Hi Sven. I want to know if real estate companies are also cyclical? I have 3 stocks in companies that own (Castellum is a big dividend company) and rent/sell and they all look like they have bottomed. Is it time to buy?
@@enricmiralles8542 sure, and recession. But it can bottom already. Often the market predicts it, and then when it happens, the stock rebounds because uncertainty is now gone. I think the sector has a 40% drop already and dividends are 5%.
The worst part about this recession is that consumers are racking up credit card debt. In April alone, credit card debt went up 20% while rates have doubled in a year. Inflation is so high that consumers are literally taking debt for basic life necessities. Collapse is near.

Hi Sven, first of all great videos, very educational and I like your philosophy of Risk vs Reward! What do you think about the fertilizer business? It is also very cycle dependent (Demand driven/ Supply driven) and it seems we are bag in a Demand driven cycle? Are OCI, Yara, Nutrient, etc. potential candidates for your YT portfolio? (most are high dividend and I think some have a low risk high reward ratio!).

Good day Sven, happy to see you talking about commodities. Do you think we could get your thoughts on uranium. Really exciting things happening in that market and there is potential for some explosive returns given the small size of the market.
@@johnl.7754 - yes and no. the current market is already in deficit. miners create 125-140 Mlbs of uranium each year, and the 440 reactors worldwide consumer about 180-200 Mlbs. The difference is currently being filled by excess material from old reactor shutdowns, carry traders, under feeding of centrifuges, etc (secondary supply). That secondary supply is starting to dry up, somewhat because of the Sprott Physical Uranium Trust which started by physical uranium last year. Now add in the the story that China announced it intends to build 100+ new reactors over the next 15 years, Japan wants to restart a bunch of the moth-balled fleet, the UK is planning to build maybe 6, and the drive for countries to create dependable, carbon free energy... and the story is just wildly bullish
Also - as the market for physical U dries up, centrifuges can no longer underfeed the equipment during enrichment... they now need to overfeed the machines to get enriched product out the door quicker to customers. So now that part of the fuel cycle goes from supplying the market an extra 20M units per year, it now CONSUMES and extra 30M units per year.... which just makes the need for new uranium from the miners even greater
Sven, what is your opinion on Grupo México? They mine copper, but also own a huge (majority) stake in Southern Copper as well. They also have a very low multiple for earnings and book value.
Mark Williams taught me how to utilize the volatility of stock and crypto world, I make gain from trading despite the price chart. He has since provide entry and exit points on the securities I focus on. I basically follow his trading pattern and haven't regretted doing so.
A strong carry that helps to explain this sharp decline is the Dollar price. Checking the Dollar Index, which is at its maximum, it is so noticeable that while the index is that high, the commodities will suffer. The FED tried to pump up the USD Value tightening the liquidity and raising interest while other countries kept low interest... which means that the dollar is more robust than other currencies toward the commodities. If you check the price of Copper in EUR, there is no Drop, which means that this decline is not due to a decrease in the value of the commodity but to an increase in the value of the USD.
Hi Sven, 👋 as an engineer I deal with copper every day. I see aplication where copper is a crucial component in manufacturing processes. I don't believe that price will be growing forever as it would affect manufacturing. I also see that energy transition is not possible without atomic energy. What's your views on uranium as a commodity, and companies like yellow cake?
Mark Williams taught me how to utilize the volatility of crypto world, I make gain from trading despite the price chart. He has since provide entry and exit points on the securities I focus on. I basically follow his trading pattern and haven't regretted doing so.
One thing worth pointing out which will probably dampen the long term rise in copper prices because of “electrification” of the the auto industry and solar and wind power.... You don’t NEED to use copper to make electric motors and conductors (wiring). Copper is just the preferred conductor because of history, properties and relative cost. I’m an engineer that over my career, depending on copper vs aluminum prices, have redesigned many electric motors to be wound with aluminum instead of copper. Depending on the cost of copper when your appliances motors’ were manufactured they probably were made with aluminum wire... it works just fine. Batteries, electric motors, generators and solar panels (I’ve never designed solar panels so forgive me if there is some fundamental reason you need copper for solar panels... but I doubt it.) don’t need copper and alternatives are not that difficult to implement if the costs say to do it. I don’t think the folks that are predicting the price serge have considered this. Just my contribution to the uncertainty ; )
As far as I know solar panels use silver, not copper. Also add to this that there is also tech that can replace copper in basically all areas, as we're looking far in the future. Maybe graphene will finally be caught on for example
Hard lessons were learned in the 70s. (The Beverly Hills Supper club fire that killed 165 people.) Now the difference in the coefficient of thermal expansion and how it can cause hotspots at junctions is well understood and building codes have been updated it is safe and common.
Sven - great video, and would much appreciate and feel would be really very interesting for your subscribers, if you could please also make a video/share your view on Uranium/Nuclear industry please? Very similar story to Copper as you may know, with strong fundamentals. Can you please share your view, would be great.
Hi Sven, great analysis ! With regards to the etf you shown as an example, it seems to me that the underlying assets could be undervalued due to their low PE levels (average around 6), regardless of not being companies only copper oriented. With the said, I feel that's a good risk/reward, and since it's a cyclical business, lower evaluations will only give good opportunities in the long term.
Good day Dr. Sven. What do you think about investing in Oroco, which is a copper explorer, which wants to sell the asset once the copper amount in the ground is measured? So that there is no risk related to operating a mine as they want to sell the asset. Also it is not really an explorer but rather a confirmer because feasibility study indicating 800Mt of copper has been done in the past. So that they know there is copper and it is economic to build a mine, and they expect to expand a historical resource by a lot. There is a TH-camr who talked a lot about Oroco as he seems to love this stock. Strange though that the stock price crashed from its high while the management keeps executing well to confirm the historical resource, and the company is fully funded.

Are you positive on anything. Like something that you really feel will do well and grow? It seems that everything you analyze is unclear, unknown with many possible pitfalls. I know nothing is easy and clear in investing but how do you even buy something? It seems your always waiting for the mega downfall to actually invest.
I' m so glad, I'm enrolled in your course. Investing in this times with a margin of safety is all I want to do. (Even if I own crypto too, haha). And I am already in the start holes for start buying copper. 😎 Thanks sven for your hard work for us, and that just for a coffee per day. :) Ah yeah and I have been i Slovenia two times this year, I understand now why you choose that country to life. Hi Sven! Thanks for the awesome analysis, it is so satisfying to understand more about copper industry because I can buy GMEXICOB stocks directly in Mexico stock exchange and backtesting the business if you had invested each month same quantity since 2000 till 2021 you would get a 72% annualized performance reinvesting dividends. Despite that they are not 100% copper mining business 80% of its revenue last year came from mining (82% copper) and it still has a correlation of 0.9 with copper futures, so there are changes to buy the business at good price :D

Copper coil, cup o' Georgia peach -
Down on copperline."

Maybe if investing works too good, I wanna buy there a small property too. 🤙🏽 😁
The EV/Autonomous vehicle adoption will be slower than most people realize.

Commodities super cycle coming
The downward trend is just starting though. Its not even bottom yet.
YEEEEEEEES
Yeah just wait recession is near then you buy copper
