    Rest in peace, Barry Cryer.
    Yet another true British comic leaving us behind.

    I was in the audience for the Poole episodes. The reason why Tony Hawkes got a big round of applause when he finished singing the Macarena is because he already did it brilliantly and was spot on, but he said the ‘f’ word, so they had to re-record it and he got it spot on a second time! John Naismith also gave a brilliant warm-up. It was a brilliant evening.

    So wonderful to hear Barry Cryer one more time. 😇☮️
    47:50 The “complete quotes” about Putin was eerily prescient.
    Dee and Godliman both star in the sitcom Bad Move, along with Miles Jupp. I’ve only seen bits and pieces. Looks good though.

      @@helenmolesworth5361 Antidepressants and avoiding political nonsense (especially the crazier ones- nationalists, remainers, ranting zealots and so forth) - try talking to friends, doing things you enjoy, being creative. Try challenging your thoughts, rather than letting them getting on top of you..! :o

    This was a brilliant year, but Osman, Calman and Brydon in the final episodes were on FIRE! 😂

    I listen to comedy while I'm working. Finding stuff like this makes the day much easier. The Goons would be proud of their legacy. As a massive Goodies fan, it's great to hear Graeme and Tim again. RIP Tim Brooke-Taylor. You were such a huge part of my childhood.

    2:10:16 I live in Sweden and I'm quite old. Over the years, I've assembled loads of IKEA furniture starting in the 1970s long before IKEA even opened a store in the UK. I've assembled office furniture and home furniture for ourselves, our kids and my in-laws. Not once, not ever, not one single time has anything been missing from the package and not one piece of furniture was difficult to assemble, rickety or unfit for purpose. I've either been extremely lucky or perhaps lazy, sloppy IKEA comedy is based upon nothing at all. I wonder which it is?

    • @videosfromelsewhere926
      @videosfromelsewhere926 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      The quality of the items sold at IKEA stores in other countries is lower than in Sweden, unfortunately. In the USA we get IKEA items that are sent directly to the USA from manufacturers in China or Southeast Asia and they have often been made to substandard specifications or they have been previously opened by other customers or by careless freight handlers at some point along the way, which is another reason why hardware is sometimes missing. Come to an American IKEA and you may be disappointed, but good for you that you have it easier than us. I can't speak for the UK stores but perhaps they have a similar problem with customers or staff opening the boxes.

    • @videosfromelsewhere926
      @videosfromelsewhere926 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I should also mention that we have different items in the USA stores than what you find in Europe. The items here are engineered and priced to compete with Wal-Mart or Target stores and the only way to remain price competitive is to sacrifice quality. IKEA cabinets, desks and tables are particularly disliked because the wood is particleboard, basically sawdust and glue, which inevitably warps, bends or fails with time due to lifestyles and climate conditions in the USA. We usually have to replace items made with particleboard after one or two years due to humidity causing failure, while solid wood lasts for decades.

      And in other news, possessing a sense of humour was made illegal in the late ‘70’s in most Scandinavian countries. 🤦‍♂️
