    stop spreading BS saying hpa produces more energy at lower fps. if a hpa gun is shooting 350fps on a 0.2g bb and an aeg is shooting 350fps on a 0.2g bb they are both shooting at the SAME power. kinetic energy, its as simple as that

    • @Debbiebabe69
      @Debbiebabe69 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      the difference is, if you load your AEG with .2g bbs and chrono at 350fps (1.14 Joules), and then load a mag of .4g bbs, you gun will drop down to around 250fps, ie still around 1.14 joules.
      However, as HPA guns operate differently, if you chrono at 350fps on .2g bbs, and then load up .4g bbs, you gun will still shoot at 350FPS - which is 2.28 Joules.

    You should probably attend a middle school level physics class because a joule is a joule, doesn't matter if it's a spring, HPA or a railgun.

      Well.. yes definately a joule is a joule... But the mechanics of springpowered guns respectively HPA are a little more complex than just that.
      Spring guns (i tune airguns as a hobby) work with a balance of spring power, chamber volume and piston mass. Basically you want the piston to mostely bottom out before the BB really moves, creating a very high pressure cushion between piston seal and chaber front. If you get it just right your firering noise will be a short clean sound.
      If you got that right for one BB weight and try lighter BB's youll get an slamming rattely hard sound, trying Heavier BB's youll get an bumblebee type buzz of the piston bouncing on the aircushion.. (within limits you obviusly can add a little BB weight and still get a little more power out)
      HPA.. well you got all the air in the world, sure most electronical HPA engines wont go to infinate pressures. But you can go pretty high with GBB type mechanical guns and back in the day someone marketed actual 40J PCP airrifles modded with 6mm BB barrels and obviusly choked down to airsoft level power. The Basis was an FX2000 PCP rifle and i do belive i can still put that right back at 40J (1gram / 16 grain pellet/BB) for you within 20 minutes.

    • @Miku-2020
      @Miku-2020 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      there is a reason why indoor fields measure FPS with specific bbs to count the joule. there's Joule limit not fps limit. and on .2g bb it's about 320fps. what is issue with Gas / HPA is joule creep compared to normal AEGs but if you AEG has tight tolerances it also will joule creep.
      basic example, gun without joule creep. will see decrease in fps with heavier bbs. gun with joule creep sees less of fps drop meaning increasement in joule.
      I personally i wouldn't referee anyone to this video.

    • @dalh598.1

      Energy = 0.5 * mass * velocity^2
      That's literally all you need to know. It's the equation that DEFINES Joules. It's why the metal BB penetrates more. Higher mass. It's why shooting hot hurts more. Higher velocity.
      So if you keep the velocity and the mass the same, whether you're using CO2 or literal gunpowder, the energy will be the exact same...
      For American people, if you use the same BB, then CO2 at 400fps and HPA at 400fps are going to give the SAME amount of pain
      If you guys want a real hands-on example, go play paintball. CO2 tanks were phased out a decade ago, so HPA is the only thing that you'll find supported on fields, with the exception of 12g CO2 pistols. Why was CO2 phased out? Because HPA tanks were far more consistent with FPS than CO2.

      Was just about to comment the same thing. I think a lot of the problem comes when sites chrono on a .2 and not the weight your going to use. HPA do have more joule creep than AEGs so if the sites are not taking in to account that side of it. It can sometimes seem that hpa are shooting harder. Again simple solution chrono on the weight your going to use then either use the chrono to work out the joules or have a chart next to the chrono with the given maximum fps for each weight.

      Ok so if the Site only Chronos with 0.2's i allready get Headaches. i thought this was a thing of only very early airsoft times (no field i played at does this). I realy only know fields where you load your mags yourself then head to the chronobooth you tell them the weight your using and they chrono it and mark it.

    Thank you for an interesting video! :)
    As a physicist I must point out that the comments made at 5:40 regarding HPA being higher energy than an equivelant FPS AEG, normal GBB or springer are incorrect.
    The kinetic energy of the BB in flight (Ek) = 0.5mv^2
    where m is the mass of the BB and v is the velocity of the BB.
    Therefore the type of system used to launch the projectile isn't relevant to the impact energy of the BB, only the velocity at the moment immediately prior to impact and the BB's mass are.
    Note that since the BB immediately begins to slow after exiting the barrel due to air resistance, the velocity and therefore impact energy decreases with distance.
    Since the kinetic energy is proportional to the velocity squared, we can see that with higher velocities come exponentially larger energies. This is why doubling your FPS far more than doubles the energy.
    Hope that helps clear things up!

