Ive watched this 3 times and its amazing to hear the narrative in the media. If im being objective, I cannot see how someone watches every throw/sack and comes to the conclusion that he needs to be benched for such an abysmal game. That last strip sack, he made the exact right reads (Conk was covered on the out which was his first look, GW had a high safety and he was coming back to his 3rd read which was Breece and needed a split second more to get rid of it) but didnt have the time needed to execute that specific play. He missed throws like any other QB in the NFL and at least 4 sacks werent his fault. The 2 on the first drive of the 2nd half, he has nobody to throw to that is open (you could argue a 3yd crossing rout that would have been blown up by the linebacker on one of them)

    • @joemac999
      @joemac999 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

What??? You didn't see the film. He missed reads all game like he's done his entire career. He caused the sacks by not controlling the pocket and missing receivers. If you think he's not awful you're delusional. He's the Mormon Josh Rosen.

@@joemac999 not sincerely, you don’t know the game and need to learn the All-22, pal. “Missing reads,” and being hit before the read is actually in a position to be open are completely different. Watch the tape again, and if you still don’t get it, keep watching it until you do. Shit, go frame by frame, maybe that’ll help. Are we going to blame Rodgers too when he’s back and he doesn’t do great either because of this line? Or nah, because the hate against Zach Wilson is getting ridiculous. The dude has no protection. Last week he took a couple bad sacks, yes, last night though, he really only took one, the rest, he just didn’t have the time, man. He doesn’t have Justin Fields-like mobility, he isn’t scrambling out of the pocket every single play, and it’s hard when you don’t get a pocket. He missed a couple throws, but there were a few big plays called back with the game still in reach bc of stupid offensive penalties, plus a couple more drops from Lazard. It’s just bad all around and Hall isn’t able to get anything going behind this line, Garrett Wilson is the only receiver consistently able to get open in man, and it’s not like he can wait for GW to get open every single play, but it’s hard with no other options with speed able to catch a ball. He’s not this great quarterback, but he’s definitely better this year than everyone wants to admit, because it’s easy to blame him instead of the coaching staff and management being unable to shore up this offensive line across 3 years, Saleh looks lost on the sideline, it’s a shit show all around, and I’m sorry, but even with Aaron Rodgers, I don’t think we put up many more points with this line and lack of talent on offense outside of a running back and single receiver. He is making the right reads finally, it’s not his fault though that in man, no one is open. The offensive scheme never gives him a slot route option to dump it to, aside from the few times they bring the back out, every route is a 7-yard cuts or deeper, and he doesn’t get the time to let those guys break. Hackett sucks. He can’t adjust this offense well enough to try hiding the fact our line is last in pass block win rate% and consistently loses against speed rush. Zach went 4/4 for 60 yards on a drive to the red zone, and then the next drive he gets the call to drop back once. It’s the inconsistency, lack of a game plan, one dimensional with no unpredictability, and it’s frustrating. Zach Wilson would develop tremendously faster and look miles better in a system that lets him utilize his ability to sling the ball, and catching defenses on their toes, opening up lanes for the run game to take effect. I’m not even going to knock him for the late game fumble, he was in his throwing stance and Turner just got bullied on the edge into him allowing a hand to get on the ball. The first fumble, he had to throw it sooner, but it’s hard when, looking at the tape, again, no one is open. Now, idiots are going to read this and think I believe Zach Wilson is a hall of fame quarterback, God’s gift to the Jets, etc.. No. I just think he has improved since last year in ball placement, footwork, and he is making better reads, quicker in most scenarios. He isn’t perfect, still has a lot to improve on, but he has gotten a lot better than he was last year. I just think this offense and coaching are setting him up to fail. Saleh looks like he has no idea what he is doing with zero knowledge of how an offense works, and Hackett’s system looks like it only worked because Aaron Rodgers was able to check every play at the line. They’re failing him. Management has failed him in setting up an offensive line that JD has worked on for 3 years by trying to find cheap options instead of paying for an all-pro guy, and it’s just bad all around.

I was at this game sitting at midfield with a great view of everything… A few things :
    1. We are horribly coached on offense, we were going “tempo” to start the game which I think is a good thing! Problem is we were disorganized, slow, trying to get guys in position… taking forever to snap the ball… did we practice at all?!
    2. Our personnel usage is brutal, I can’t stand to watch uzomah anymore, he cant move, doesn’t get open. Isn’t catching balls that hit him in the chest. A lot of tight ends sets with no guys running routes and not blocking anyways !
    3. Zach still misses some throws and is a lil hesitant to run and use his legs… he needs to be willing to run for positive plays that shovel pass pissed me off 😂
    4. This offensive line, I mean cmon guys. I know injuries suck but we can’t protect at all
    5. Guys do not get open, which doesn’t help point 4 because long developing routes and plays require more time.

Zach would do great on a team with a line and weapons like the Cowboys, Eagles, Redskins, Colts or Cheifs. We have no #2 option at WR at all. Is it because Wilson cant handle more than that? We just dont know. Nobody ever seems open because opposing teams are well prepared for the simple 1 or 2 passing plays we run. They need to do better or be replaced. 3) the gameplan needs to account for some of our shortcomings better. 4) we need more explosion on the field, not seeing it from Dalvin. Regarding Zach: 1) you know our OL is struggling, why hold the ball so long??? So many times hits the top of his drop and hold hold hold, throw late or get sacked - bad things happen. 2) when he is decisive, he looks MUCH better. Needs to be more aggressive!! In hindsight, we should have taken the 49ers trade down got 2 extra 1sts and selected Parsons. No QB was worth the #2 pick in that draft. CJ Stroud is missing 4 of his 5 OL and goes for 470 yards and 5 TDs. Josh Dobbs doesn't take 1 snap with his teammates and scores 3 TDs. Heck, I've shown the stat, through 2021 and 2022, when Zach starts we are 31st in pass yards. When anyone not named Zach Wilson starts for the Jets we are 25 pass yards per game better than Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, who rank #1

You guys wanted Sam gone just as bad as you want, Zach. How bout the kid gets a reset since LaFleur did absolutely nothing...? I remember advocating for SD as well, trade down and surround the kid with picks...but that's why we watch the game...and not run the team. See y'all in Vegas!

