I am a strong supporter of your channel Kevin, but this video was annoying as heck, not gonna lie. You have the nerve to congratulate yourself about being "early" warning about FTX when YOUR CHANNEL was using them as a sponsor. You were not only happy to take their money, you were plugging them every chance you got. I'm sorry, but this is just a continuation behavior like your posting about your trade wins. This kind of stuff makes you sound like a scammer.
Look, I think it's great you're trying to stand up for the truth, I really do. We just don't have enough of that in the world. I believe you're one of the good guys, and your heart is in the right place. But when it's so transparent you're just trying to sell your courses, it dilutes the message and really turns people off.
I'm not trying to hurt you or your channel Kevin, I'm just telling you the truth about how your behavior affects your public image.

Just so you know, as a former taxi driver, I can tell you that Uber came in and undercut taxis in the same way that robotaxis will come in and undercut Uber. But Uber also employed the tactic of spiking their price during busy periods to ensure their profitability. Given that a robotaxi owner does not have to pay a driver, and there will literally be thousands of them, and they will be the "next big thing", and also given that people don't like dealing with people ie rude Uber drivers, robotaxis will probably take over fairly quickly. It may not be $1 a mile, but it will be close to that IMO. As a cab driver, our rate was well over $1 a mile to cover the driver's wages. Uber took a much smaller percentage than taxi owners, because they weren't paying for fuel, maintenance, overheads like taxi garages, admin staff etc. Tesla will clean up. I wouldn't be surprised if all the Uber drivers go and buy Teslas and rent them out because they certainly won't be driving any more.
If full safe FSD and Robo-taxis hit the market, I believe that eventually there will be so many that competition will greatly lower prices. It might even replace people buying their own cars, with them relying on Robo-taxis daily.
Robotaxi will end up becoming Hobotaxi as the homeless people will use them as bathrooms.
Right, but you said it yourself, the the supply can overwhelm the demand. Now, maybe if they fixed the price to still be cheaper than what Uber/Lyft can do as owners will pull their cars from the fleet if they cost more than they bring in. However, like Kevin said, they need to somehow deal with the regulations and licenses depending on who these owners will actually be. (Uber had major hurdles they had to overcome themselves) One thing that hasn't been mentioned yet is, FSD will continuously improve somewhat relative the velocity of miles driven by the fleet. Kevin makes some quite obvious observations here when looked at objectively. That said, in his predictions I believe he sometimes assumes certain issues remain the same over time, like a snapshot in time, versus changing or improving for some reason or other. Time will tell
It would be genius by Tesla to keep the robotaxi business for them, and not the regular people. I mean, they dont need their customers to buy the cars and put them to work. Customers will still be able to buy more expensive teslas and use them with FSD, for personal rides. Shareholders will be still able to get the profits from robotaxis on the EPS, why you as a company would need to give your robotaxis to your customers if you can keep those profits insead (at the end, you are the owner of the technology to make it work)...

I have to agree my biggest concern is the regulatory approval to operate the robo fleet in US cities. I think Tesla has a better chance in China of getting regulatory approval to operate a driverless robo taxi fleet than it does here in the US.

I saw parts of that video that Herbert had with Cern and even their lowest number they had in there was WAYYY too optimistic of 10 million cars in the robotaxi fleet. So I did some quick research and in the entire fleet there are 3.5 million uber drivers and 2 million Lyft driver worldwide presumably at least 50% of Lyft drivers are on both platforms.
As for the $1 a mile thing, I've done some doordashing on the side and if you go in all the driver groups $1 mile is usually the minimum everyone says to accept and thats with a tip and if you are in the wrong neighborhood you wont even get half that. A driverless car at most would get 50cents
as far as FSD goes, I think its a wonderful feature and it is amazing and a convenience, but as a feature its a neat party trick, but I'd rather be engaged and drive myself (but I also hate being a passenger as well)

@@AlexAM808 I learned about medallions a few years ago in NYC. I don't take the taxi company owners as lay downs...in fact they seem pretty scary....and to your point, not going to let robots take jobs easily....
Robotaxis will progressively replace diesel-polluting and costly buses running on dedicated lanes from cities to suburbs with pre-defined stops only. You will be able to get a robotaxi driving on those same dedicated lanes but taking you door-to-door instead of a bus stop.

While I appreciate your more measured response to Robo-Taxis from Tesla and the company in general, it's interesting to consider that there seems to be a sliding scale for ''bulishness'' when it comes to Tesla(the company not the stock) which has a certain correlation to technical knowledge.In general those that follow the company and have a background in Software, AI expertise and engineering etc. tend to be more bullish than those who don't.In particular the so called analysts seem to be particularly sceptical and while having a lot of experience over markets don't seem to grasp the technical revolution that is upon us.
I think it is reasonable therefore to make the argument that those that are more tech savy in the relative fields and that are also very bullish on Tesla,the company, probably have a better understanding of what is achievable than those that sit on the outside who are often more sceptical.

The "earnings" from the robotaxi fleet... That's a ways away if ever worthwhile in terms of risk & insurance. What's more likely is Tesla further devalues it's used vehicles because they don't have HW4, Tesla continues making vehicles (regardless of consumer demand) for their own self driving fleet (lol), and they begin selling discounted fleet cars after 1-2 years of service.

I agree with two things. FSD is not good enough yet. and it wont be 1$ per mile ... the price will plummet really fast, and u can get a taxi 10miles across the city for meaby 5$, tesla takes 30%, u pay for charging and u left with 2-3$ for someone taking 20 minutes drive in you car

I know EVs are the future and TSLA got a head start but others are catching up... yet EVs can't scale exponentially due to charge infra expansion limits so I always doubted those exponential TSLA sales/stock projections. They seem to be struggling on cash reserves when they get $50k per vehicle immediately, instead of needing years to recoup the production costs through $10 trips. MUCH LIKE they could make more money by self financing people's auto loans, but they can't afford to.