    Airsoft in the US must be in a dire situation if this video is anything to go by.
    Pyro is generally allowed where it's not so dry it's a tinderbox. In the UK, pyro is actively encouraged pretty much year round to add some atmosphere to the game. Only during the height of summer when it's super dry are they restricted. 9mm blanks are just as loud as permitted pyrotechnics. 12 gauge 'saluting' blanks aren't any louder than 9mm blanks in my experience.
    Additionally, if you're going to tell people that HPA produces more joules than an AEG (at the same FPS), you're dead wrong. HPA systems have the *potential* to produce higher energy (measured in joules) by turning up the regulator. This doesn't happen because at chrono, when it's under the limit, the regulator should be locked by the marshalls to stop the player turning their pressure up.
    Black gas isn't banned anywhere that has common sense and spot checks for this kinda bait & switch. Red and even black gas is sometimes required in winter months to get guns to cycle properly.
    Powerful flashlights aren't banned either! Strobe functions are restricted depending on the field owner/operator but flashlights are not, regardless of how powerful they are.
    I think lasers might be the only thing you've got right in this video. Most fields stick to red lasers only and 'Class 2' and lower which I believe is 1MW and lower.
    If you're going to misinform people on purpose, you should stick to unboxing guns.

    • @peterbaan9671
      @peterbaan9671 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +28

      The metal and glass BB-s as well. However he made a big mistake at that as well. BB weight will affect fps and muzzle energy. So saying that sniper replica is 550 fps means simply nothing. Glass and metal BBs are usually way more heavy than a plastic BB, and depending on the platform they won't leave the muzzle at the same speed...
      Depending on the platform, different types of gas may or may not affect muzzle energy. In mws build for example a higher pressure gas only increases felt recoil and rate of fire, but not by a lot either.
      Also he is showing almost everything in real use on a field, so are they banned really? :D

    OK thing to remember 1. The 22short 8mm and 9mm blank grenades are QUIETER than a CO2 grenade like a thunder B
    2. Joule creep is a PROBLEM because of the HPA issue, it's not that it produces more energy, it's that a heavier bb will spend longer in the barrel being constantly accelerated so will leave the barrel with more energy. So you take a HPA gun that fires at 1j with a 0.2, you put a 0.4 in it for in game and it's actually doing 1.8 to 2j.
    You can get an aeg to do the same if built for it specifically but the difference is MUCH MUCH SMALLER the max you can get an aeg to do is a 0.2 to 0.3 joule difference between a 0.2 and a 0.4

    An impulse results from mass times speed. Mass is given by the BBs weight and the speed is given by the fps measured by the chrono. There are no other variables to determine the energy of the impact. Meaning 300 fps from an AEG carry exactly the same energy as 300 fps from an HPA given that the BBs weigh the same.

    HPA Systems do allow raising the FPS which is dangerous. In Paintball we were limited to a standard of 300 FPS.
    Going back decades to when Paintball first started and the manufacturers of Paintball Markers (ie guns) {we had to be careful because calling them guns could trigger some people negatively}.
    Tippman came out with the first fully automatic "Marker" and it almost completely killed the game/hobby, because you'd have an experienced player with one of these automatics, just hammering newbies, and this discouraged a lot of beginners because of the cost of entry to that level. So for a long time automatics were banned. But after awhile they got rid of the bullies and the more experienced players stuck to tactics and teaching the beginners, and also beginners were warned ahead of time if customized guns that could fire faster were being used, the Double Trouble, and I think automatics were allowed back on fields, but no one would be taken by Surprise and games were sorted more by equipment and the experience level of the participants.
    Like restricting games to single shot pump guns.