@@ariannasadventures6069 nah, trading Sam was the right move that trade netted us Breece in the end. We could have had any QB - White, Flacco, and Johnson all went for over 300 yards per game with worse weapons and a worse OL than Zach. @JetsTalk247 1000% with the trade. Wouldn't be fair to Sam for a 3rd offensive coordinator/scheme in 4 years. We can all see Zach's growth this year with Hackett and Rodgers in his ear. He made mistakes, missed throws but this game was more than just him. I'm a season ticker holder that lives in Canada. Believe me the 8hr drive to see ZW play in the rain against NE this year was miserable. ZW was 4 and 0 when he came back last year, managing the game and he was still getting throttled by all the armchair gms saying he wasnt throwing over 300yards. But then he went off against NE 3 TDS 2 Int over 300yards but a loss. I rathee have him as game manager, dink, dunk...and rely on the defense instead of just chucking the ball. I'm gonna trust Rodgers with who he wants as our OC, over anyone on YT. As a team though we really need to clean up the dropped balls and the selfish penalties.

Watching the game real time, I thought Zach played poorly. After watching this film, Zach didn't play as bad as I thought, even if you set aside the garbage time stuff. I gave up on him after the Jacksonville game last year, then again after the Patriots game this year. It's the lousy body of work that seeps into each weekly assessment of his performance. For this week, the whole offense was terrible. I give him a pass for this game, but if the offense can't get points after the first few series against the Raiders, they need to pull him. Do something, anything for a spark. Hackett better have a real gameplan this week. I suggest utilizing 3 tight ends on almost every play to help the oline. Please double team Max Crosby on pass plays!

The easiest way to remove the "blame the QB" is to show everyone else that Siemian is not the answer. My analysis:
    - There has been 1 constant on offense the last 3 years. In this game alone Zach took 6 sacks in which he had 3+ seconds to throw the ball. He ran out of bounds behind the LoS instead of throwing ball away for no gain. Knocked us out of FG range at a critical point in game. And got stripped twice, directly leading to 14 points.
    - OL is not perfect, WRs are not perfect, but a decent QB should elevate the play of his teammates. In 3 years, i have not been able to say "Zach made X look so much better than he is". His completion % is artificailly high thanks to poor decisions (Conklin 2 yards on 3rd and 10 or a flip of the ball to the RB rather than running for 1st down) - against the worst pass defense in the league, 6 points is unacceptable.

Well if we didn’t have untimely penalties, or dropped passes. Maybe we could of scored more than just 6 points, but we didn’t. So I guess the easy thing to do at that point is blame Zack. He’s not the same QB as last year. Since the offense is stagnant we just have to blame him because his prior 2 years led to similar results. You guys cried that all we needed is average QB play. We’re getting average play. Guess the goal post moved back on that take. Since we can’t score it’s only on Zack. Don’t get me wrong he’s not a great QB but this loss isn’t on him. Using his past to tell his current story isn’t really breaking game film down either. It’s more like guilty by association no matter what you guys see. Wish we had a better QB but we don’t. Just because Zack isn’t good enough doesn’t mean this loss is on him because it isn’t. Idc what anyone says

Q: Can you please tell me exactly how you start your count? On 3 of the sacks he got dropped at 3 seconds which means they were on him at 2-2.5 seconds.
At first I thought it was him (because after watching his first 2 years, I'm used to it being him) but w/ the exception of i believe the last sack, he's clearly not getting enough time to do anything w/ the ball.

@@JetsTalk247 I respectfully disagree…. the first fumble no. The second fumble yes. But by that time seems like the whole offense was out of the game. Not that they were ever in it. The first fumble was a lack of awareness but shit the lineman got ate up in less than 3 seconds. With nobody open. Trust me bro. I understand the frustration. Zack isn’t that good but like I said he wasn’t the main reason we lost. That’s all I’m saying. The drops and penalties make it look worse because we had no positive drives. Can’t say we just need Zack to not turn the ball over and then in the same breath say we lost because he’s holding onto the ball a tad too long. That’s nitpicking and being biased. Even Laveranues Coles said it on the 33rd team podcast. Doesn’t matter who’s back there. With that O-line…ain’t nothing getting done. Idc about stat sheets. I only care about W’s. We lost because the entire offense including Zack played like shit. It’s just easy to blame him because he’s the usual suspect.

Fine given the situation. The jets have a 1960s style offense. Their gameplan isn’t designed to score points, it’s designed to not lose the game. The Jets play to win games 10-9 and you see it with games like this. And that starts at the top. As far as execution goes, even with that. Obviously there’s more ZW could’ve done. But there’s a ton more everyone on this side of the ball can do. That said, this offense functioning at a high level is aiming for the bottom third, that’s on coaching. Makes you wonder what AR could’ve even done with this unit. My recommendation is to inverse their philosophy. The jets are very boom or bust offense, they don’t have the play caller or the personnel to work methodical drives. Which means, like KC game, take more deep shots. Legitimately take the leash off ZW, he’s being over coached as showcased by the fact that he’s more indecisive now than he was as a rookie. 50 yard int is as good as punt, trust your defense to make the stop. Maybe 3-4 plays hit a game to get you in FG range or get a TD, 16-18 ppg is still an improvement.
