I forgot to ask you earlier what brand of diapers your currently using. I know before you said you used Huggies Special delivery but it looks like Arrow has on different ones this time. Thank you!!
Just a heads up! I was having technically issues with my hatch as well and reached out to the company (we love the product). Apparently there are a few duds out there. They sent me a new one free of charge (even passed the manufacturing insurance policy due date). The new one doesn’t skip or have any issues. Reach out to the company, they have great customer service.
I really appreciate you making sure moms don’t feel judged for doing things differently. Question do you ever feel judgments or pressure from family or friends ? Because sometimes that’s the hardest even when well intentioned
I don’t really feel pressure but sometimes I feel misunderstood about why I keep a schedule, strict about naps, or BLWing. I really do love all advice though, even if it’s different than mine!
I loved all of these. Especially the nap pod. I know I had expectations for our child and how we'd raise him - but sometimes you get a child that doesn't match your parenting plans. Ours has always had such a hard time sleeping, no matter what we did. We finally turned a corner around 2 ys old, but he's still only a good sleeper if we never miss one of the 10 specific details he needs. The grands all want sleep overs and we just can't yet. Everyone likes to tell us he's like this because we let him, but we don't. It's not a matter of we didn't try hard enough. We tried and tried and tried. And eventually we just realized that just like babies are born with their personality already in tact, they're born with their personal challenges already in tact too. So we stopped trying to make him a different sleeper than he is and just embraced his specific sleep needs. Our family has never been happier, or more well rested. And I've used almost all the suggestions you made, and I agree with them.:)
We sang the clean up song at my preschool and on Barney and Friends! Although we had an extra verse, (same melody though) you can use it if you wanna switch it up ;) Clean up clean up everybody everywhere. Clean up clean up everybody do your share.
Yes, I used to sing this song in day care with those lyrics and every time I hear her sing it and doesn't go the the "everybody do your share" I feel like its incomplete lol.
The "don't react" is the biggest one IMO. my husband and I have done this since he was little because we quickly realized he falls A LOT and he is very rarely hurt or scared. When we go to the playground, he is constantly tripping, bonking into things, etc and whenever my friends or family see him being so chaotic, they are like OMG IS HE OK OMG WATCH HIM OMG OMG OMG and im just like, he's fine, let him be. Parents know their babies best which means we know their capabilities and injuries too.
When I feel like motherhood is hard and my toddler goes to the daycare almost all day and I have my husband to help 24/7 I remember Britney and how much she got it together ! Inspiring
Brittany you have such a beautiful baby girl! I look forward to every Monday seeing you both, you are so strong and inspiring. Sending love from Australia 🇦🇺 💜 xx
Omg thank you for the tips!!! Just ordered the slumberpod, I think it's going to be such a huge help. I look after 2 toddlers who nap at different times and it's so hectic sometimes. This is going to be such a help I think.
100% for the Slumberpod! Such a coincidence that I got inspired to buy it when I first saw it in one of your videos at your mum's place, and now that I just bought it you make a video on it. Such a lifesaver indeed!!!
We do the clean up song too! 😅I learned it from way back in Kindergarten and I thought it would great to incorporate in our everyday lives so that we (and baby) know when it's time to pick up our toys.🙌
Car seat tech here - please be mindful of projectiles in the car and no paci attached to harness straps. 💕 Seriously brilliant idea though, car rides are rough at my house too!
Pre-school teacher here! 👋 I think it’s very easy to judge parents on how they choose to raise their child, but I always try and remind people who are judging: kids are all different, just like adults are all different. Do you need a sleeping mask and soothing sounds when you go to sleep? Or do you need a window open? It’s the same for kids! If you find something that works for you as a parent and that makes your kid have quality time sleep, that’s amazing. A lot of people argue that it’s “better” to teach a child to be able to sleep anywhere in other words during daylight in the room and noise around them, but that just doesn’t work for everyone and let me tell you, ALOT of kids can’t sleep like that. If your kid can do that, consider yourself lucky! So let’s not judge each other when it comes to making sound choices for our children because we’re all different and we’re all just trying to give what’s best for them and to respect their needs. Thank you for reading my Ted talk 😂
You are amazing thank you for all the tips and tricks, i always find it helpful!! I’ve learned that the daycare for a working from home mom was a life saver, it was tough to get used to but eventually i have so much time to finish work and chores around the house! We have breakfast and last snack together and i breastfeed at a daycare twice a day so we have plenty of time to have fun 🥰
This is so helpful! My little girl is turning 6 months soon and I love being able to get some sense of what's ahead for us with her being my first baby 😌💞
