Worked like a charm. Everyone after doing the diagnostic step of changing it to On (USB/Wireless) make sure to uncheck phone and audio and apply under the android device thats connected to the car via bluetooth.
Thanks a lot! It works on my new Jazz. If for some reason the AA stops connecting wirelessly, I just need to go to the secret menu, turn the feature and back on. It's alive again.
Yes, you need this to use Android Auto via Bluetooth. But, it’s not over yet. Simply connecting the phone to the Honda via Bluetooth is not enough. That will only enable phone and contacts, and that is not enough for Android Auto. You need to start the connection from Android Auto on the phone. First, make it forget the Honda and then create a new connection. Choose Via Bluetooth, not USB. At some point, Android Auto will start on the Honda screen and you can finish the setup there. It is difficult, it took me half an hour, but I got it working. Samsumg S20 FE, Android 12. Thanks for posting this video! For some reason, the connection via USB is unstable for Android, for an iPhone it works perfectly. I suspect that the original Samsung cable is not good enough (or broken). Another cable works better, but also not as good as the iPhone.
I own a Honda Jazz EX 2021 model. I tried all this but connecting wirelessly is peoving to be less reliable than coñnwcting via USB. Any suggestions how i can make it as reliable as connecting via USB.
hey, this really works, even surprised my local honda sales agent! but does this work with current model honda HRV? its still original OEM honda player/navigation
I have 2023 HR-V e:hev and it has same menu. I selected android auto as wireless but again unable to connect as wireless. my phone samsung A31 ( android ver: 12) but car' android ver: 8.1 is there any recommendation to do for android wireless connection?
Thanks very much for posting this video. Initially, I had the same issue as others, only audio and phone. But!! But!! But!!! It changed, when I removed (delete) phone in the infotainment system and phone. And then reconnects them, the Android Auto appears!!!!! Ps. i'm using S10 Android 12
Doesn't work on my newly retired 2022 Jazz. I have enabled wireless AA in the hidden menu. When I connect my phone via bluethoot I only see audio and phone and Android Auto is not enabled. Is it possible that it depends on the Android version? My phone has Android 10. Did I do something wrong?
Try to tweak the settings of AA on your phone first then attempt the wireless connection. If no luck, go to the car's secret menu and turn the wireless feature off and on. Android 9 above should work.
Just tried it with a 2021 Jazz and a Galaxy S10, it works however you have to reset the smartphone connection every time before connecting and I think this is because the S10 is too old, before it worked i.e. connecting the normal way through the car's smartphone connection I kept getting a notification on the phone saying my device is not compatible. To get AA connecting wirelessly I had to un-pair the existing bluetooth connection then from the AA menu initiate the wireless connection, this worked but i'm not sure how stable the connection is as I only ran it for a few minutes. After restating the car AA would not reconnect automatically and I was back to the "device not compatible"
yep same backend (probably image build different of the headunit system) but if the option exists on the new civic then android wireless should also work.
@@actionreplay8235 thanks! I'll let you know how I get on. Update: it worked perfectly on my wife's Jazz. I have a Samsung z flip 3 and android auto now appears automatically on the screen every start up for me to use if I want. Thanks a lot for the hack!
What city are you living in NZ? I see you drove past a PaknSave. Do you have RDS working on your FM radio? I complained to Honda NZ and they more or less said bad luck we missed out on that feature. Thanks for the video - Doug
I tried this, after selecting USB/Wireless for Android Auto, the Smartphone Connection still doesn't expose the selection for Android Auto but only Audio and Phone though.
@@parengowenglifestyle4177 yup that's the truth! Although as of late my current car has really jumped in value due to the international chip shortage haha

Wow! Thanks so much! It works perfectly!
I have the HRV eHev and it does have the same menu. Thanks a lot! Unfortunately my One plus 8t is not supported via wireless connection.
Would this work for a 2022 Odessey?
This is Great kabayan, I will definitely try this on my car. Salamat 😃
nice little Jazz, we take delivery of my wifes this month, same colour. I'll stick to my Civic a little longer. Love Honda.

i had no issue with my old S10e, it just works everytime i enter and use the car, ensure you have the latest android firmware i guess
I'm in the UK...do you think this will work with the new civic ehev? It has the same infotainment as the Jazz.

This works really well!
Hi. When you use wireless android auto, are you still able to receive calls on the car's system via bluetooth or do you need to talk on the phone?
You will talk with android auto, the same way you did with bluetooth.
hello i have a honda e: hev, do you think it can be done with a galaxy s21 ultra? thank you
should be mate, have S22 now and it is working :)

Kabayan, why do you think it was disabled by default? will it void the warranty of the car?
it is not publish as standard feature in the brochure eh, nope it wont void warranty as far as i know.

you might need to upgrade your IOS version
Please see my reaction on this video. It is not easy to get it working, but it is possible.
The same thing happens to me on my Jazz 2022. Is it possible that it depends on the Android version? My phone has Android 10
wow. thanks!
When i try this, it only connects via Bluetooth. Not android auto
true watch guy! when your watches cost more than your cars :)
