IMPORTANT NOTE - not predicting their performance will be the same!
Just that it's not a "WOW!" hire. Fans can talk themselves into enthusiasm if they try, but it doesn't come naturally.

Honestly makes me feel better.. Satterfield was somebody we needed to rebuild the program back to consistent over .500 teams.. he just wasn’t gonna the guy to be able to take us higher.. if we can get a Satt to get us back to close .500 regularly then that’s good enough

Just want to make a comment that I don’t believe that the Big East is a mid major conference. It’s P5 level. Had to correct myself after the fact.
Holloway resume speaks for it self a prefect fit Seton hall isn't a mid major he coaches in the big east

Every guy that has been on the list would have won a minimum of 16 games with this past roster and some woukd won over games. It probably is going to take someone to right the ship for a few years to get to 20-22 wins and who knows, maybe the new hire will be "that guy". But if not, replacing a coach of a 20 win program will be easier than winning 12 games in 2 years. With NIL money, a 22k seat arena, and a great history, a coach who is hungry with a personality who can sell the program can turn it around. And maybe a few of the current players going into the portal could reverse their decisions. With potentially 500 kids in the portal, you only need to pluck about 6-7 kids.
As far as Schertz, you don't win nearly 80% of your games without knowing how to coach. Nate Oats was a high school coach prior to Buffalo. Payne was hired having not won a game at any level and yet he was hired. Duke took an assistant and former player. North Carolina and Purdue also. So do you roll the dice with a coach with some success who is newer or take someone who could questionable character issues.
This weekend, many of the coaches had tough outcomes. Scott Drew had another early exit. May let a game slip away. Four others, Tang, Cronin, Musselman, and Holloway didn't even make the tourney and 2 of them nit ecen the NIT. No one will be a sure thing in this new world of college basketball.
Just throwing it out there. With all the upset (UL/UK) fans, maybe it’s time to talk NBA expansion with the league. Time to move forward, go all in and go pro.

Bryce Drew has a great coaching resume at 3 bottom feeder schools. 6 ncaa tournament appearances in 12 years at valpo, vandy, and grand canyon. 5 conference tournament championship
Holloway beat U Conn twice and Ky in the NCAA at St. Peter’s but can we pull him away from Jersey? If not then turn to Mussleman,Tang, Wade in that order

ISU definitely got snubbed. 26 wins and a NET of 29 plus 2 weeks in Top 25. Definitely worthy of Last 4 in. I’m probably biased since I live in Terre Haute but I know basketball talent. I’ve been involved with AAU basketball for 20 plus years. Early years as a head coach and eventually as a Division 1 Liason in the AAU Midwest region. If (big if) ISU retains Shertz, current players and next years recruiting class (6’7”, 6’8” and 6’11””) they have a good chance of not only making next years NCAA tournament but going deep into the tournament.

I don't know of one louisville fan who was excited for the Kenny Payne hire. We where willing to give him a chance. That hire was on the AD not the fans. They need to hire Will Wade. That's who we think can turn things around.

All good points but why not give one of these lower profile coaches a chance. I really never understood the concept of hiring higher profile coaches that have been let go from other high profile colleges. By all means don’t hire these guys. Louisville should approach Calipari😂😂😂. Now that would shock everyone. If my memory serves me correctly, Louisville took a chance on a low profile coach in 1971. Coach Crum only had head coaching experience as the Freshman head coach at UCLA and head coach at Los Angeles Pierce JC and assistant at UCLA. They hired him on the basis of being an assistant under Johnny Wooden. I realize Louisville was not a power house program in 1971 but it still doesn’t change the fact that they took a chance on a fairly unknown coach.
WVU just hired the best coach in the MVC Darian Devries. Who actually made it to the tournament.

Don’t do it please. We want to keep him in Terre Haute a few more years. Probably not going to happen though. Schertz started the season making $300,000 and they increased it to $365,000 during the season. It is now rumored (stress rumor) that they’ve offered him $850,000. St. Louis has supposedly offered him quite a bit more. ISU tuition revenue is approximately 84 million while St. Louis is close to 800 million. We will know very soon what Shertz’s decision will be. Fingers crossed. If he comes back to USU and they retain their players as well as next year’s 3 quality recruits, they will be a team to watch out for.

This coaching search has been a complete disaster Josh Heird had plenty of time to have his ducks in a row. Now he is in desperate mode and that's not a good look on him as a Athletic Director. Will Wade is the best current option in my opinion after taking a closer look at the other candidates. I know he comes with baggage but this program has been in a complete dumpster fire for a while now away so what's the difference iit would be a quick fix if Will Wade was hired