    A rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) is a shoulder-fired rocket weapon that launches rockets equipped with an explosive warhead. Most RPGs can be carried by an individual soldier, and are frequently used as anti-tank weapons. These warheads are affixed to a rocket motor which propels the RPG towards the target and they are stabilized in flight with fins. Some types of RPG are reloadable with new rocket-propelled grenades, while others are single-use. RPGs are generally loaded from the front. RPGs with high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) warheads are very effective against lightly armored vehicles such as armored personnel carriers (APCs) and armored cars. However, modern, heavily-armored vehicles, such as upgraded APCs and main battle tanks, are generally too well-protected (with thick composite or reactive armor) to be penetrated by an RPG, unless less armored sections of the vehicle are exploited. Various warheads are also capable of causing secondary damage to vulnerable systems (especially sights, tracks, rear and roof of turrets) and other unarmored targets. The term "rocket-propelled grenade" is from the Russian acronym РПГ (Ручной Противотанковый Гранатомёт, Ruchnoy Protivotankovy Granatomyot), meaning "handheld anti-tank grenade launcher", the name given to early Russian designs. And A minigun is a type of electrically-driven, multi-barreled machine gun that fires a high volume of ammunition in a short amount of time. It's designed to deliver a rapid, sustained rate of fire, typically between 2,000 to 6,000 rounds per minute! Here's a brief overview: - Multi-barreled: Typically 3-6 barrels, which rotate to fire in sequence - Electrically-driven: Powered by an external electric motor, rather than traditional recoil or gas operation - High rate of fire: Capable of firing thousands of rounds per minute - Belt-fed: Ammunition is fed from a continuous belt, allowing for sustained fire - Often mounted: On vehicles, aircraft, or tripods, due to its size and weight Miniguns are commonly used in military and law enforcement applications, such as: - Suppressive fire: Pinning down enemy positions with a high volume of fire - Anti-personnel: Engaging multiple targets quickly - Anti-aircraft: Shooting down low-flying aircraft or drones Keep in mind that miniguns are typically restricted to military and law enforcement use, due to their intense firepower and potential for collateral damage. And The M134 Minigun is an American 7.62×51mm NATO six-barrel rotary machine gun with a high rate of fire (2,000 to 6,000 rounds per minute).[2] It features a Gatling-style rotating barrel assembly with an external power source, normally an electric motor. The "Mini" in the name is in comparison to larger-caliber designs that use a rotary barrel design, such as General Electric's earlier 20 mm M61 Vulcan, and "gun" for the use of rifle ammunition as opposed to autocannon shells. "Minigun" refers to a specific model of weapon that General Electric originally produced, but the term "minigun" has popularly come to refer to any externally powered rotary gun of rifle caliber. The term is sometimes used loosely to refer to guns of similar rates of fire and configuration, regardless of power source and caliber. And A nuclear weapon, commonly referred to as a "nuke," is an explosive device that derives its destructive force from nuclear reactions, either fission (splitting of atomic nuclei) or a combination of fission and fusion (the merging of atomic nuclei). The energy released from these reactions is immense, far exceeding that of conventional explosives. Nukes are capable of causing massive destruction over a wide area, releasing energy in the form of a blast, intense heat, and radiation. The radiation from a nuclear explosion can be lethal and has long-term effects, including genetic mutations and environmental contamination. The first nuclear weapons were developed during World War II as part of the Manhattan Project, leading to the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan. Nuclear weapons are categorized into two primary types: atomic bombs (A-bombs) and hydrogen bombs (H-bombs). The atomic bomb relies on the fission of heavy atomic nuclei, such as uranium-235 or plutonium-239, to release energy. In contrast, hydrogen bombs, or thermonuclear weapons, use a two-stage process where a fission bomb initiates a fusion reaction between isotopes of hydrogen, such as deuterium and tritium, releasing even more energy. The yield of hydrogen bombs can be thousands of times greater than that of atomic bombs, making them the most powerful weapons ever created by humanity. The detonation of a nuclear weapon results in a

    Velocity of BB indirectly correlates to energy. So that means it doesn't make sense that energy stays same with fps drop unless you are using heavier BB. since kinetic energy is calculated with: 1/2m x v² where m is mass of BB in kg and v is velocity of BB in m/s.

    0:40 this may be because mine shoots more than just BBs but mine is a very affordable off the shelf unit and its rated for around 940 ft/s and goes higher if i overcharge it a little (still within the factor of safety many parts are actually rated for) so 550 isnt all that impressive especially if that number is just to make it permissable on fields (which i think tend to top out around 500 ft/s for snipers )
    And no matter where the energy comes from if velocity and mass are the same you get the same energy regardless of what put it there.

    I don't know what state you live in but in Colorado, the ONLY thing you mentioned that's "baned" is the metal or glass bbs. I quoted that because it's not like they were ever allowed in the first place. At my outdoor feild we can use every other thing you mentioned.

    I think what makes the glass one dangerous is that it can break. Making a bunch of shards fired at the person.

    Glass and steel BBS will damage the barrels over time. You would need a stainless steel barrel to use the ammunition. Only for target practice and ipsc. Bio bbs are honestly the right way to go.
