I have a 2009 model too. My brother in law gave it to me 1 week ago. Its my first bike. I just learned how to ride a bike on it. Though its old, i feel like a sense of freedom riding it. In traffic it does have a presence.

My friend had Karizma and I had Unicorn back in 2006 older version than what you showed here. We enjoyed the ride by exchanging our bikes. Those were the Golden days!
I had crush on Black one since my school days and few years later I bought it on my own ( was discontinued so had to buy a used one) So bought a black 2010 model and from then I swear I started hating travelling through train, Bus so may it be Mumbai - Karnataka, Mumbai - Goa, Mumbai - Nanded and everywhere I go I go on this bike.
This bike is truly beast on Highways, I ride on above 100kmph for hours and hours without anything to worry.
Still now I ride it and daily I travel around 140 kms.
Back in school days my elder friends had this bike and they used to travel a lot and now I know the feel, the pleasure and the feeling of attachment of riding this bike.

I owned this beast for almost 9 yrs when I was in college ab college chode 10-12 saal ho gye... Tab ki ye sports bike thi (head-turner)... Iski jo power, refinement, comfort aur jo ye sound produced karti thi there is no match... Ye gadi bechne ke baad mene kafi sari bike try ki thi mujhe ek bhi pasand nhi ayi... Issi wajah se mene bike chalana hi band kar diya... Iss bike ko chalane ka feeling hi kuch aur tha... Aaj tak (In last month only) mujhe iss gadi ke complements milte rehte hai jinhone bhi isko chalaya tha... Me ab car chalata hoon me car me bhi karizma jaisi feeling dhund rha hoon ye itna sir chadh jati hai jo bhi isko ek bar chalata hai... Todays kids will never know how awesome this bike was, the amount of torque this machine produces is great and the exhaust note is like a machine gun which is firing spontaneously. I have ridden this bike lastely a decade ago.

I had 2005 karizma... It completed more than 170000 before I switched to another bike..
One thing which many people do not know is.. when launched, this bike completed 24 hour run on a track with average speed of around 105kmph... So more than 2400km in 24 hour.. and highlight is even after 24hr run, engine was not at all stressed...
I have done many such fast runs on my karizma... One of them is Mumbai to Jaipur in 17 hours and 20 min... I can't imagine doing that with same confidence on any other sub 300cc bike now..
I still find it difficult to find a bike with qualities like low maintenance, effortless high speeds, neutral handling and reliable...
The bike your are riding is Karizma R.. This model is somehow not that smooth as compare to 2004/2005 models... Company started degrading the quality after 2006..
But anyway this bike is too good.. Its a best bike if you want to tour around India.. Honda should think of relaunching this bike...

Karizma - Forgotten Legend . . . . I still love the looks of this Karizma R. It had such a good engine, Hero should bring it back in some other bikes. The CBZ Xtreme's bored out 200cc engines in the current BS6 bikes like Xpulse and Xtreme 200 are not good for triple digit speeds but Karizma used to be very stress free in the 100 - 115 KMPH range, a comfortable yet fast speed for long distance touring. Hope they bring this engine back with some tweaks in the engine and chassis. Hero ruined the rear/tail look of 2014 model Karizma R and ZMR. They should have have retained the basic old design. Also, they changed the riding posture of the bike whereas people used to love it for it's long tour seating comfort which was gone in the new model, instead people were getting Palm and Back pain. A good number of people still long for Karizma, Hero can still do something and launch a new model according to people's requirements.

I've still my 2007 model n I've modified it to a bobber type tourer bike. I use it for touring these days. But yes, the exhaust is still same. Much loves n respects for my bike still.

Bought her black in August 2003. For 88K. The first Karizma of the college. It was super fun to ride. Felt like celebrity riding her. Used to save on pocket money to feed her Speed93 fuel. Absolutely no knocking then, super smooth. She was such a head turner, especially on red lights..
Best in comfort.. Best in power and pull... Brakes are also very good. And u can over take a racer on the go.
Karizma Speedometer is Completely Digital Setup like car, It uses transducer and Convert Mechanical movements into electrical and then the small rotates dial, so there is no fluctuations in the dial,

I had this bike in my college days. It was stolen and I still miss this bike. I bought pulsar 180 afterwards but pulsar is no way near karizma.

I have a Karizma R 2009 and I've got the fairings off. Kept the top windshield, and added a simple round headlamp. Looks a simple classy cafe racer. I also have a one size fatter rear tyre, which reduces mileage a bit but keeps me safer on the mountain roads I ride on.

I still remember the day I saw it for the first time at the showroom and changed my mind from pulsar 220 to Karizma. It still excites me as it did on the first day.
Regarding the discontinuation of this Legend. The company brought a new update in 2014 which changed the looks of the bike and was totally a failure. The sales went down and it was discontinued.

I used the yellow Karizma R 2006-2015 for several years. I installed the projector headlight that time.I was really happy for its performance. But from 2015 onwards the front visor got cracked and getting spares from Hero dealership was terrible. Hero killed this beautiful product.

I also had Karizma R May 2008 model. I sold in 2018 after split of Hero & Honda and bike was discontinued already in 2013. Now I own Xtreme 200r. Still riding smooth.
