I feel like I'm in the middle between these two people because I believe both arguments. On one hand I think you could definitely benefit from lessons whether it's a necessity for someone or not, but I also believe singing A LOT can work for some people to have a very good voice. The lessons could be needed for someone who isn't necessarily a prodigy or even talented at all for that matter while those who are either extremely talented or who are true prodigies could figure it out because they know to listen to their bodies so they can fix a problem that's getting in the way of doing something specific. I for months COULD NOT control my vibrato. Then I realized the reason was for not engaging my abs (after breathing in from it) like I should. And after I started fixing that issue, within maybe a month of practicing at the most, my vibrato was in much better control than before. Talented singers are able to fix problems like this on their own because they know when there's a problem and they know even after that to search for what is causing the problem and mentally quit doing that bad habit when practicing.
Hayley M I agree being a naturally high soprano having to sing a song for a mezzo soprano for a competition, at least for me it hurts to hit low notes. And a C4 is the end of my range because I recently took a two year break from singing but my highest note is a G6. Its hard for to even hit a C4 without being sharp.
Sierra Boggess tem uma voz privilegiada, muito linda. É uma artista completa, canta, encanta e representa muito bem. Sucesso é o que lhe deseja o BRASIL.
If Sierra ends up playing Christine alongside Anthony Warlow as Phantom, I would DEFINITELY go see that!! For me, and a lot of people, they're the best Phantom and Christine there is. No one can match them (aside from Ramin as Phantom I guess)
Agreed. Those two have GOT to play opposite each other in Phantom. Anthony Warlow's like the best Phantom there is imo (Ramin is a close second for me), and as for Sierra, there is like no competition with Christine. She is unmatchable. Megan Picerno comes close tho, and Ana Marina who played alongside Anthony in the 2007 Aussie production
Straight off the plane: “It’s 16 hours of other people’s stuff.” Charming as she is, that is snobbism & that we are supposed to be impressed by Las Vegas. UGH. Then her “On behalf of everyone in musical theatre, thank you” (to ALW) completely ignores (is she ignorant of?) the entire British musical comedy scene.
She said "It's 16 hours of other people's breath", singers, especially on the professional scene, really try to prevent themselves from getting sick as it can prevent them from doing their job well. Being in such a close, confined space on a plane would be air full of germs, especially for 16 hours. She wasn't being snobbish, she was being reasonable considering her job.
Well I hate flying because of being crammed in with so many others, so I guess that makes me a “snob” too 🙄 I don’t think anyone enjoys commercial planes really...
This is such a beautiful interview. They ask great questions and let her talk all she wants. Sierra is such a beautiful human being! Inside and out!
I did not think it was possible for a woman to be so gorgeous and have a gorgeous voice at the same time. now I can die in peace lol
Sierra to play Ariel in The Little Mermaid remake!! Like if you agree! She is phenomenal

Great questions!! Amazing interview! Americans should take notes, this is HOW you interview an artist
princepeterwolf I couldn’t agree more.
_phew_ I'm glad she believes that about singing lessons.
Kiersten Simpson it's still important to get lessons, tho! It helps make sure you're singing in way that's not damaging toward your voice!!

Sierra could play Eliza no problem #Hamilton
oh god i really hope so, that would be incredible
She can't consistently sing low enough. She's not a mezzo.

She's white

Warlow is the best Phantom of all time in my eyes, what a talent!

I was soooo sad when she announced the cities and Perth wasn't one of them!
She is amazing best Christine ever
Like all others she doesnt come to adelaide. How disappointing.
I've read that one of the guest stars of this program was Bridget Neval. Do you have the episode(s) where she was in?
you rock!
😍😍😍
I think that sierra boggess likes to sing
Wow she really dyed her hair red this time. Harkening her Ariel days.
Funny how both Ariel and Christine have crimson hair
My queen
From her outfit here, She'll make a great poison ivy..
Philistine
She looks like Fiona!
She does doesn't she? Green top, red hair

She thanked Warlow not Webber

If you have seen any of her TH-cam videos, you would know she is anything but snobbish.
