DIY Steel Travel Trailer Fenders

- I added steel fenders to my R.V. Travel Trailer. This gave me peace of mind when traveling down the road. If and when a flat tire happens on the highway, hopefully the fenders will protect the trailer from the tire shrapnel that flings off a disintegrating tire. I bought the fenders at Tractor Supply and made custom mounts for them. The fenders can be removed if necessary.
Does the tire rub the fender at all with the axle travel up and down?
Nope, the fenders are actually mounted up against the subfloor so they don’t take up any room for the tire.
Can you share an update on how the fenders are performing/holding up?
I have since sold the trailer. I installed them just before a 5,000 mile road trip. They held up beautifully. The paint on the front fenders got dinged up because of rocks getting kicked up by the truck. I never had a catastrophic blowout, so I’m not sure how the fenders would fair. The point of the fenders was to protect the floor and siding during a blowout