I remember early on you mentioned how you wished Arrow didn’t need it to be so dark for sleep and I made it my goal to get my baby to nap during the day without black out curtains. So thank you to your tip from early baby days I now have a light out daytime sleeper. I always love your tips and tricks videos! And can’t believe Arrow is 15 months!!!
Yes ! To this ! With my first son I did the black curtains and i regret so bad!!!!! For such a long time we went able to go out of the house because in hotels or things like that have more than one window or a huge window! I want able to covert that, such a pain in the ass, thanks God now he is not so "stric" with the darkness (27 months) I'm pregnant with my second and I promise myself that I will let him to get use to natural light 😅
What car seat are you using? My baby is growing out of his infant car seat but not big enough to be in booster since he should be rear facing. My baby is 8 months going on 9 and weighs a little under 30 lbs
My baby is the same way Brittany. He needs to sleep in his crib or pack and play, since he likes to toss and turn while sleeping. Also the sound machine is a must!
Thanks for this video! My daughter just turned 13 months today, so this video came at the perfect time. ❤️ Also would love to know where you got the sweater from. 😆
Brilliant video! If you have more tricks would love to learn about them. The tooth brush as a car toy made me 😂 very relatable. They are some special car ride books in Germany called “baby pixi unkaputtbar“ they saved us in car rides. They are thin, light and safe for car rides. Also difficult to destroy. There must be similar stuff in the US too.
I have the opposite issue with sleep. My baby hates sleeping alone. When I transfer her to her crib or bassinet she would cry and cry even when she was very little. For a month she slept in her crib but once 4 month sleep regression came about it was game over and we’re back to where we started
Your "clean-up song" 🎵 🎶 is a total spinoff of the Barney clean up song & the 90s baby in me cant help but be like Brittany!! Youre not finishing the song!!!! "Clean up, clean up, everybody everywhere ~ Clean up, clean up, Everybody do their share" 😄😅🤣💜💜💜
pedialyte popsicles are a life-saver. I'm eating them myself right now because I'm so dehydrated (2 months pregnant). My diet has basically changed to coconut water, any watery food I can find (fruit, soup, etc), and pedialyte popsicles lol. I generally get dehydrated super easily, so pregnancy hasn't helped on that front at all.
I worked in childcare for years so I was super familiar with the clean up song and how helpful it was. My child on the other hand 😂…was not a fan of it. Any other music is perfectly fine for us to clean up to, but something about that song has always ground her gears. And I’ve tried ALL the different versions out there. There a Trap for Kids version that I LOVE, but she still hates it 😅
I like telling my baby our plans too and also what I am or will be doing for her when dressing/bathing etc :) When she was very young, I even made up jingles to signal milk time so she knows that I know, that she is hungry 😆
My mom sang that clean up song but it went like “clean up clean up everybody everywhere, clean up clean up everybody do their share” in that same tune lol hearing it again unlocked a childhood memory.
@@brittanybalyn thanks.. first time mama here and I am currently in the first month post partum and everything is still pretty wild .. I am glad I still have time to start doing it! Thanks ☺️
A big hack for me I recently found out was to give my 9 month old son a piece of celery to chew on for his teething. He loved it so much. It took a lot to finally take it away from him when it was all dirty from him crawling around with it for a while. Cheaper than a teething toy and he gets the celery juices!
I really need to do the ‘car toys’ hack 😅 only time I think of it is when I’m already driving and my daughter is whinging in the back. I will say, from personal experience I would advise caution with the ‘letting this child know what’s happening the next day’. Some children think the next 30 mins is the next day and wonder when the heck grandma is coming 😆
I lowkey don’t like the hatch either 😅 my tap ability stopped working when I connected to wifi. When it’s not on wifi it randomly turns off. So frustrating!
Number 6, so true. Sometimes my son (now 8 months) falls over and you can SEE him lay still and wait 1, 2, 3 seconds to see if he gets a reaction from me! Haha! And I ignore it or just smile and say: "Oopsy Daisy. Did you do a tumble?" And he picks himself up again. And if he does hurt himself for real, he will cry instantly so I know it is for real that time!

Hahaha! I didn’t say because they sold out. It’s loveshackfancy and I got it during they’re Labor Day sale. They’re VERY pricey but do 1 or 2 sales a year. On sale it was $70 but very high quality!

Arrow looking at you as you sing the clean up song, processing and putting stuff away. So cute

Just great tips to make our life easier, thanks for the video.

she's so good at cleaning up!!!
omg that sweater is so cute?!?! where is it from 😍
I have a genuine question about the sleeping pod since I like to blackout the room for my baby! Is there good air circulation in it?
Yes, like a normal tent! I keep the room at 72 degrees and Arrow just in a 0.5 tog sleep sack. She’s never woken up clammy or cold :)
You are so sweet and kind 🥰 what is the brand of these sweater ??😍
I need to check out the slumberpod. My daughter needs her own space too, she didn't even like me baby wearing her, she would push away lol
