Ben, another excellent breakdown. Personally I keep a few similar products in my fish cabinet. Some water conditioners break down chloramine. Others then add things like Methylene Blue or slime coat stimulants into the bottle. My bigger water changes get the products that use the extra additives.
From the Fritz website: "Fritz Industries is an independent, employee-owned company based in Mesquite, Texas." I believe Fritz Complete doesn't have an expiration date because these products apparently last a very long time (e.g. Aquarium Coop expiration date is five years). Fritz should probably throw a similar date on their bottles as well, rather than not specify. Not taking sides, just an FYI.
Yep Ben I have been using Vitamin C to dechlorinate with, it works on both Chlorine and Chloramine. And its super cheap 1 thousand Mil tableted will treat 400 gallons of water according to Father Fishes channel. So I had to slowly try it out in small doses and I haven't had any issues. So now I just mix up a bottle of it and use it like you do with Prime or Fritze. And save money as well.
I've been using Fritz Complete, but just bought the Easy Dechlor because I was ordering from them at the moment. I hope it works give or take the same. And nice shirt by the way...I'm wearing mine as I'm watching this 😁
I think the lid is actually a nice touch given ACOs target market. They really do try to go for the beginner hobbyists just starting to learn, who may not have or feel comfortable with measuring things out on their own. Its such a little seemingly stupid thing, that actually probably is helpful for a lot of the people ACO tries to market towards, that's the whole premise of the "Easy" lineup after all. Is it needed in terms of the market as a whole? Not really. But it does fill out the product lineup for ACO who isn't necessarily trying to sell dechlorinator to people who have whole fish rooms and have been fishkeeping for decades, but rather the person who just got their first 10 gallon guppy tank from Petsmart that they're already stressing out over trying to learn how not to kill.
When I buy declorinators, I look for two things. Price per gallon of water I can treat and if it also remove ammonia and nitrite. I want the cheapest, since they do the same thing anyway, and I avoid the ones removing ammonia and nitrate. I don't know for certain how they work, but if it actually remove the things feeding the filter bacteria, then it's excellent until all that can be removed is removed, then suddenly the ammonia spikes because almost all bacteria that conversation them are starved to death. I'm not entirely sure this is how they work, if anyone know if the bacteria can still use the chemically bound ammonia and nitrite for sustenance, then it would work fine. I love using them for shipping fish, it seem like a perfect solution for that, adding 4-5 times the amount needed for the bag should easily keep the levels at zero for at least 24 hours without problem!
I also find ordering anything from Aquarium Coop is not nearly as convenient as Amazon. Amazon has a much wider selection too and more informative reviews
"They don't another product. They need OUR product." Corey probably. Coop knows that every product they release will get them a share of pie. As long as they can make money off of their brand by take buisness from other brands they are golden.
There all the same price because there all buying the sulfur of the same company, but personally I'm the same as you I'd buy I off corry cause he trys hard
@@Bellyup6969 it depends on the amount of chlorine in your tap water. Also if they use chloramine in your tap water it’ll never evaporate so your fish are exposed for a long amount of time.
Cory, the owner of Aquarium Co-op explained in one of his videos that dechlorinators can lower the oxygen level in the water. I aerate the water over night in rain barrels to remove the chlorine.
I would buy AC brand over the others as a way to support the real hobby instead of the $$$ corporations. Having said that i dechlorinate with Vit C and don’t buy these products anyway.
Thank you for watching!
Take a closer look at the product here: www.aquariumcoop.com/products/aquarium-co-op-easy-dechlorinator
I use Safe, as well. One large jar will last a decade for avg aquarium keepers.
I'll stick with Prime, used it for years never had a problem
It looks like a API bottle. Which I have been using for years, they also. Have the same measuring cap which is blue
Yes, after filming I saw an API bottle in another video and thought, “There it is!”
@ I like Corey so I hope he will give them credit by saying I was inspired by API measuring cap

I wonder how many staff Fritz currently has? Personally I love Fritz and have had great results with both their meds and salt (and water conditioner).

Great Analysis 🔥🔥🔥
The cap has a 1 mil measurement as well. Just look closely inside the cap.
Seachem SAFE is the only very effective and economical option for larger aquarium. I use it down to 55 gallon aquariums
Use all of Cory‘s products and I trust them. I am also experimenting with vitamin C.

It’s currently my favorite tee (my granddaughter loves it🤣😀)
I'm fortunate that I have large rain water tanks. So,I only use this type of water in my aquariums. My fish seem to do well in it.
Can any of us hobbiests actually tell if one dechlorinater works better than the other?

I like Prime but I might give it a try next time I need a new bottle.
I would avoid Prime, very dangerous. Prime locks away the food beneficial bacteria needs to survive.

Personally use tetra didn't have luck with fritz (probably because my wayer supply has a lot of chloramine) never tried seachems
Fritz complete for me. Florida water is down right nasty.
I like to use Prime Pond, same product as Prime, just much more concentrated, they cost the same. however, the Prime pond will last much longer.
I only use wondershell, havent found need for anything else
There all the same price because there all buying the sulfur of the same company, but personally I'm the same as you I'd buy I off corry cause he trys hard
I manually agitate tap water and test shows 0 chlorine
Not having a pump head is a definite deal breaker for me.
Rebranded stuff that's all it is
Never not once used a dechlorinate ,, not needed unless you run your pool water into your tank.

I think chlorine will gas off but chloramine will not.

Nah we don’t need
