so into each other in high school. I'd like for the character to be fleshed out a bit more--before they break them up for good.
Carmy with Sydney? Where is the connection, dude? Their relationship just seems work related throughout the 3 seasons. Where as Claire and Carmy have liked each other since they were what teenagers, I mean, the show makes this point pretty clear.
@@samfalcon4794 Easy. 1. When Carmy has panic attacks, images of Clare are all mixed up with the chaos that is his family and the loss of his brother. The only thing that calms him down is thinking about Syd. Though Clare is from his past, that is a strike against her in a lot of ways. Whereas Syd represents a fresh start and a future. She is the only one on the show who didn't know Michael at all. She's the only one who's there because of who Carmy is, not because of who Michael was. 2. Syd challenges Carmy in a way that Claire doesn't. Like in the scene where he and Claire are talking and she tells him to never, ever apologize. But Syd makes it clear to him when his behavior is unacceptable and he should apologize. He needs someone like her in his life. 3. Syd understands his goals and ambitions in a way that Claire doesn't. Carmy thinks he has to choose between happiness and excellence because one will distract him from achieving the other. But that wouldn't happen with Syd because she has the same obsession he does. 4. The fact that Carmy's dish was the best meal Syd ever had. 5. The table scene where he tells her that he wouldn't even want to do this without her feels more intimate than even the sex scene between him and Claire. 6. When Sugar tells Syd that Carmy's with Claire, there's a flash of jealousy there (imo). And when Carmy stands Syd up for the tasting tour, she looks disappointed like she'd been stood up for a date. 7. I think if they weren't building to something between Syd and Carmy, they might've let something develop between Syd and Marcus. But we see how she turned him down because she only sees him as a friend. Even when they're alone in her apartment, what do they talk about? Carmy.
I noticed all these little details too. That scene where they were lying under the table killed me. I love Claire as a character and I wouldn‘t mind them being endgame as long as their relationship is shown to be healthy more. But it’s kind of set up as star crossed lovers that burn up quickly. All we know about them is that they have history and are extremely attracted to each other. But we haven’t seen them really working together as partners. Meanwhile she know Sydney and Carmy solely as partners and that they work together, listen to each other, make each other better, have each others backs. Their relationship is actually shown. It works perfectly as a slowburn.

She Ms not jealous of Clair, she annoyed that she’s supposed to be partner and she’s getting no say so in the partnership. They were bonding in his apartment because they were getting to know each other better as friends do. They are literally like brother and sister. She helps him call Clair his girlfriend and tells him how f’d up it is to leave her hanging like that. She doesn’t like Marcus cuz she just doesn’t. Clair is not part of the flashbacks of his trauma, idk where you get that from. She knows his trauma and doesn’t run away from him like most girls would. She’s the dream for him. They’ve both had crushes on each other forever and here they are…. Finally connecting. Their chemistry is off the chain! She brings peace and calm to him. She is the only one who never yells at him (Syd does) she’s the only one who’s always kind and compassionate to him. This is the dichotomy of what he needs.
I don’t care what others think of her; I love her and their relationship too.

Theres an amazing short movie with her in it. At some jewish dinner party thing. You should check it out if you like her work.
