  • Hello Friends!
I made a grinder stand with a linear guide slide mechanism.
    jisaku-koubou.com/downloads/a...
    【Plan List】
    jsk-koubou.stores.jp/
This jig is designed to use a disc grinder safely.
There is no need to hold down the material by hand, and the handle is ergonomic and easy to use.
The slide moves about 250mm. Wide materials can now be cut with high accuracy.
Epoxy resin and aluminum are used for the linear bush housing.
In addition, a thrust bearing is used for the rotating part, achieving high accuracy and smooth rotation.
The linear bush has a dustproof felt bush attached.
Thrust bearings have a structure that prevents dust from entering.
Thrust bearings are inexpensive and cost less than 600 yen. You can make it cheaper than it looks.

Wow! Amazing gig, perfectly done with a system mecanics of high grade. My only concern, if I can: you perhaps trap high temperature sparks inside the saw slot and burn your gig (and perhaps more?).

At first that was my concern too. But I think that the airflow that might keep a small fire going is too little inside the slot. And the metal topping also cools down the wood a little bit.

May not seem like enough air to combust instantly. More of a concern is if there was an ember that smolders. Maybe some saw dust nearby that was neglected and just before leaving for the day or to leave the area unattended. Had a personal experience with a smoldering ember that caused minor damage, but only because it was caught just in time. Just seed for thought.
