Flybe - A TRIBUTE (1979-2020)

Following a devastating number of years for aviation, on the 5th March 2020, Flybe ceased operations. Another beloved UK airline to fall victim to the current economic climate. After more than 41 years of operation, we say goodbye to another wonderful airline.
Flybe have been close to my heart for many years, I've met some amazing people that work for the airline and have spent numerous years photographing and filming Flybe's colourful fleet. I hope this Tribute will act as a small token of my appreciation for everything the amazing staff at Flybe has done over the long history of the airline. You'll all be missed amongst the skies.

Im ground crew at Belfast City, that day back in March, 2 years ago was by far the worst and most horrible day I’ve ever experienced. Walking into work at 4 am, seeing the dashes parked up, covered in ice and blocked in with belt loaders and snow clearing equipment did bring tears to my eyes. As Flybe was the only based airline at Belfast, our entire airport family was torn apart. So many amazing people who I’m glad to have been able to call friends I haven’t and probably will never see again. Flybe as we know it may be gone but never will be forgotten for those who felt it that day.

Well flybe lives on in Airline Manager 4. I've named my airline after it. One of my routes isn't the sort of route flybe flies, LHR to EWR!
