Jamaica's Usain Bolt sprints onto the Olympic scene in London 2012, let's look back at all Bolt's performances where he beat his own Olympic record in the 100m, claimed 🥇in the 200m and 4x100m with his compatriots. Bolt set a time of 9.63 in the 100m, 19.32 in the 200m and he along with his Jamaican team ran 36.84 in the 4x100m relay event. Enjoy watching!

@AJ B No one's trying to downplay his achievements (that would be an impressive feat) but the fact that he is so tall with so long a stride but is fast and strong enough to compensate for his inherently heavier weight means that he does have a real advantage. Of course not that it would matter if he hadn't out in the sheer amount of dedication, time, commitment, and work that he has, though.
@@marcasdebarun6879 it's not so easy to run that fast at his height. Bolt usually has troubles during his start because of his height. It's true that height in paper will help to run faster in sprints but that height lies between 5'10-6'2.
If Bolt didn't hold back in the last few meters, his records would have been more than unbreakable

I often wonder when he was at his peak between 2008-2009 if he could have gone even faster in those one off races where he didn't do any rounds but he is a championship guy I guess.
He didn't hold back in the 100m final Olympic record which was the only record he set here, looked like he was going for the world record again the way he dipped on the line despite winning clearly .. he may have marginally improved his own 200m Olympic record but not enough to break his own world record, he hardly eased off at all with Blake challenging him all the way.
Seeing how quick Bolt got past Warren Weir in the 200m final is actually frightening

@@MrMrjack18 I think 2008-2009 was his prime but I agree about it being his best Olympics because he was challenged, we weren't sure what kinda form he was in (due to injury) and in the end he pulled it off.
Maybe because he had more competition here than 2008 but 2008 he was faster and broke all the world records.

Height does gives an advantage. His legs cover more distance in less footwork while others have to keep up with energy for same distance.

Kind of annoying how he doesn't give his 100% all for every single race (heats and finals alike) from start to finish; we likely would've seen more world records if he did.

I understand he doesn't go all out in any of the heats or semis but even that 200m final he still looked like he slowed up and relaxed in that last 20m, this dude simply brims with confidence.
I still think he could've beaten 9.58 WR at least by a little in 2008 when he whipped both arms out and beat his chest with 20m to go.
He had pain in his back from previous injury so he knew at that point he was not going to beat 19.19s so he slowed down on the line and made point to blake that he didn't have to even go 100% out to beat him. He would probably ran 19.25s going all out. He was not enough fit to beat wr he said himself he was too tired after the bend.
9.58s he could beat if he executed the 9.63s race better. He overstrided last 3 steps and miss stepped once on his transition.
Bolt jogging 9.8’s will never be done again 🥲. GOAT!
Legit if bolt took every race 200% seriously that 9.58s for 100m would probably be way less. He knows he’s the fastest human in recorded history might as well have fun with it.
