Most of the saves Leno makes are directly or rather subtly caused by himself.

A few years ago we didn’t have 1 decent keeper, now we have 2 top class ones
Sadly our defensive line was never complete.... 1 period we have decent cb (vermaelan & koscielny), another period we have decent fullbacks (clichy & sagna)

@@louiswalsh70 i wouldn't really go as far as saying that. Martinez has only had a few games and dont get me wrong he has been sensational since the restart but that doesn't give us a reason to sell leno. In fact it provides more competition between the 2 to see who can surpass the other, which will ultimately lead to them both improving to fight for the #1 spot. Leno is not what we need to get rid of the dead wood like sokratis, bellerin, kolasinac etc are what we need to focus on shifting along imo.

Let's not forget why Martinez was never our no.1 ever since he walk into the Colney gates almost 10 years ago because only until recently, he was really poor and some fans are so quick to forget the number of times Leno saved our asses especially when our formation isn't as defensive as what it is now

There on distribution I 100% agree with you this dude is a big joker when it comes to that which led to some useless teams like Tottenham to take advantage and score and that stupid blunder he did against olympiakos. Surely when it comes to distribution aspect he never learn.

Really glad Leno is back. I thought his injury was serious and that we were done for in goal but Martinez has filled in for the German superbly making a number of vital saves and assuring his CBs too with impressive distribution and physical presence in his area as well. We have two top keepers on our hands and it's a good problem for the manager to have. It will be interesting to see how Leno returns from his injury.
