- In this video, I’ll be explaining all Affinity Publisher tools and uses, along with a brief demonstration of how they work. Version 2 of Affinity Photo has much more to offer than just the tools located in its toolbar, but this tutorial should serve as a good starting point.

Regarding the move tool:
How many times have you typed a "V" in a text frame because the move tool is still active? Well, if you find this happenning frequently, then I suggest re-assigning the shorcut key from "V" to F1 or any function key. Publisher does not recognize function keys as text. Should eliminate the problem. Works for me.

This was very helpful! I'm trying to switch from Adobe products to Affinity and everything just seems so much more intuitive in Affinity.
I switched so long ago when Designer couldn't even do all the things I needed, but I could tell they were on the right path, never once opened any help file, things just came naturally! 👌
I would rather be boiled in the deep fryer at McDonald's than pay a subscription fee. Ha!

1) Can you tell me if there's any difference in opening a photo with the Affinity Photo app, and opening it in the Photo persona while inside Publisher? Meaning is there any difference in the available tools of Photo when opening it via the Photo Persona as opposed to opening it directly with Photos?
2) Iis it possible to have all 3 apps (Photo, Designer, Publisher) launchable in the Photos app like it's possible when in Publisher (there are 3 icons/buttons of the 3 apps on the top left in Publisher)? I don't see them in Photo, so maybe there's a way to "toggle them on" in Photo so that they're also available there?
Someday, in a planet far far away, some youtube instuctors will realize it is a passive way of learning something. Most have a scattered approach and everything is forgotten within days. Active learning is far superior.
I highly recommend the "Adobe Classroon in a Book" approach (using Affinity products of course). This active learning style has step by step tutorials in text form, Real Life projects, downloadable files, web quizzes, accompanied by youtube videos, and can all be done from home for $50-60.

Welll done, very comprehensive. However, I am 78 and would prefer delivery to be MUCH slower, and perhaps use an enlarged pointer … the tiny moves like lightning,. Thanks though … I learnt a lot. Just slow down please . So many sites are the same .. some even worse!

How does it compare to open source Scribus? Maybe worth doing a comparison as you did with the others from the affinity suite compared to Inkscape and such
